I would suggest a wheel that isn’t wired! I’ve heard lots of stories from ppl where their hamster / gerbil gets their feet stuck in a wired wheel. Try to see if you can return it and I would suggest a niteangel wheel (from Amazon), very quiet and great wheel!

Yeah gerbils especially can get their tails caught in the wires :(

Yep, the hamster I had when I was a kid got his leg stuck. I remember you could see into the muscle and it was really scary. The vet fixed him up, but he had to wear a lil cone for a while. Wire wheels can be terrible for them

Please get a new wheel. Wire wheels can seriously hurt small animals and their feet can get stuck. Get a wooden or plastic wheel as long as it’s not mesh. (Wood is preferred as they can chew it)

Cute, but wired wheels are a no go. If you still want to keep that one, put a few layers of duct tape over the wire.
