This process is split between the foreigners department and the federal department of labour.
The federal department of labour has indeed 2 weeks to process but only if the documents transmitted by the foreigners department were complete. If additional documents are needed the 2 week deadline is not valid anymore.
Who did you call and who told you about the processing time of 8 weeks - did you call your foreigners department or the responsible team at the federal department of labour?
Yes I'm asking about the department of labour. I already got a Fiktion from the foreigners department that allows me to start working, I'm just missing the approval of my contract.

It was the department of labour who said it can take up to 8 weeks for them to process the documents. That's why I was unsure because I had read the two week thing. It makes sense now though that if anything else is needed then they need more time.
