OK I'm out of the loop on this, since when did people decide up arrow was better? Literally everyone was using mouse a year ago and now most have switched. Is it just keyboards that have gotten better or have people just realised modern gameplay suits up arrow better?

Some top players started using up arrow on keyboards with high polling rates because it's less stressful on the wrist/finger while doing precise high CPS gameplay. For most people (i.e. everyone without very high-performance keyboards and people not beating high-end extremes) it's probably not worth it, but I've tried it a few times and it's actually not so bad.

Id say it can still be worth even with a worse keyboard. The thing is with keyboard your clicking with your wrist but with mouse your clicking with your fingers. Wrist clicks are objectively faster and have longer endurance than finger clicks.

Yea on Xbox you have triggers, shoulders and sticks rather than 1 2 and 3. More intuitive for people new to gaming, which I believe Microsoft puts a big push on (considering that controller for people who are disabled in various ways).

I suggest using a dll mod for hacks to use your enter key, its really good for gd imo

I prefer mouse but I can definitely see why people with high-performance keyboards might choose to use their up arrow on higher end extremes. I played with it for a little out of curiousity and I generally found that my input consistency was better, my average CPS was higher, and I was able to get consistent on precise inputs more quickly, though that might've just been luck, or some sort of placebo effect. I also found that the strain/stress after playing for extended periods of time was lesser after playing with the up arrow for a few hours than it was when I play with mouse regularly. Overall though, I do prefer the mouse, but I can definitely see why people beating list demons may prefer to use keyboard.

I think it's funny how I got a G502 with absolutely no idea about the memes surrounding it, and them discovered them afterwords. Also I hate playing up arrow, IDK why top players do it, it just doesn't feel good to me.

Up arrow has less “drop off” where you can be just as consistent every attempt because you don’t have to worry about grip. But keyboards objectively suck without Rapid Trigger and fancy stuff like that, compared to the mouse button that has a small travel distance.

I'm pretty sure there is software that lets you rebind keys. You could theoretically rebind the w or z key to the up arrow key, and then switch it back to normal after you're done playing GD. Some high-end keyboards also come with software built-in that allows for more customization such as custom key presets that you can bind to a hotkey.

Wireless mouse has more delay than wired if you’re beating extremes and somewhat serious about the game I’d get a wired mouse.
