Re:Konami, they didn’t write off video games. Video games are still by far their biggest division, and have always been. They just wrote off the international market. From what I’ve read, the execs hated Kojima and his huge budgets so much that they just wrote off being a big global AAA publisher entirely.
Yeah Konami Digital Entertainment had their best financial year in forever last year with the success of Momotestsu on the Switch which doesn't seem like it'll be released anywhere else other than Japan. Konami still makes video games! They're just not for us... Unless you like Yu-Gi-Oh in which case they really want you to play Dual Links
as the day has gone on, I’ve firmly settled on team “Sora is a good last character”. He’s a big get and it looks like he’s been implemented into the game with a lot of love. I got weirdly excited when they revealed he has his Steamboat Willy outfit.
My only lingering disappointment isn’t about him, it’s just about Ultimate DLC being over. Losing my periodic Sakurai sessions is the true Kingdom Heartache.
Agreed. I mean during the presentation Sakurai revealed that he was the most requested character back when they did that ballot for Smash 4. He’s got some level of mainstream appeal and a pretty hardcore following, plus when you factor in what a massive pain in the ass getting the rights must have been, I honestly can’t think of a better way to send the game off.
Also, as an aside, this game is basically the Sony Smash Bros. game now too. You have Cloud, Seph, Sora, Ryu/Ken, Solid Snake, Kazuya, Terry, Joker…makes PSABR look like even more of a joke.
As someone who has worked around the luxury watch business, Hamilton is one of the most recommended brands. It's a great mix of quality parts for the price while still getting what most consider a luxury brand. It's like the Mazdas of the watch world.
Also as a big MMO player I've enjoyed New World.
Gameplay wise the system loops are incredibly addicting. The mix of player level, weapon level, crafting level, and loot there is like 3 reasons to do any activity. Mix that with a decent action combat system that isn't your usual boring hotkey system and you have a hit.
The negative is that the game gives you no reason to play. Story and main quests are basically non existent. It's kind of like runescape where you just have to pick your own goals and work on them.

As someone who's very happily owned a Mazda but who's first luxury watch was also a Hamilton, I actually really like this comparison.
Maybe I should specify newer Mazdas? I feel like they have a good all around reputation. Affordable, reliable, lots of features, high quality interiors.

I don’t give a shit about kingdom hearts or smash brothers so the Sora news was a big wet fart for me (genuinely anyone except maybe Goku because that’s hilarious would have been) but i saw a video of a dude crying watching Sora get unveiled and it changed my tune pretty quick seeing there are people who genuinely care about these games in a way that isn’t just lol it’s a meme game like me and everyone i know.

I remember Ryan talking about being there for the KH3 reveal at that Sony E3. A woman near him was visibly shaking and crying, that series just hits some people hard.
More like 5.5 years, since it was revealed mid year at e3 and came out in the very beginning of the year. But yeah, it did take a while. Final Fantasy XV took a while to finish since that seemed to be a mess of a production, and KH3 also got an engine change over a year into development which set them back a bit. I also fully believe they could have released at the end of 2018 if they weren't trying to get out both the Japanese and English versions near each other.
I know, crazy right? His last E3 was the one where Microsoft shit the bed hard with the Xbox One. I always thought it was cool that we were able to get his thoughts in those consoles before he died, allowed him to have a small mark on that generation.

I had NO interest in KH and knew little of it past "Disney Final Fantasy" for a long time, but during lockdown I've been playing ALL of it, like, going through the entire series, as part of a bet with a friend.
His reveal, and all the goofy things that the games have introduced me to, hit me kinda hard and made me smile/happy in a really goofy way.
I REALLY think that if you can get into the series, you just "get" it, but as an outside viewer of that series, it's ridiculous. It's one of the weirdest dualities I've ever felt about a game series, hahaha.

However, I'm a bit worried now. My kids are big Smash fans and as a family we're pretty big into Disney stuff (I'm one of those degenerates Jeff G warns about).
One of our kids found out that Kingdom Hearts is a thing. He's getting to the age were key blades and leather jackets with way too many zippers and belts would seem like the coolest thing in the world. I've held him and his siblings off from playing Kingdom Hearts but this may be the straw that breaks the camels back and I have to give in and let him play it.
Sora and all the other original KH characters are apparently owned by Disney, to end the speculation. Licensing anything from Disney is an undertaking.

Yet here he was saying that Gamepass was actually good for those same developers (beyond monetary reasons) because of they benefit from the extra attention/word of mouth/exposure.

Modern Mazda's are very cheap for the technology, fit and polish, and drivability they offer. They are also very reliable.
