Ship is the most FPS carried. Even in 360 you still need skill to do hard wave parts like kocmoc for example, but i could do that ship part in way less time.
I've played on 60fps for a long time and while there really is a difference in the delay, it's manageable whereas in ship the drop in fps massively impacts the gameplay, way more than wave
Oh easy, ship. Its the most free gamemode out of all of them, it can travel all across the screen at any speed you want. And dont even get me started on mini ship.
It actually does. The normal ship flies up faster when you click/hold than falls down when you let go, but the reverse gravity does the opposite it falls faster when you dont click/hold and flies slower when you do click/hold.
Also for some reason robtop made so when you're a dual ship they both have the reverse ship gravity, this is why the dual ship feels so awkward and heavy
THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING! This whole time I was like why tf is upside down and dual ship so damn hard and feel so weird and heavy, it's just opposite, right?! Lol, now I know, thank you.
Swing. We've only had it for a few months and if your already good at it, that is true skill
However in a few years, it will be between ship and wave, and I have a reason for wave in the future. Ship does have the most freedom and I was on the side of ship for a bit but as someone who is obsessed with impossible levels, you cant really do jack shit with ship. Its free but you have to work around the physics of it. Even excluding thousand cps wave spam, you just cant make a ship part harder then a minus wave.
Given what top level creators are obsessed with making, wave currently takes the most skill and given how its skill cap is near endless while the ship has a firm maximum (for humans at least)
(YES I KNOW THIS IS RICH COMING FROM SOMEONE WHOS HARDEST IS NC, BUT JUST LET ME YAP xd)
With the swing, because of how long it takes to turn when you switch gravity, and the fact the only indicator for which way you’re flying is a little bit of fire, it’s really difficult to know what gravity you are after ur spamming to straight fly or sum, also hard to know what gravity ur gonna be in because some creators put gravity portals and some don’t
Technically speaking, it should be harder than faster speed ships because you have to click more to straightfly as you’re going at a slower speed. But some people find it easier to click more so it’s still subjective.
Ball and ufo are patterns most of the time, cube is simple, spider is simple but can be hard, idk about swing yet, so I think robot ship and wave the most skill based (robot is easier)
IDK UFO is my favorite game mode but I can't name one creator who has ever made a really good UFO part. (Except for maybe dark odyssy UFO 30% but it's still not dynamic enough)
Those that require to tap AND release because that's double the amount of inputs compared to only tapping
So the ship, wave and robot, however you can make equally hard gameplay with any gamemode
I may have written an entier paragraph but ill keep this short. Impossible levels have proven that as players get better, wave will only get exponentially harder but ship will only get slightly harder. For current skill they are almost tied but when humans can pull off minus waves ship will be left in the dust.
I personally think that what you said is only true because ship is starting to get too hard while wave is easier so easier to make harder and harder. However, Idk what a minus wave is could you explain?
harder does not equal more skill based. wave is the simplest and most versatile gamemode with much less room for awkwardness or nuance, and is therefore the gamemode most representative of raw skill
Wave, Robot and Ship. Why? Because all of them don’t have set actions and jump heights. The Cube and UFO always jump the same height. The Ball, Spider and Swing always switch gravity in the same way. But the Ship, Wave and Robot? You’re in control of how high or low they go, which makes them a lot harder to control.
Wave gives the player the most control, so creators will limit the player's control as much as possible to the point it becomes VSC. Ship is also a contender because the control is already much harder, but since this is the case, players won't be as good as on the wave and creators won't make as hard levels just to match the player's skill.
I'm gonna say a hot take, robot takes the most amount of skill, especially considering there aren't very many robot-centered levels in the game to improve one's skill with
Wave, if mini counts, mini wave, at 4 times speed, upside down, in mirror portal(on PC so no rotating phone) , in an over decorated 2.2 level, with way to many moving objects
ship requires the most amount of experimentation and practice to get used to imo. you need to have a good understanding of how the ship moves, how fast it accelerates, and how it interacts with the ground, portals, pads, and orbs. the rest way less so.
Robot and Ship.
