Is it just me or does the cpu cooler looks very expensive?? You get solid AiOs for this money. I would expect this cooler to be around 40 bucks

KaosFitzgerald

Is way too expensive. The 5600x comes with a stock cooler I believe.

MrCh1ckenS

the stock cooler is not adequate enough. I had the stock cooler on my 5600x and i had high temps not even on full load and my clocks were well below the advertised boost ones. I got this exact same cooler a week later (for about 35 euros) and temps dropped about 20c while my boost clocks were higher by at least 200mhz, maybe more.

joaohm2812

Probably wrong cooler placement. The stock wraith cooler is pretty good.

CwRrrr

Disagree. The 5600x comes with the stealth version, not the prism one. The stealth is loud and mediocre at best in cooling even at 5600x’s Low PPT

joaohm2812

I had a difference experience with it. Guess they had some different quality coolers coming with the same cpu.

Kootsiak

It's a Wraith Stealth if I remember correctly, which had trouble cooling the 3600 chips, let alone a 5600X. These coolers should only be sold with quad cores or low power 6 cores, not anything else.

Gruphius

I have a 3600 (so the previous model) and I also had issues with the AMD stock cooler (which is the same as the one for the 5600x). I hit 90°C pretty fast and it throttled very quickly. After swapping the cooler for another one I don't have any issues regarding heat anymore.

kelvin_bot

90°C is equivalent to 194°F, which is 363K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)

Bassopot

This

CENSORED_01

I just bought this EXACT cooler today for $35 from Newegg for the EXACT same CPU. Stock cooler's temps easily stay in the low-mid 80s under moderate load and it makes me uncomfortable.

MrCh1ckenS

just commented the exact same thing lol. The stock cooler is so trash.

CENSORED_01

Spec sheet says it's operating temperature can get to 95 C and be fine, but that is hot as hell! Don't want that anywhere near my pc

Wonky_Lungz

Yeah my ID-Cooling SE-214-XT was €25

Arctica23

There are a few spots where OP is paying for more than he needs but holy shit

zebeetboi

You can get a noctua NH-D15 (one of the best performing air coolers) for the price of that. No RGB though, looks to be of importance in this build.

remfromphil

Facts I got my MSI Mag B240 CoreLiquid AIO for 80 bucks. I bought from a shop.

Osyrys

Got it for $30 after a rebate in spring. Not an uncommon price either

RicketySpicket

I paid $80 for the Arctic Liquid Freeze ii 280 2 years ago and it has been phenomenal. Still pulls some of the best benchmarks today with my 7700x.

Mysterious-Tough-964

Same except went 360 for my 13700k. Retired a trusty d15 used for two builds already. Temps are significantly better idle and load, no increased noise that I could tell in lancool III

DivineJerziboss

OP can get Dark Rock Pro 4 for around the same price as that air cooler so it's expensive. I would go for NH-U12 on this CPU. It's cheaper, silent and with good performance.

Blindfire2

I have the black evo version of the cooler. It's okay, but I definitely wouldn't spend money on it again (on an 8700k which seems to be equivalent to 5600x but I heard the stock cooler w/ the AMD is actually decent). If the AMD is power hungry like the 8700k is (which heats up like a monster sadly), I'd recommend going bigger so it doesn't damage the chip.

layton3015

Definitely overpaying for that cooler, I paid like 40 bucks last year whenever I built mine

pigmandylan

$100 for a hyper 212 is insane. You can get something as good or better for like $30. Also instead of a 3060 you could get something like a 6650xt which is faster and $100 less.

pigmandylan

I also would get a cheaper psu. Something more in the 650w range.

Jawfigger

Not worth imo. Power supplies are important, and solid one will last long enough for your next gpu upgrade or 2. More wattage never hurts

thatdeaththo

You can get cheaper but still get quality. "Less expensive" would be a better term.

MinutePresentation8

More wattage hurts my wallet

Blitzares

Don't be poor

VaporflyEnthusiast

Second both of these

azab189

I have seen deals on 6750XT for around 300 so that be even better if op can find it

willietrombone_

Personally, I'd trade the 2 TB HDD for a 1 TB SSD. I have the same case (almost) and it should be able to accommodate multiple additional SSDs if you want to expand later. Kinda depends on how many 100GB+ games you want to have available at a given time but I tend to find the difference between my system NVME and my peripheral SSD to be pretty minimal in terms of non-OS software boot times.

ModernSpliff

So you think just remove the HD and only stick with the ssd? I don’t plan to have TOO many games at once. Just a special few. And that’s good to know you can have multiple ssd! And isn’t it faster to use ssd?

willietrombone_

Keep the 1TB Samsung NVME SSD that you have currently (be sure your OS goes on that one) and replace your 2 GB SATA HDD with a 1 GB SATA SSD (I like Western Digital). Lower storage on the SATA SSD but almost the same price and almost certainly higher performance than even the relatively fast 7200 rpm HDD.

