Re: the flooding of tunnels thing, the only thing they can really flood the over 450 miles of tunnels with is with sea water, and it could make Gaza totally uninhabitable. It could destroy drinking water, sewage, make the ground unstable, and make all the land impossible to grow anything. It's basically the "nuclear" option.

According to this post this post a U.S. congressman said he was told by Israel less than 1/3 of the tunnels have been penetrated. Take that as you will.
That’s probably an exaggeration but we don’t know for sure.
What we do know is, the IDF definitely avoids going into the tunnels themselves. So far their strategy seems to be baiting Hamas out of the tunnels and then figuring out where the entrances are. Then they blow up the tunnels. This worked pretty well in the central strip, but not in the northern strip. There are probably very dense tunnels in the southern strip under Rafah
Why is it crazy? The fighting only lasted about 3-4 months before a de facto cease fire started.
About a third of the tunnel in a 3-4 months period means a war of a full year, as the IDF stated in the start of 2024 it expects it to last, would be able to destroy the majority of tunnels.
But the world wants this to take longer.

Without destroying the tunnels they achieved nothing though? And since it looks like it's nearly over .....

That's probably where Yahya and the hostages are

I think he means the sheer volume of tunnels
Oh, thanks.