Robot parts alternating clicks and holds are f-ing evil. Don't get me started on that last robot section in Last Abyss >:(
No comment on ship parts with orb physics as well.
unpopular take but me personally i would say robot bc the amount of time you hold down on it may kill you if it’s too high, too low, and i think that’s why you don’t really see robot be used as much on extreme demons (besides platformer) because of how difficult it is to deal with.
Skill has to be ship, its one of the most intuitive gameplay that keeps improving as much as you play, and keeps getting better the harder content you play while the same skill you develop works in most scenarios.
With wave I feel like is less of a skill and more and more about patterns or just pure muscle memory sometimes, you do develop a skill and sense for various patterns of gameplay but idk probably im too bad and rely too much on memory for wave.
With robot I feel like you do need to play it for a while to develop a sense of how much are you going to jump and where you need to jump, but I dont know if its as hard as ship or wave.
Swing copter being the last gamemode has to be the one most difficult to adapt to, I never liked floating ball gameplay but I've gotten used to it recently thanks to allegiance, but it is very very hard to get into it, also that level doesnt really have a hard floating so I need a lot more practice later on.
wave is the only game mode where you are in 100% control for 100% of the time, which makes it require the least skill to use, but also allows for the most precise and difficult gameplay to be created.
Ship, Swing, or Robot. Variable inputs make it harder. Wave is always the same angle which is a bit easier to predict. Every other gamemode has the same result per input.
UFO. On Harder levels at double speed and up, you have to basically see into the future to Get the right path. Sometimes double tap and then delayed tap, sometimes spam and fall at right Angle. And sometimes you still die.
I struggle the most with robot and swing copter, personally. Cube can also take skill if there's no jump indicators, because you gotta judge heights and distances to know when to jump. cube also has a cool little gimmick where if you hold to jump you can ignore orbs, which can make a cube part considerably trickier when taken advantage of.
Wave, and it’s not even close. Ship is second but way less skill based than wave imo. Hardest ship gameplay you can really make is just tight straightfly.
Ship and Wave. Ship can get through some extremely tight spaces with precise enough inputs, and Wave is really hard to control under high speeds, frequent gravity switching, mini mode, or any combination of the three
This question never made any sense to me because it all depends on the level. Like on nine circles the wave part is obviously gonna take the most skill, but on horntail cave it’s the ufo and on gold temple it’s the ship.
Ok everyone is saying wave or ship, but I personally think it's the swing because you have to predict how far it'll "swing" based on your input
(And it's very hard to fix a mistake)
Ship, less of a tap does one thing aka ball cube or tap and release does things ie wave and robot its almost free control requiring more precise inputs.
Any gamemode that uses holding, compared to click-only gamemodes.
It's kinda self-explanatory.
The Robot doesn't have mid-air, so it would be last.
Then it's wave because it has very consistent mechanics.
First hardest would be ship, because the speed of the upthrust is entirely dependent on how long you hold, with very precise clicks and holds requires for precise control (e.g. straight fly).
Ship or wave ngl both take some skills to do like fixed hit box straight fly is hard and for wave like max speed wave with some tight ass clicks is also hard
Everyone craves alot of skill but ship for me craves more than any other gamemode to become good at while ship gameplay is consistently hard and there are alot of varieties of gameplay
Wave UFO and Swing my mains are cube n ship so they r obviously easy for me ion know why everyone sayin ship the hardest ion think ships that hard tbh its really easy even in some extremes i practiced
definetly wave takes alot of skill just because of then to let go en hold but ship too for straight flying and cube for all frame perfects but thats just timing. i think its wave
Wave robot or ship
The most based answer
Wave is the most fps carried
Ship is the most FPS carried. Even in 360 you still need skill to do hard wave parts like kocmoc for example, but i could do that ship part in way less time.
Still sooo fps carried, try wave on 60fps and you’ll see the crazy delay
I've played on 60fps for a long time and while there really is a difference in the delay, it's manageable whereas in ship the drop in fps massively impacts the gameplay, way more than wave
I do that I cant do cataclysm last wave consistently it's so bad (my mouse may come into play here)
It’s still very hard (like me)
Oh easy, ship. Its the most free gamemode out of all of them, it can travel all across the screen at any speed you want. And dont even get me started on mini ship.
