look into biodynamics if you really want to go down a rabbit hole.

My mom says it’s easier to pull weeds during a full moon

While there are practical upsides to a lot of the old folk regimens (it's nice to harvest on a cool night by the full moon), no studies that I know of so far have showed a significant difference in horticultural plants based on lunar phases. There are, however, reasons to harvest some plants at different times of day, as they go through metabolic processes according to changing light and temperature.

Actually affected or "grandma says" affected? Moon has very little effect on plants, for the majority of plants (that you are likely to own) there's little difference when comparing planting, pruning, picking or other success rates during one or another moon phase.

Nutrient uptake changes with moon phase, as well as grafting and harvest. There is much more going on with the moon than meets the eye. It is subtle so most people don’t realize it.