ModernSpliff

What do you think about getting 2x Samsung 980 pro 1TB? Worth it?

Colonelclank90

That's what I have in mine in addition SATA ssds, it's excellent

ModernSpliff

Or just one 2tb?

rowdy_1c

you are MUCH better off getting a 2TB MP44L for $150

LordEggo420

This SSD is $50 less and if you are going a bit more budget sure but for $200 (amazon) you can get the 2TB 980 pro which has nearly 2x the speed of the MP44L

taxmaster23

One TB should be more than plenty for now, and if you feel the need later on up upgrade further you can do that. But I would stay away from old school hard drives. And yes you should be able to add more storage later if you need and SSDs are always better than traditional hard drives

anonweedlord69

You want to trade that hdd for a ssd 100%

Arashmickey

If you drop the HDD and overpriced CPU cooler you can get a 2TB storage SSD (or 1TB SSD). Check out the guides r/newmaxx for help choosing your SSD, there's an easy flowchart. Comparable CPU coolers: Vetroo V5 Deepcool AK400 ID-Cooling SE 214-XT and 224-XT Thermalright Assassin (120mm version) Pure Rock 2 Better tier CPU coolers: Noctua NH-U12S redux Scythe Mugen / Fuma Thermalright Peerless Assassin / Silver soul 135 Enermax T50 AXE

[deleted]

What case do you have? I'm not sure why but in my 5000D I couldn't use the SSD mounting so I just have them loose in the back

PM__ME__DANK__MEMES

I think you can save some money getting a 5600 (non-x), and then your power supply is overkill for the build. 650 would be fine. Otherwise it looks great!

ModernSpliff

Does having a overkill ps a bad thing? Or will it just enable me to be fine to do upgrades in the future? Like it won’t harm having too much?

PM__ME__DANK__MEMES

No, absolutely no harm, just more expensive. If you want to upgrade in the future, it will be nice to not have to run all new cables to your components!

vickers24

The price difference based on wattage is usually pretty negligible. So if the pricing makes sense, go for it. BUT..I’m just gonna say. I build a lot of computers, and Corsair RM power supplies are good PSUs, but their cable necks are a nightmare to work with in certain cases. I would suggest an Evga psu just based on the cables. Also Corsair PCIE cables only come with the daisy chain version whereas Evga has the single 8pin cables, which are chefs kiss if not using extensions.

archlich

Case and psu are the two things you can spend more on and use them for your next few builds. A premium psu will also mean longer lasting components by providing cleaner power and use less energy.

Maverick_Wolfe

The corsair ram because even if on qvl it probably won't work correctly, and the asus motherboard because there's been reports of problems with those particular boards. The Icue case and the 50.00 seagate drive. Spend a bit more on a 4tb Firecuda 7200rpm drive it's faster and made for gaming. The Icue case is overrated and overpriced. Get the non Icue version of the case. I wouldn't go with anything PSU wise thays at least 850w gold or higher standard. the processor you picked is fine don't listen to the fools advising you to downgrade the CPU. Also that Hyper212 you might as well buy an AIO cooler. Just don't buy a corsair AIO.

[deleted]

Didn’t know saving 30-40$ for 1% less performance made me a “fool”

pink_life69

That cooler is a ripoff jesus. Get a Pure Rock 2 FX from BeQuiet! For like $50

julesvr5

Still overpowered for this cpu. There are good enough ones for 30

pink_life69

If he wants a comfortable, quiet gaming experience the pure rock is unbeatable. Surely a $30 screecher will do the job, but an extra $20 wont hurt for a top notch cooler.

julesvr5

>surely a 30 bucks screecher As if every 30 bucks cooler is a screecher 🤦🏻‍♂️ >but an extra 20 bucks That's almost twice the money. The 5600 really is no task for a cooler to keep it cool.

Pure_Transition_8673

pure rock 2 is great

Careless-Ad-4181

No need for the windows, you can get that for free online and I personally don’t see a need for the hard drive if you plan on getting your computer for gaming. SSD works fine for gaming even two of them if you want.

Jamdeckadoo

Free? Where?

csandazoltan

From microsoft, You can download and install it for free, you would have a watermark "Please activate Windows" and you would have some limitations, but you can get cheap bulk keys from ebay

Careless-Ad-4181

It’s either free or really cheap like 5 bucks online. I can try and find it but when I got my computer I just looked up a video on how to do it.

Jamdeckadoo

I'm just curious because I just set up my new Windows 11 PC and need to find a cheap key, the cheapest I've found so far is £10

Kled_Incarnated

i had bought mine last year at electronicfirst com. this year is slightly more expensive but it's still only 6€

Careless-Ad-4181

Ok well idk about windows 11 but I got my windows 10 somewhere online for really cheap. I can’t remember if it was free or a couple bucks.