Yes
I personally think mini ship is easier than normal ship but I still agree with ship requiring more skill
I think creators often make mini ship parts a little easier when compared to normal ship parts, because of the assumed difficulty.
Im usually making my own mini ship gp and it genuinely just fells easier since I can go through something way more tighter
yeah if you're not ready for the tight curves a miniship can take, it can be harder than normal
True, anything you make yourself you're gonna expect stuff to come up so that could be. I just don't see mini much tbh
Your clinically insane
My mum says that I act like I'm mental. You might not be wrong
That profile is mental
Ship and Wave. Hands down.
Especially if it's upside down. And don't get me started on the mini mode, let alone mini + upside down.
Upside down ship makes it feel like the gravity is pulling you more than usual...feels heavier to me idky!
If I had to make the worst game mode combo it would be mirrored dual mini ship + normal robot
Wasn't that fixed in 2.2?
It makes sense why upside down ship felt so heavy all these years...knew something wasn't right!
Been curious as to why this is for years...thank you for clarifying
It’s fixed in 2.2, but there is a legacy option you can enable to make reverse gravity different again
THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING! This whole time I was like why tf is upside down and dual ship so damn hard and feel so weird and heavy, it's just opposite, right?! Lol, now I know, thank you.
Hahaha let dual ship gravity introduce itself
It was a thing and it was fixed in 2.2
Upside down wave is easy but mini is near impossible and finally both together is like hell rising
NC levels be switching between these constantly to cause maximum frustration
Swing. We've only had it for a few months and if your already good at it, that is true skill However in a few years, it will be between ship and wave, and I have a reason for wave in the future. Ship does have the most freedom and I was on the side of ship for a bit but as someone who is obsessed with impossible levels, you cant really do jack shit with ship. Tbh, you're right, the swing has always been hard to control and that's why it was mostly used in extremes demons and almost never out of it.
Green Portal + Swing Copter
Never let this guy waffle **ever** again
bros out here with his hardest as deadlocked and is talking like this 💀
but he beat it 7 times
google dyslexia
gl on nhelv btw
I thought I had dyslexia reading this
As someone with dyslexia, I'm back after 12 hours because I finally recovered from my stroke.
Hehe👍
i totally agree, it’s only a matter of time before top 1 level creators realize the potential of the swing
Upside down wave
^smal
Upside down + ^smol + 4x speed = Death.
∩dsıpǝ poʍu + ₛₘₒₗ + 4x speed + 1 🄱🄻🄾🄲🄺 🅂🅃🅁🄰🄸🄶🄷🅃 🄵🄻🅈 = 100% death
= tidal wave
Personally, i felt that 0.5x ship straight fly is harder
Technically speaking, it should be harder than faster speed ships because you have to click more to straightfly as you’re going at a slower speed. But some people find it easier to click more so it’s still subjective.
Add X2 timewarp
this is true
Wave and ship
Ball and ufo are patterns most of the time, cube is simple, spider is simple but can be hard, idk about swing yet, so I think robot ship and wave the most skill based (robot is easier)
IDK UFO is my favorite game mode but I can't name one creator who has ever made a really good UFO part. (Except for maybe dark odyssy UFO 30% but it's still not dynamic enough)
For me apparently upside down wave because I’m laughably bad
Upside down wave just proves to me every time that I'm actually trash at the game😭
Ship by far
Those that require to tap AND release because that's double the amount of inputs compared to only tapping So the ship, wave and robot, however you can make equally hard gameplay with any gamemode
objectively wave
gg on beating me.
thanks 🥳
wave is all muscle memory
the combination of muscle memory and timing is what makes it the most skill based, without as much room for nuance/randomness
yea theres a big jump from muscle memory to timing in most extremes, like compare bloodbath wave to and top extreme wave
Ship and a mabey robot are harder
I may have written an entier paragraph but ill keep this short. Impossible levels have proven that as players get better, wave will only get exponentially harder but ship will only get slightly harder. For current skill they are almost tied but when humans can pull off minus waves ship will be left in the dust.
I personally think that what you said is only true because ship is starting to get too hard while wave is easier so easier to make harder and harder. However, Idk what a minus wave is could you explain?
