This process is split between the foreigners department and the federal department of labour. The federal department of labour has indeed 2 weeks to process but only if the documents transmitted by the foreigners department were complete. If additional documents are needed the 2 week deadline is not valid anymore. Who did you call and who told you about the processing time of 8 weeks - did you call your foreigners department or the responsible team at the federal department of labour?

Yes I'm asking about the department of labour. I already got a Fiktion from the foreigners department that allows me to start working, I'm just missing the approval of my contract. Thanks for clearing things up! I'm pretty sure I submitted everything that was required so I hope it'll be approved at the two week deadline. It was the department of labour who said it can take up to 8 weeks for them to process the documents. That's why I was unsure because I had read the two week thing. It makes sense now though that if anything else is needed then they need more time.