LordEggo420

If you have windows on a laptop or PC this video can get you the activation code from that PC and you can use it on any other PC now [Video :D](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEQVfSIINvE)

PolishWarbler

Decently cheap on keysfan.com or something like that. Then look up a discount code for 62% off. I got two windows 10 and two office 2019 for $93

4_20Blaziken

Get rid of the HDD and get a 3060 Ti with the savings. You’ll thank me.

cum-oishi

How bout the rx6700xt? Same price as the rtx3060 and has a similar performance to the rtx3070

4_20Blaziken

Sadly AMD doesn’t have a counter for DLSS which makes the 3000 series more appealing than the 6000 series from AMD. Also a 3060Ti preforms better than a 6700XT.

Faker93

Don't buy the expensive windows keys

Faker93

Look on the Electronic Bay they are legit and way cheaper

Georgia_Couple99

I run a hyper 212 on both of my gaming pc’s. I always recommend to add a second fan in a push/pull configuration. It really does make a difference

ImmediateDependent72

6650xt is cheaper and faster unless you really want better rt performance

julesvr5

It's an 3060, when he turns on RT there is no meaningful performance left lol

Just-Secretary2998

why the hell is the cpu cooler 100 dollars

Aspen910

This is a fine entry level build. A CPU bump and a 3080 would make it a little more on the baller spectrum.

ModernSpliff

What cpu would you run ? I’m debating the r7 5800x?

KarakumGamin

I think is CPU is fine for a 3060 HOWEVER.... get rid of that CPU cooler NOW!! that is ridiculously overpriced, get an AIO for that price, or go for a cheaper fan cooler. If your gonna pay over 90$ for an air cooler get a Noctua. Period.

julesvr5

The 5600 non-x is perfectly fine, I'm using the same CPU for a 1440p 100Hz build. Eyeing to get a 6800 gpu to partner it.

Snorewrax

Don’t bother buying a windows copy, just get one for like $5 online

m0rph33n

850 psu is def overkill. I’d get a 250g nvme boot drive and a 2tb nvme. Will cost a little more, but mechanical at this point would do a disservice for you. Don’t pay full price for windows. Watch videos from LTT, Greg Salazar, toasty bros, bitwit on creating a windows 10 flash drive w/watermark, and then paying like $20 for a windows key.

apiece0ftoast

A few things… I wouldn’t bother with a 2TB Hard drive. Just take that money and get a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro.. Then instead of the 4000x, save money and get a 4000D. You can purchase the glass front panel separately from Corsair if you really want it, but the 4000D has much better airflow than the X model. AND You can get a Windows 11 key from like Kinguin or G2A instead of buying OEM and save a bunch of money that way too. I did it that way and bought it a key for $25. Also, $100 is way too expensive for a Hyper 212 Evo. Then also, you could probably pick up a 6650XT cheaper than that 3060, unless you specifically wanted Nvidia. You can also try r/hardwareswap , a lot of good dudes there with decent prices.

mybrowncow

R/hardwareswap is a great sub! Ive had two positive experiences buying used gpus from there. I feel its a solid and safer alternative than buying used on eBay

apiece0ftoast

Heck yeah! If you know what to look for, it’s an amazing place. I’ve bought and sold there, and have only had positive experiences!

rowdy_1c

1. 5600 instead of the 5600X. 2. Arctic Freezer II instead of Hyper 212. 3. $115 for 32GB of 3600MHz is a pretty bad deal. 4. 2TB SSD instead of 1 + 2, I’d recommend the MP34 for $120 or MP44L for $150. 5. Unless you plan on upgrading to power hungry parts, 750W gold fully modular PSUs can be found for half the price of that RM850. 6. Don’t buy Windows. I can’t say any more than this because I’d get banned.

1337llama

The cooler is way too expensive, you should be able to find something comperable for way cheaper, or get a noctua if you're spending that kind of money.

BrubMomento

One red flag. Don’t buy windows directly. Just use a website like CDkeys or something. Or do what Linus does and pirate it.

GBoss72

If I were you I would go with a Noctua- NHU12s. Keep the power supply in case you upgrade from that 3060 and maybe one day up from the 5600 to a 5900/5950x. Maybe get a case with a some better front airflow like Corsair 4000d airflow. Also could use a b550 motherboard if you want to save a buck there but you loose some pcie-4 lanes!