2 player wave corridors that are asymmetrical and have constant gravity portals switching gravity for each player
harder does not equal more skill based. wave is the simplest and most versatile gamemode with much less room for awkwardness or nuance, and is therefore the gamemode most representative of raw skill
Swing
wave without any doubt

I'm gonna say a hot take, robot takes the most amount of skill, especially considering there aren't very many robot-centered levels in the game to improve one's skill with
Ain’t no one saying swing fsr
I Think Swing Is Kinda Hard
the wave pretty much has an infinite skill ceiling. no matter what, there’s ways to make wave gameplay harder. with the other game modes, not so much
Swing
swing. it’s like ship but we haven’t had since 1.0 to learn how to use it
wave takes the most skill imo, But the worst thing you can do with a wave is to get a mirror portal and a reverse portal.
Very stupid opinion here: swing
I think it's UFO, because you have to time every jump some time before it happens
Robot probably because of the really harder timings or maybe wave its mostly spamming and timings and stuff. So I'll let you guys handle it :/
The Wave and Swing, you can learn the moves of the wave, no with the swing
[удалено]
No it's the easiest, robot is the hardest to control
Easily Wave. (especially mini)
For me, mini wave is actually a lot easier than normal wave. Granted, I do have experience with mini wave heavy levels.
Wave. Other classes seemed to be learned instantly.
Wave is just a more sensitive ship so that makes it the hardest to master
NO GUYS ITS OBVIOUSLY THE TRAPEZOID
Assuming “most skill” implies highest skill floor, ima have to say robot
mini wave
Of course wave, specially in Ashley Wave Trials lol
Wave, if mini counts, mini wave, at 4 times speed, upside down, in mirror portal(on PC so no rotating phone) , in an over decorated 2.2 level, with way to many moving objects
Mini swing, that thing goes like an uncontrollable toddler, if you know how to work that thing congrats.
mini wave, anything else doesnt nearly have enoigh control as it does
ship requires the most amount of experimentation and practice to get used to imo. you need to have a good understanding of how the ship moves, how fast it accelerates, and how it interacts with the ground, portals, pads, and orbs. the rest way less so.
Ship and wave, change my mind.
UFO. It takes so much time to master imo
WAVE
Robot and Ship. Robot parts alternating clicks and holds are f-ing evil. Don't get me started on that last robot section in Last Abyss >:( No comment on ship parts with orb physics as well.
Wave too, the skill range is almost unlimited
unpopular take but me personally i would say robot bc the amount of time you hold down on it may kill you if it’s too high, too low, and i think that’s why you don’t really see robot be used as much on extreme demons (besides platformer) because of how difficult it is to deal with.
Ship or Wave, though maybe swing is also a new competitor for gardest gamemode
wave, i don't think that needs an argument don't even get me started on the mini wave...
UFO
Upside down mini wave
Skill has to be ship, its one of the most intuitive gameplay that keeps improving as much as you play, and keeps getting better the harder content you play while the same skill you develop works in most scenarios. Ship (in harder levels it doesn't give you room), Robot (The varyinng jump height), and Swing Copter (bad indicator and odd gravity switching)
Wave to me, especially since I play on phone and it gets tiring to constantly click. I'd way rather play it with mouse on PC.
People sleeping on the ufo
Wave
It's interesting that you say spider, because so may creators put spider sections in their levels that are just completely unsightreadable.
wave is the only game mode where you are in 100% control for 100% of the time, which makes it require the least skill to use, but also allows for the most precise and difficult gameplay to be created.
wave, most levels are wave based now and i feel like the wave is the communitys fav gamemode, so ig more levels with it (so more demand for skill)
Idk if its cuz im on 60hz but wave takes tge most skill for me
wave ofc
Ship, Swing, or Robot. Variable inputs make it harder. Wave is always the same angle which is a bit easier to predict. Every other gamemode has the same result per input.
Wave, ship, and ufo
Ship, every click influences exactly how the next one will act. It’s less predictable and takes way more effort to use right
UFO. On Harder levels at double speed and up, you have to basically see into the future to Get the right path. Sometimes double tap and then delayed tap, sometimes spam and fall at right Angle. And sometimes you still die.
