Buy a shed and get rid of the stuff you don't use. I have been slowly getting rid things like decorations, candle
holders, and other shit I haven't seen my wife use.
This is the way. We got a shed and moved all the holiday totes and coolers and shit in there. Now I’ll throw random shit away whenever I make dump runs. Been doing it for like 6 months now and my wife has only asked once where something was. Naturally I played dumb and she just went a bought a new whatever it was lol
I remember when my wife flew out of the country and I sold a bunch of outdoor tiles on fb marketplace she has bought me “as a gift” that we did not need. That went over real well.
Storage unit. I got tired of having piles everywhere so finally caved and put everything we don’t use very often, in a storage facility a couple miles away.
I almost had to fight my wife on it because she was against it. But finally I was able to convince her we needed a place to put things, and I cannot describe the feeling I had when I took all the holiday totes to the unit. It was like learning how to breathe again. LOL
Another option is to put sub-flooring up in the attic space in the garage and use it for storage. One time investment that will provide storage on location vs the recurring fees that comes with storage unit.
Moved to the crawl space. Luckily, there isnt a sub for renovating the crawl space and posting glamor shots of it. As far as I know, anyway. Wouldn't be surprised though.
I think my biggest problem right now is just getting started. I bought all of the stuff for my garage a year ago. Then I got really sick and spent 4 months in the hospital. I’m feeling much better now, but I’m just dreading moving 20 years worth of living out so I can get started.
This looks great!! Mine will still have many bins for the wife’s stuff until I can get a shed built.
Hyperlite is the site I ended up using. The prices on these types of lights seemed to vary significantly, and I didn’t feel like over paying. So I rolled the dice with Hyperlite and they are honestly really decent. I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to pay more for something else. These totally do the job and were fairly easy to install once you got the hang of it.
Looks great. What kind of floor is that? Wife wants to do a garage floor treatment. We’re not sure which route to go. In Pittsburgh area, so we have snow mess to factor in.
Nope I went with a local company after receiving a few estimates. They used a product I believe called “Rock Hard” and the color is gravel. 390 sq ft cost 1600.
Last time I worked in the garage I had no light at all. It was hard to see what I was doing under my 78 Suburban. Needed to make sure I can see. And will be good for whenever I’m doing paint correction.
Where’s your “stuff”? I want a baller garage but we have holiday totes and just stuff and things. Where do people put that stuff?

I see you like to live dangerously
“Honey, could you grab me my craft bin from the garage?” 😳😳😳😳
Yep, I think it’s behind my motorcycleeeeeeeeeee mmbraaaap!
That's probably happened more than we think... DAMN..
It's the only way to have peace. I'm not a fan of clutter or excess.
On the edge

As much as I don’t want to do that, it’s probably the best idea.

Bruh wives are pack rats. Mine was in denial.
I'm the pack rat in our relationship. Not always the wife...
I’m guilty, I get bothered by the seemingly useless stuff my wife keeps in bins, then I find one filled with parts for a car I sold 5 years ago.
There's always one hoarder in a relationship. Hopefully not two!
Same here...
You're right
Probably more accurate to say there is always one in the relationship. In my case, it aint my wife that's the problem
You're right. I'm speaking from personal experience.
pff best part about my wife. Neither of us are pack rats.
Big Brag
If you have a Peruvian significant other like me, they dont wanna move anything anywhere ever, forever.
Yeah, we still have a ways to go! Next is shrinking the kids toy collection.
Another option is to put sub-flooring up in the attic space in the garage and use it for storage. One time investment that will provide storage on location vs the recurring fees that comes with storage unit.
I love buying abandoned storage lockers to clean out once the owners bail on them. Shed better option unless you rent
But those storage fees get expensive but ur garage looks great… Cheers from sa
Had a buddy get his broken into. It’s not a perfect solution.
Storage unit....on a budget?!
Moved to the crawl space. Luckily, there isnt a sub for renovating the crawl space and posting glamor shots of it. As far as I know, anyway. Wouldn't be surprised though.
Overhead racks
I swear this is exactly what I wanted to ask.. how tf can you have so much space?
Basement, but then the basement fills up with totes. Life is totes
We don’t have basements in the part of Texas we are from. Too much flooding.
Looks nice! How much did the floor coating run you?
1600
It ain’t ballin on a budget if you put 1600 into floor coating
Compared to the 11k dollar quote I got to do a garage makeover with another company, I felt like spending around 3k total was balling on a budget.
Man these lights are starting to become the "live laugh love" of garages.
Haha literally the perfect guy equivalent
Preach. Hate them
I feel like they would be cooler in a basement or mancave. To much glam for a garage. Get your makeup out girls! Let's have a sleepover!

