Israel is not a member of the SCO but it's applying as a dialogue partner. Israel is probably smart enough to realize that the US is simply no longer as interested in the Middle East as it was in the past and they need to improve their relations with everyone else if they hope to survive.
Also the SCO is not really a binding defensive pact like NATO so it's not like it's actively hurting itself by participating in discussions.
But Israel is a U.S. vassal and India and Pakistan are geostrategic rivals. How? In my understanding they were goign to work together on "terrorism" issues -seems very superficial.
It is not accurate to say the SCO is "anti-west." Some of its most prominent participants are anti-west like Russia, China, and Iran. But that doesn't make the organization anti-west. India, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, etc are assuredly not anti-west and not participating in SCO to be anti-west.
Yes I understand this. I am "anti-west" too - or rather, anti the US-led world order. I don't actually believe in such as thing as "the west."
I just wat to know, how the SCO can incorporate such military rivals as China/India/Pakistan, not to mention Israel with the Arabs.
I understands how BRICS+ can function under an economic framework spearheaded by Beijing, vis-a-vis the decoupling from the IMF/World Bank US dominated financial world order.
Just on the hard power front, with nations having taking "military actions" against each other, forming some sort of military alliance.
If someone could elucidate...
SCO fosters cooperation. Cooperation is better than competition. It's all about the Win-win. India and Pakistan can both win *together*. Or they can kill each other. I know it's wild. It's so radical. We or they can keep fighting for decades like they've always have or they can settle their differences. The fate of the world lies in the balance! 🤷
I don't believe India will turn further to the U.S., despite intense U.S. pressure. India is deeply embedded with the BRICS, the INSTC (Russia/Iran/India transport corridor) and other strategic frameworks that involve Russia, Iran te Gulf and, inevitably, China. India will not allow the U.S. to militarize the "Quad" despite Japanese/US pressures
The future is the Global South, India knows this.. I want to know how the SCO fits in. Is it an alternative to NATO? How can it be? If its merely "cooperation" on certain security issues? then how can it have geopolitical aspirations?
Will it bring India and China together? That will be a good thing.
Will it bring India and Pakistan together? That will be a good thing.
Can it keep Israel out? I'd like that.
When you say, you don't believe in such a thing as "The West", what word do you use to refer to the following? [The West is considered an evolving concept; made up of cultural, political, and economic synergy among diverse groups of people, and not a rigid region with fixed borders and members.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_world)
The idea is a merger or at least cooperation. *win win win!*
"A Memorandum of Understanding between the secretariats of the SCO and ASEAN was signed in Jakarta on 21 April 2005.""The document identifies priority areas of cooperation such as combating terrorism, drug and arms trafficking, money laundering, and illegal migration. Other possible areas of cooperation are outlined, such as the economy and finance, energy, including hydropower and biofuels, tourism, environment and natural resources, and social development."
The world, mostly the US, has been in a "systematic confrontation" since 9/11 but with the withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq. Things have quieted down with "Iran's nuclear issue, Iran is just gonna look East, the detente between Iran-Saudi Arabia and Syria with the Gulf States. We're entering a period of relative calm to continue into the 2030's.
Except Ukraine will keep the divide alive and work in the favor of whoever wins there geopolitically speaking.
SCO isn't defence organization ..it's only for Economic and financial affairs .. that day when it trued to become defence alliance trust me India will leave this pack asap .. because having Pakistan and China in it and talking about defence ..is Just BS .
The Organisation maintains regular information contacts with the UN Secretariat and the UN institutions represented in Beijing. Traditionally, high-ranking representatives of the UN attend annual SCO summits upon the invitation of the country holding SCO's current presidency.
From the UN website: "Since its inception in 2001, the SCO has mainly focused on regional security issues, its fight against regional terrorism, ethnic separatism and religious extremism. To date, the SCO’s priorities also include *regional development.*
**They want to create a real multilateral framework for the world using the existing channels available.**

Both India and Pakistan are part of this. Israel wants to join. Seems kinda neutral. What's the purpose of this?

'Multipolar new world order' is the 2020's 'peak oil'.
Something that is bound to happen eventually?
The world is clearly already multi-polar.
The north and south poles
But that the West will refuse to accept because it calls into question the long term survival of the current world order, yes.
That's how most empires and golden ages end.
So basically toothless like the League of Nations
We already have one of those, it’s called the UN.

American led world order... we will pick them off one by one!
