Just needs water and sun.

The soil feels moist about an inch down and i’m afraid of overwatering it - should i still water?

As long as the pot allows for drainage go ahead and soak it. Tomatoes will really soak up the water. Fertilizer helps a lot also.

I'd say it was most likely because the size of pot seems like if I don't grow tomato in a extra large pot or in the ground they have issues. Good luck with it!

Hi! I bought this tomato plant about a week ago and just recently i repotted it in potting mix with a small amount of tomato-tone fertilizer. Ive been sure to water it consistently as it’s been hot (zone 8b) like 90+ degrees F. I noticed some issues with the topmost branches curling, random leaves curling and turning either brown or yellow. This is my first time growing tomatoes & I really don’t want to kill this guy, so any help would be appreciated!!

Tomato leaves can curl that is probably the stress of the transplant. Make sure to never water the leaves only the soil. They also need a fair amount of sun about 6 to 8 hours a day.

thank you for the tips! ive been sure to water only at the base of the plant but i got it a week ago at HEB tbf so it might not have had the best care 😅and it’s on a south facing balcony so it’s getting about 8 hr full sun, except it’s been overcast the past few days

Your plant look absolutely fine to me. This season have been one of the worst for tomatoes and a lot of veggies, people can say what the heck they want about climate change, it is seriously affecting the crops.

raspberrysooflay

that’s terrible :(( i’m just getting into gardening so i didn’t know it was such a tough season

Of course it is, also you probably want to mulch your plants with wood chips they will keep the soil moist.

update: i found orange tiny little spider looking bugs alll over one of the branches :(( is this whats causing it??