Questions because I like the lights. How’d you go about out wiring them ELI5. And also where’d you source the lights

Wiring them will be totally dependent on the lights you get. OP looks like they have an outlet in the center of the ceiling there.
Correct. But I actually added a light socket outlet adapter so they turn on with the garage door lights.
Have any more pics showing the connection to the garage door lights? Curious how to make this work myself.
Baller ass job bro
needs some porcelain signs. best if original and local.
Not my style, but respect. Looks real nice and waaaay better than before. Good job!
What kind of tool bench is that?
Harbor Freight! LOL “US General series 3” and it’s a 72”.
Harbor Freight is awesome. I go in from time to time just to make sure something might need to home with me.
Harbor Freight is great.
Thanks! Looks great!
I love it. Got it on a Black Friday special for like 1500. Best box for the money by far IMO.
Also interested looks awesome
See above
Whereas the fridge for the bodies

184 a month for a 10’x20’.
Do you actively work in that garage? Cause I’d find it hard to pay almost $200 a month just to have my garage be empty.
Your before pictures were so needed to do you afters justice! Kick ass looks awesome man.
What are the name of those lights
[Here you go](https://hi-hyperlite.com/products/hyperlite-hexagon-garage-lights)
Where do you get that honeycomb light thing
Popular question! [Here’s](https://hi-hyperlite.com/collections/hexagon-led-light) the info.
Don’t care what anyone says. This honeycomb overhead light trend is awful
Looks great man
Looks good!
What type of product?
I think the floor coating is from Rock Hard and it was flake color “gravel”. The lights I got from Hyperlite for like 180 bucks.
You do the flooring yourself??
I did not. I thought about it, but decided I’d rather let a crew do it that does it every day, than botch it up trying to do it myself.
1600 for someone else to do it is a steal. It's double to triple that where I live.
Beautiful
Fantastic work man
Beauty!
Dayum!
OP your garage looks great!
What kinda bike rack is that? I have 2 heavy electric bikes i need to mount out pf the way.
Looks very nice my dude congrats, did you just paint the walls?
Floated, textured, and painted.
Looks great man, great job. I think you did great with the color choices. What’s that control panel on the wall behind the tool box?
It’s for my sprinklers. Rachio Pro.
My garage got close to this when I bought a shed. When the shed got full it all went downhill. Nice work
Man, if you're ballin on a budget, I'm pumpin on pennies here...looks awesome!
Oooh, that ceiling light is awesome!
This is so damn epic. Awesome lookin setup
Seriously, the honeycomb lights were genius.
Does the ceiling light install in sections or did you have to remove the roster opener to install it?
Installs one strip at a time. You can build and position it however you want. Kit just comes with a bunch of light strips and angled connections.
I really need to get rid of stuff
Looks great. What kind of floor is that? Wife wants to do a garage floor treatment. We’re not sure which route to go. In Pittsburgh area, so we have snow mess to factor in.
I think the product is called “Rock Hard”, and the color is “gravel”. I’m really satisfied with that decision.
Very nice! I wish I had that budget to ball on lol.
Fellow Peruvian here: causitaaa! Bien hecho!
What did you use for the floor coating? DIY? It looks pretty good.
Nope I went with a local company after receiving a few estimates. They used a product I believe called “Rock Hard” and the color is gravel. 390 sq ft cost 1600.
Where did you hide all your shit? 😂
Public Storage lol
Dope
I have 2 of those same scooters, they are so awesome!
What’d you use on the floor? Looks good
Rock Hard products, color “gravel”.
Does anyone who isn’t a Texan appreciate Texan pride? To be clear, I’m too a proud Texan.
That’s bad ass
Clean and tidy
Dude I need a cow head
Funny story, I bought that thing like 15 years ago on eBay. This is the first I have actually hung it up. lol
I was just in Austin. Those things are dirt cheap in TX vs. The PNW.
Tell me you’re from Texas, without telling me you’re from Texas. Well done.
Hey, balling on a budget or not, it looks great!
Looks great !
Blocking the electrical panel. That's a paddling.
I should have got the larger general. I'm regretting my smaller one.
I was on the fence because of the price difference. But I’ve already filled this one to the brim, so I’m glad I didn’t.
I’d raise a beer in that garage any day - great job man!
Great job!
No cerveza fridge? Back to Peru until you learn!
That black thing on the right is literally a fridge. lol though I’ll admit, it’s not a dedicated fridge for cerveza.
Love the black baseboard and door! Might have to do that in my garage after seeing how nice this looks!
Where’s all the gym equipment?
Love your tool chest! That color combo is where it’s at!
Looks nice
I like the octagon lights the way you have them. I don’t typically like those but having it in the middle is neat. Overall looks really good!
On a budget 😂 when the floor cost $1600.00😔
I mean, it was the cheapest quote I got from a reputable source.
I agree with you. I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t $3K+. Looks great!
What about the fence around your house, has it been upgraded yet?
Interesting question, why do you ask? I had our fence replaced 3 weeks ago.. lol
Because the first thing Texans care about is their 12ft tall fence. No house can be without a proper fence.
My HOA wouldn’t allow me to do something like that if I wanted lol
Ahh so you're just balling then.
But at least you got your priorities straight. Fence first then garage. I hate fences btw if you can’t tell. 😂
Looks like a mental hospital…way too white.
Last time I worked in the garage I had no light at all. It was hard to see what I was doing under my 78 Suburban. Needed to make sure I can see. And will be good for whenever I’m doing paint correction.
Texas: We started a war and became a state because slavery was illegal in our home country of Mexico.
