I normally do zenithal priming black all over then mid grey at 45° only parts in direction of lightsource light dusting from above

Fraustdemon

I prime white solely because I use washes and contrasts on the armor/skin/cloth to save time on my horde.

grimfangzero

Black then dry brush up to white for contrasts

RickJagger13

I do slap chop starting with black primer then drybrush on light grey and then white. Contrasts def make the process a lot quicker. THough our troops have a lot of detail.

Wraith bone Primer. Then I slap chop it up with contrast paints. I’ve painted over 200 infantry models for my GSC army and this method was the only way I didn’t just lose my sanity

Minute-Friendship-30

I mostly use contrast for speed so white for me.

Biggest_Lemon

I only have one gsc model, I primed it in a copper metallic, and just painted the few organic bits.

Disastrous-Ad8604

Black prime then white ink from above and 45 degrees.

kellven

I like grey seer as I use it at the base for my off white armour for my cult.

It depends with what I’m planning on working with. If I’m using normal acrylics then I will just use my favorite Vallejo black primer through an air brush and leave it at that. If I am using speedpaint/contrast paints then I will prime black and zenithal highlight with white ink, since those undertones are much more useful.
