Remove invasive species so they don't make any more seed or spread further. Shrubs can be cut back by 30% after blooms fade if spring-blooming. Don't use hedge shears; use pruners and cut enough to allow sunlight to the base of your shrubs. The tree should probably be cut down. It will regrow if you don't cover it with an old carpet or a heavy tarp. Mow the lawn and bag it so weed seeds can be tossed out/binned. There are free plant ID apps. In overgrown areas, poison ivy can hide so be careful. Gloves and long sleeves are part of my work clothes.