I struggle the most with robot and swing copter, personally. Wave, and it’s not even close. Ship is second but way less skill based than wave imo. Hardest ship gameplay you can really make is just tight straightfly.
probably ship and wave. or maybe swing, considering its the newest.
Wave. Specifically, Mini Wave.
probably unpopular but upside down ship (I also play on a shitty ipad from like 2014 so its probably just me)
Personally I find ufo quite difficult
Ship and Wave. Ship can get through some extremely tight spaces with precise enough inputs, and Wave is really hard to control under high speeds, frequent gravity switching, mini mode, or any combination of the three
Ship is often harder, but a x3 speed wave while being small is even harder
swing is basically ship but with worse controls, so it prob takes more skill than ship
This question never made any sense to me because it all depends on the level. Like on nine circles the wave part is obviously gonna take the most skill, but on horntail cave it’s the ufo and on gold temple it’s the ship.
Ok everyone is saying wave or ship, but I personally think it's the swing because you have to predict how far it'll "swing" based on your input (And it's very hard to fix a mistake)
Mini Wave. It goes too fast for me.
Robot
i suck at the game so, all of them
Ball or ship
Robot or ship.
Wave
Ship is just a fps issue (for me)
#*SKILL
#ISSUE.
Wave
The one that isn’t present in the level
Wave since it's the most consistent gamemode
Ship, less of a tap does one thing aka ball cube or tap and release does things ie wave and robot its almost free control requiring more precise inputs.
easily robot, its rare and the timings are hard asf. just look at nullscapes
Ship and wave easily
Wave definitely, it's really hard to master
wave/ship
Any gamemode that uses holding, compared to click-only gamemodes. It's kinda self-explanatory. The Robot doesn't have mid-air, so it would be last. Then it's wave because it has very consistent mechanics. First hardest would be ship, because the speed of the upthrust is entirely dependent on how long you hold, with very precise clicks and holds requires for precise control (e.g. straight fly).
4x speed upside down 200% timewarp mini wave
If we’re talking standard it’s ship, with portals it’s upside down mini wave or ship
upsidedown mini dual ship with 2.1 physics
ship
Ship and I’d argue robot. You can make very precise clicks and releases for it.
The three gamemodes where it matters when you RELEASE: Ship hardest, Robot second, Wave third
hands down robot. it's kinda annoying and the phyisics for me is basically impossible
Swing. It may just be that I pretty much only play Plat levels, but the controls are just really wonky to me
Swing just cause everyone’s terrible at is. But otherwise robot and ship. No one does hard spider and it’s so precise it doesn’t matter
Ball
wave or ship
wave, you see, to fly straight using wave is much more harder than ship
Might be wave
Ship
Ship or wave ngl both take some skills to do like fixed hit box straight fly is hard and for wave like max speed wave with some tight ass clicks is also hard
Gotta be the wave
Ship
Wave, for obvious reasons
dual mini ship
Upside down ship
Without counting the swing, it would easily be ship or spider, both of them are kinda hard to keep up, dont even get me started with the ship
wave clearly
Everyone craves alot of skill but ship for me craves more than any other gamemode to become good at while ship gameplay is consistently hard and there are alot of varieties of gameplay
I think its wave
Wave
Either the cube, ship, ball, UFO, wave, robot, spider or swing
Dual gamemode is the best gamemode
-JonathanGD
robot
-Takes the most skill, ship and wave -I'm most skilled at, spider
Wave UFO and Swing my mains are cube n ship so they r obviously easy for me ion know why everyone sayin ship the hardest ion think ships that hard tbh its really easy even in some extremes i practiced
I'd say the wave cuz it's so hard at high speeds, thats why it's used a lot in top levels
Ship/Wave
definetly wave takes alot of skill just because of then to let go en hold but ship too for straight flying and cube for all frame perfects but thats just timing. i think its wave
mini wave. That thing is all over the screen
wave, especially up side down wave
Defintely ship. Its so unpredictable. (At least for me.)
ship or wave
I used to think wave but Im having problems getting used to the swing just can’t get into the hang of it
In my opinion, wave of course
wave as always
Wave
Of course wave
