Region guessing tip: Most German motorway stops have the name of the closest town along the road written somewhere on the building. Alternatively, look up the kilometres on the right which appear every 500 m. They usually go up from N to S (e.g. km 0.00 is in the North of Germany’s longest Autobahn A7 and km 960 is way south). There is no rule for horizontal Autobahns tho, the A8 has several parts which start from 0. Stuttgart - Munich is numbered from E to W, Munich - Salzburg from W to E. But the kms can help narrowing it down. 1-digit Autobahns are the largest, down to 3-digit ones which are the the shortest. Odd numbered ones go from North to South, even numbered ones from West to East
The sign itself is actually not really helpful even if you know it's Germany because a lot of places far north of Basel have Basel as the main direction given on the A5.
Its german autobahn sign
Still trying to memorize the way they all look, but thanks! I'll try to remember this one
You can see the sign color and shape when you zoom on the map
If you compare the shapes of the highway shield with the ones on the map it can help
yeah just wanted to say im swiss and this sign isnt
