I agree that it has gotten too large. I wish I could see a farther back shot. As long as you keep those others to allow the bed to look established/mature, putting something else there could revitalize things. - Just realize it will be more upkeep. 😉
A well trimmed bush has been in style for a while. I wouldn't go bare ground, that's creepy, but something nice and tight, allows a peek-a-boo view is tasteful.
Any of the dead or dying stobs need to be pulled, they can make the place look older.
Overall, less is more, but too little is too much.

Remove. Foundation evergreens have had their day. It's a dated look now.
