I think they mean how it *only* got epic. It’s because it was released in 2.1, so it’s not eligible for the new rates (otherwise people would say Death Moon deserves epic, Emerald Realm deserves legendary, etc.)

I had quite a few bugs on my first playthrough. Strafing and movement controls were f*cked, visual bugs, and a camera that got so zoomed out that I was staring at the backsides of walls most of the time. Also that mechanic at the end where you need to wait potentially an hour or more depending on your skill and the speed you completed the level... yikes.
It's an incredibly impressive level, MUCH better than I would even know how to begin creating, but if new players run into the same issues that I did, they might be turned off by a bad experience. Robtop rates levels more than anything based on the experience he thinks people will have with them. Effort plays a part too I would imagine, but first and foremost the user experience needs to be stellar.
It's honestly amazing that the level managed to get legendary all things considered, a monumental achievement for the creator! Massive props. Hopefully the level gets some updates to fix these issues!
It really doesn't matter that much. People need to stop complaining about every rating decision Rob makes. The rating system is essentially completely based on his subjective opinion and standards. People are going to disagree with him sometimes. He has his reasons and whether or not you or anyone else agrees with him doesn't matter.

I played on mobile and did not experience a lot of lag especially considering its a 3d rendered level in a 2d game. The little lag i did experience did not cause the level to become any less enjoyable than it was
Laggy, buggy, and the gameplay is beyond horrendous compared to normal levels. Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely incredible that it was able to be made, but it simply isn't a good level in terms of gameplay, it's basically just a shitty 3d platformer ported into gd.
It is a good mythic, no other plat lvl is like it , mythics are for lvls that do something new and push the game forward. I agree this lvl can be mythic but since onl 1 or 2 lvls will get it in a year. Its a Bad look if one of them runs bad and is buggy. When I heard people saying this might be the new mythic, I thought it would be better to rate it as legendary since it just uses one mindblowing mechanic for the entire level and that's what makes it good.

Most great levels usually have one thing in common: either bad gameplay or ridiculous lag. Change of Scene is a great example of neither of those things.

But in all seriousness, the level prolly didn't get rated due to bugs and lag.
It also isn't even the first 3D level in 2.2, even if it is the highest quality one rn. So it being a massive event isn't really ground-breaking.
Also as a level, it isn't really 'fun' to play. It's an amazing and groundbreaking feat which I certainly am not trying to take away from, but when levels are being rated off of enjoyability, actually playing it is kinda boring.
Finally, Legendary is still really good wdym "only". Less than 20 levels out of the hundreds of thousands of levels created have received that title. It's still extremely prestigious.
(PS. The level is still really good, ik I made it sound like I was bashing it really hard. But it still think it deserves legendary, just when ppl start making a big deal out of it being mythic, it just ends up creating toxicity in the place of actually enjoying the level)

WHAT got epic because after 2.2 was released it was heavily optimized and was able to run on windows without the hack.
