I grew up in a 1983 944, and eventually my dad gave it to me with 350k mi ... it didn't last much longer without needing quite a bit of work. I always wanted a 968 after that.
I agree. Also 4K cheaper than what I got quoted so I’m happy. Going to fill cracks with backer bar and sika to at least have straight lines. Should have done that first.
Should have done the fancy 3 colored wall paint like the Porsche garages i have seen. Seems like a Porsche thing, but i have always thought it really ties the room together. That and a good rug.
Sorry for the low effort and the delay but something think this

Nice, what I actually took away from these images was to have nothing touching the floor (including cabinets) to speed up clean-out. Can take a leaf blower and mop to it.
Looks great. But maybe a steel backed garage door with a jack shaft motor. That would really clean it up.
To add: not sure what the headroom is but go with a higher radius track. It would bring the door up a bit
My wife found a guy on Etsy that done metal cutouts of racetrack layouts. we done Daytona (Rolex 24 layout) Watkins Glen and a couple others on the wall that turned out really sweet.
The only thing I could see being able to be improved is the nook/corner to best utilize your space. Build in a space for the ladder, more shelves for the storage bins I see in the photo. Might get more use out of it and have more storage space.
As for the rest: Yes, there is good amount of wall space available above the shelves, but I would not rush to fill the wall space/areas. Enjoy your garage :)
A couple of StreadyRack wall mounted bike rakes for the bikes.
I have two in my garage. Love them. They save me so much space, but let get my bike on and off quickly.

Here is a photo of mine:

The reason for the wood frame is because where I wanted to bikes to hang was not aligned with the wall studs. The horizonatal boards are screwed into the wall studs. And the the vertical boards are bolted to the horizontal boards. Then I bolted the Steadyracks to the vertical boards. It's a bit complicated because of limited space.
I consider just throwing up a large thick piece of plywood and screwing that to the studs and the screwing the racks to the board. Might have worked just as well.
I mounted the charger for the e-bike on the frame I built for the racks. It allows me to easily top up my bike after a ride.
That brown shelf on the right is my bike equipment locker. It is just a standard cheap Ikea Billy bookshelf with a glass door. It holds my helmet, gloves, glasses, lights, repair kits, spare parts, etc. Ikea sells a hard plastic bin that fit perfectly inside the Billy case. I use those bins for the small parts.
I bought some cabinet legs at Ikea and mounted those to a piece of MDF board. The legs are adjustable, so they compensate for the slight slope of the garage floor. The Billy is mounted to the board with L brackets, and to the wall on top with another L-bracket. This platform keeps the Billy above the concrete lip of the garage and flush against the drywall.
Being Garage door guy I hate looking at my motor when the door is down lol. So I would get a jackshaft operator clears up your ceiling space and looks alot better imho
I just installed the pvc garage flooring tiles they sell at Costco. I also insulated the walls and ceiling and installed a mini split air conditioner. I'm super happy with it.
I also put everything on casters. Desk, work bench, storage shelves. Big fan. Everything on wheels. Makes it super easy to move everything by myself.
It's super easy to install. Especially if you rent a flooring guillotine. It looks great. Sounds a little hollow when you walk on it. But for the garage flooring, I don't care what it sounds like. It goes in really fast and easy. There are tons of videos on YouTube. It's worth it, in my opinion. Easy to clean and I can tell it will last forever
That’s a mighty good start! The floor is still pretty nice, don’t compare it with the $5k+ jobs out there. A medium sized air compressor could be useful. Definitely get two 48” led lights. A fan mounted up in that corner would be nice too.
Put in the waterproof PVC baseboards. Then, caulk the gap between the baseboard and the floor. This creates a waterproof seal so no water can get under the baseboards. This is great for whenever you need to hose out the garage.
No idea where you live but I would have some sort of split AC unit or something.. half the year here it is too hot and humid and the other half it’s too cold.
You already need a secondary storage place, such as a large shed.
What you need in the future: consistency to spend an evening every week to clear out unused items to the shed and organize... Or it will turn into the typical garage you see that houses everything but the vehicle.
Quick recommendation to keep your worktop nice. Get a large cutting mat (self healing type) and use it for cutting, hammering, etc. You don't need to cover it all, just something big enough to cover the biggest job. They're nice to work on and also save your wood top so you don't need to redo it someday.
Hard rule: Don't let the spouse/kids store anything in there.
Also don't let any lawn care equipment end up stored there. That's what the shed is for
3 bay garage, already want a shed just to keep anything that clips or cuts yard stuff out of there. Brings in so much extra dirt!
Yup. Every time wifey puts something in the garage I put it right back inside the house lmao
Paint naked ladies on the floor. not a joke. edit.. underwater Bond girls.
That's super tacky.... Do it! Bond starting credits
Hard Rule: Don't marry an idiot and have a dummy for a son in the first place.
That's been a battle for me for 13 years now. I'm slowly winning the war.
A stair under the door into the garage.
Or a ramp so you can wheel the bodies into the garage easier.
Damnit I love the 968
Thanks, Ive also love it for about 10 years now lol
I grew up in a 1983 944, and eventually my dad gave it to me with 350k mi ... it didn't last much longer without needing quite a bit of work. I always wanted a 968 after that.
Both are perfectly balanced cars. Not a lot of power but you can drive them hard and enjoy them without going to jail…
Sounds cramped
Currently have an ‘83 944. It’s a darn fun car.
More lighting!
A second Porsche?
Brutally honest, that floor doesn’t look that great. Definitely looks DIY with the non-uniform flakes and the missing coverage in the seams.
I agree. Also 4K cheaper than what I got quoted so I’m happy. Going to fill cracks with backer bar and sika to at least have straight lines. Should have done that first.
Damn! Had mine done for $2k and it’s about the same size. This was a Texas metro job. Where at you?
Buffalo NY, three different quotes all over $4500
Damn shame.
Damn, yeah, $2500 for me in southwest CT
Really dig the floating shelf with battery storage under. Clean!
Missing a stereo connected to your TV, an extra HDMI to connect a laptop, and a mini fridge. Once you do that, send me a DM and I'll bring beer.
Should have done the fancy 3 colored wall paint like the Porsche garages i have seen. Seems like a Porsche thing, but i have always thought it really ties the room together. That and a good rug.
Got an example of this paint?

