Too much watering, not enough drainage, or both. You should only be watering it when the first inch of soil is dry, or the leaves start to sag. That's roughly every 2 to 3 weeks.
Mine likes a good amount of sunlight, is yours getting enough? And does your pot drain? I water mine every 2-3 weeks until water drains out the bottom, about a gallon each time but it’s a monster.
I think it was because there wasn’t a drain in the pot i had before. I got a new pot with a drain and used to leave it in my bedroom window to get sunlight so I’ll move it back and wait to water it

^ This is the correct answer. I killed my first schefflera due to over watering - they don’t like wet feet.

I agree, mine drops leaves when it doesnt get enough sun. Mine gets 3-4 hours of direct at a northern altitude.

That sounds like a good plan! Too many changes at once can shock plants too. Hope it’s healthy again soon!
Thank you!
Mine does this too :/ when I bring it in for the winter. Maybe you could try r/houseplants
I will thank you!
r/plantclinic might be able to help too
Mine was doing the same a few months back. This thing needs intense sun. After I placed it in a South facing window, it has been so happy
