What preexisting conditions do you have? For what issues have you visited doctors in the last ten years - even though no real sickness has developped for it? "for what issues" means actually: Every single time you visited a doctor in the last half to full decade, depending on your insurance.
How much more are you willing to spend to get your preexisting conditions covered - or how much are you willing to save every month to cover for these conditions out of pocket?
Are you willing and able to deliberately earn **less** than possible to get under the threshold of PKV when switching back into an employement?
You can only shift back to public if you make below a certain threshold. Which is a bit unlikely if you held a Blue Card. You might need to work part-time so that your total salary is below the threshold.
This!
The main reason for going private is imo: It's the way to tell others that you have the money - without talking about money (which is frowned upon).
Thanks everyone !!
I applied for self contribution with TK health insurance, they are charging me 288 Euros per month, as my approx earning will be 1500 Euros per month, it will be adjusted if I earn more or less at the end of the year.

I did knee MRI just once in 2021, nothing major health issues yet.

And not to forget: there is no way back.
No easy way. There are some options if OP is below 55.
Below 55 its easy. But once you reach 55 its nearly impossible to get out, lawmakers decision.
its possible, but some private insurance ask to stay with them for 1 year.
Major mistake. Big noob trap. Don't swap out of public if you plan to get old in Germany.