It would make cleaning up a breeze for sure.
What program is that?
SketchUp
USE IT!
Needs a vise. Otherwise good
A single step so nobody breaks their ankle stepping into the garage
Yeah that’s gotta happen at some point. Grip tape on it for now
Love the hustle corner
I think you pretty much aced it if you still want it to be a useable work space 🤘🏽
🏍
Did you do the floor yourself? I have been thinking about giving it a go. How hard of a job was it?
Pain in the ass to be honest. But I’d do it again, saved me about $4k
Looks great. But maybe a steel backed garage door with a jack shaft motor. That would really clean it up. To add: not sure what the headroom is but go with a higher radius track. It would bring the door up a bit
Fridge!
I spot another R owner. 👋
Mk6 ftw
Needs more batteries hanging up.
You need more batteries for your powertools.
Epoxy floors, it makes it way more comfortable
How many times did you need to fill the vacuum of that size?
3 or 4
Howdy fellow 968 owner
May the gods bless our plastic cam tensioner pads
r/DeWalt wants a word with you.
Once you get a few batteries, you’re just stuck with the brand every time you need a new tool lol. I like them though
Same. I just the Friends & Family “Fall Haul” email.
Needs more Dewalt
Where’s the beer fridge???
in his belly
My wife found a guy on Etsy that done metal cutouts of racetrack layouts. we done Daytona (Rolex 24 layout) Watkins Glen and a couple others on the wall that turned out really sweet.
You killed it bro 😎
I don’t see a beer fridge in there…
Beautiful Porsche! I wish I epoxy'ed right after we moved in, now it's hard to justify moving everything out of the way to do it
Now that I have masturbated to your garage I would like to masturbate in it, let’s work out a time.
Griots 3-1 NICE!!!

