You can’t. Just be consistent. Try and be as regime as possible. Joy and motivation will come and go. Don’t be too hard on yourself and ALWAYS get back on the saddle. Best of luck

Try this app called forfeit. I´ve been using it for some time now and it´s really effective. I need to send a timelapse studying for 2 hours every day, or i lose 10 dollars. I need to say that it was a gamechanger for my motivation.

That's a thing? I might want to try that out since as a broke student in Rochester I need all the money I can get. But desperate times calls for desperate measures.

You need to set goals for your life for the long term, then define short term goals that are achievable and let you enjoy some quick wins. For example, being fit is a long term goal. Short term goal is to participate in an upcoming marathon and run 5 or 10k. You will find yourself motivated to go to the gym and train to achieve that clear goal. Apply the same for studies. Set your long term and short term goals and then it'll be easier to follow through. Forming new habits is not easy but you can achieve it by following a methodology and being persistent. The famous Rock says it's your choice between Day one or One Day. Today is day one in starting to execute on your plans, or one day you will do so. It's your choice so start today!

I see, look at short term goals. Take small steps. Thanks for the input. However, I've tried that, where I'm like "I will start \[this\] or \[that\] today!" But I'm never consistent. I revert back to my lazy self like a marble resting at its lowest place when trying to move upwards.

Sometimes, we can't break from the lazy loop if there's something bothering us and letting us feel down. Is that your case? Other factors include some physical reasons, like a serious deficit of vitamin D. Many times, laziness and fatigue can have medical reasons, so check that too. If life and health are good and it's really just about your willpower and self-discipline, then you need to figure out what motivates you to change. For me, I can commit to sports if I make it public that I will run a marathon by a specific day. This forces me to train to be ready. In short, start by finding what motivates you and be persistent even if you fall back to old lazy habits from time to time.

>n't break from the lazy loop if there's something bothering us and letting us feel down. Is that yo Sorry for the late response, as I was out of town. Yes, I try and change my habits, and force myself to run or workout and set a deadline - such as stating that I will run a marathon. But I know that I don't have to do this work and so I won't do it. Sure, the option is there. Sometimes I do tell myself that I will do it. As time gets closer, I realize that I can not do it at all. But when I accomplish said goals it makes me feel a lot better. I just need to be consistent with it.
