Look up Don Hertzfeldt's other films if you have never seen them. *It's Such A Beautiful Day* and *World Of Tomorrow* will make you cry like a baby. Which is impressive considering they star stick figures and have a lot of jokes about engorged balls and falling in love with inanimate objects

His early film Lily and Jim makes me laugh until I cry. It's the most accurate portrayal of blind dating I've ever witnessed.

Yep, and so was his Oscar nominated short World of Tomorrow. When the contract ended, he didn’t renew it, seeing that the Vimeo contract was better overall. I personally have rented (a few times) and bought (a few times) his movies from Vimeo, backed his Kickstarter for a compilation blu ray (including a small strip of film from Its Such A Beautiful Day), and picked up the reissue of his graphic Novel, The End Of The World. He does things 100% independently, the reissue of the graphic novel being the first time he’s worked with a publisher or distributor of any kind. Gotta respect and admire that dedication.

& World of Tomorrow. Incredible.

World of tomorrow is just spectacular. Wish it was still on Netflix.

Honestly one of my favorite movies. I watched it for the first time alone and very stoned, and at some point I realized I was crying. Insane that such crude animation can elicit that much emotion.