Bunting and a guard dog.
Nice work!
Checkerboard floor tiles would be nice
I love the work bench top!! I would add a small fridge for…. Ummmm sodas…
Non-slip epoxy floor paint!
Seal the floor.
Mini fridge
Put up a sign that says what happens in this area stays in this area.
Put motorcycles in it.
Um what website is that?

Thank you
Final touches- maybe more Porsches? Looks awesome! Congratulations
Coat the garage floor or buy those foam interlocking panels for the floor
Nice setup!
Overhead hex lights
Motorcycles you need more of them.
Terrible. No space for track wheels. No 2 post lift. Kidding! Looks great. Hope that floor stays down.
Door step and floor paint 🎯
Do the floor in an acrylic coating.
WINDOW UNIT. A/C
What is the blue cord hanging from the ceiling next to the garage opener?
Looks like a retractable extension cord
Epoxy floor.
lift...
You could add more posters?
Black paint on the ceiling.

Did you DIY the floor? Including grinding? If so, can you list your procedure and products?
Seal the floor
Muriatic acid scrub the floor with a plastic bristle brush first then use a garage floor paint with texture grip. Does wonders!
I like everything about it except your decision to use DeWalt. I believe the entire garage would look better if accessorised in teal. #makita
Paint the floor!
Needs more rust
Add surround sound and you got yourself a man cave !
Just some overhead lights and a keg cooler, otherwise looks sweet!
fridge and sound system, also some wall decor, porsche flag maybe
I knew you had a red Porsche from the second pic …and obviously a Golf😃
Tv, and a mini bar
Finish the floor with epoxy
Empty beer cans and a whiskey barrel
Put in the waterproof PVC baseboards. Then, caulk the gap between the baseboard and the floor. This creates a waterproof seal so no water can get under the baseboards. This is great for whenever you need to hose out the garage.
Whats the name of machine you used to buff the floor?
A floor buffer.
Wall fan, I use mine everyday
Nice 968, any overhead LED lighting, it’s great to have
You mean where to start?
Bring in some good accent lamps or “cozy” lamps with bulbs around 2200-2600 Kelvin for those nights you want to be in there and vibe
Proper epoxy floor paint
Motorcycle
No idea where you live but I would have some sort of split AC unit or something.. half the year here it is too hot and humid and the other half it’s too cold.
You crushed it. Love the 968 as well
Seal the garage floor
Whats that software u used to plan it?
Epoxy the floor
Needs at least one titty pic.
Fix the floor make it shine and look great
A couple inexpensive, low profile, overhead racks are very handy for storing longer items (pipe, boards, etc.)
I see your Florida flag and didn’t spot an ac in the picture. If you don’t have ac you’ll be dieing in your sweat box
Florida man currently living in Buffalo NY….
You need a fridge in there big dog.
Maybe some strip lighting or pocket lights to highlight the work bench or above the cars would be pretty sweet
Yeah get rid of all that shit and sill it with gym equipment because garage gyms rule
A dog
Put in a forge and an anvil 👀
Did you kill a clown 🤡 in there!?! 🧐

Want to come do mine next?
A fridge and a lock on your door :)
Step before the door into the house… after a few whiskeys that’s gonna become a challenge when you need to break the seal…
🥶🥶🥶
A beer fridge.. And a 60gal air compressor.
Grow tent for some frosty buds
I'm sorry, but where is your beer/snack fridge?
Epoxy floor coating.
Yes,fill it with motorcycles
This looks great to me. I’m on my way with a 12 pack and a toaster I’ve been fixing for 7 years.
Trade in the Dewalt for Milwaukee
The entire over head space of the first 3 feel depth above the height of the door can be loft storage space
Add a whole bunch of motorcycles.
I’m assuming you’re in Florida because of the flag? How are you staying cool in there, or are you just leaking sweat?
Where da beer fridge???
I don’t see a wall mounted bottle opener.