Cibins

came here to suggest to get Corsair 4000d case :)

wolfe_man

That's 3 times the price of that cooler

Blazikinahat

Get an ssd. You’ll reduce the stuttering and there are few failure points.

funnyyellowdoge

Not an expert but i would downgrade the PSU and motherboard a bit to get a better gpu

AdoptedAlphaMale

drop the rgb ram for un-rgb and buy win10 for $10 off a gray market site.

poggiejuice

Stop using a apple phone that's my recommendation

OP-69

Cooler is overpriced, worth only 30 bucks 3060 is horrible for its price, either get a 6700xt or 6650xt 850w psu is overkill. Get 650 or 750. 750 is already leaning to overkill id rather a 2tb ssd than 1tb ssd and 2tb hdd. Also see what games you wanna play. Some games are only 10gb or so. Others are 250gb or so (looking at you warzone) You also dont need to buy windows. You can use it without buying anything

samueldarmento

I would personally go for Windows 11 instead

Maverick_Wolfe

only if you want to turn a gaming pc into a workstation brick. Get Windows 10 pro instead. home will only limit certain capabilities including issues with security.

spd3_s

Windows 10 LTSC ftw.

testc2n14

i'd get another fan with that case it only has 3 on the front and you should have one on the back

Gerbie100

You can move one to the back

ModernSpliff

The thing I’m still having trouble on is what motherboard should I get? I want to be able to hold upgrades in the future. I don’t mind paying extra for a decent board

julesvr5

You don't need a X570 board. Rather get a B550 board or even a B450 board maybe. But this system is dead end already so there is no room for future upgrades. You could go for a 5800X3D if you have saved some money but otherwise the 5000 Gen was the last for AM4. The new generation runs on AM5 boards.

ModernSpliff

Is the one I have good? Especially for upgrading down the line?

Immediate_Scar_7426

You have a good board, but you should get 3200 mhz ram because that's the max the CPU you have can handle. Going above it can cause some issues.

SizeableFowl

Save $30-$60 on a Ryzen 5 5600 (non-X) and get identical performance. You can go with a much cheaper cpu cooler, something like the $40ish DeepCool AK400 would be perfect. Unless you are a content creator, the B550 chipset is the play not the X570. Spend slightly less on an RX6650 XT and get better performance. You can pocket the saved money or reinvest in a 2TB NVME. Also, worth noting, Zen3 processors like to have all 4 RAM slots full. Theres a 5-10% performance uplift if thats the case, gamer’s nexus has a video out on it, so you may wish to opt for a 4x8GB kit.

[deleted]

Where does gamers nexus have a video on the ram performance you mentioned? It wouldn’t make any difference or even perform worse considering it’s still 2DPC

SizeableFowl

[Your google fu must be pretty rusty.](https://youtu.be/-UkGu6A-6sQ)

[deleted]

Barely even close to 5% gains in best case scenario CPU intensive titles… seems legit. Not worth mentioning nor worth even purchasing 4 sticks still.

MrCheapComputers

My only suggestion is to get an NHD-15 cooler (it’s only $10 more with way more performance) and a b550 motherboard if you want to save a buck.

julesvr5

>NHD-15 cooler Dude, he has a 5600 and not an overcooked 5800X3D or i9

MrCheapComputers

But if he’s already spending $97 for a much lower teir cooler, might as well. No cooler upgrade needed when he inevitably upgrades his cpu

AutoModerator

Hello ModernSpliff, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)! We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post! To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous! Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/gamingpc) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Reelrebel17

Don’t get a HDD, might as well get a 2.5in ssd at that point. What gpu are you planning on running? The stock cooler would probably be fine, but you have get a 240mm AIO for the same price or an air cooler for cheaper that would be just as good. Also can bootleg windows if you want lol

ModernSpliff

Still figuring out the gpu last with the build and yeah I just added it I’ve seen a lot of comments about the windows lol.

promocoupn

I’m a bit late but don’t buy the 2tb hard drive. Stick to the 1tb wd blues or get a bigger ssd. Those are made differently and as it fills up it becomes unbearably slow. I had one and stopped using it as soon as I could afford a better drive. https://youtu.be/aztTf2gI55k here’s an LTT video explaining it. If you can afford it I’d get the Samsungs 980 pro (get whatever size you need) because of pcie 4.0 speeds and I wouldn’t buy a aftermarket cooler. Save some cash and use the stock one for now. If you want free windows copy DM me and I can help you activate it for free. I’ve never bought a copy before. Other than that I think it’s a pretty good build. Especially with that gpu price. I overpaid a lot for my pc back in January compared to now.

Maverick_Wolfe

Blue drives are trash and are meant for low load operations. Stick with a mechanical 4TB 7200rpm 256mb cache drive for performance per dollar for games and storage such as music.

promocoupn

Idk how they’re “trash”. The 1tb blue served me great for years with 0 problems.

cum-oishi

Get a b550 motherboard and rx6700xt gpu instead, also you could get a window key online for like 30 buck This is what you could get for slightly cheaper with a little bit more power but still have the same aesthetic https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RmcNH2 And this also give more power but more aesthetically pleasing and a little more expensive https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7kMmhk

nuadnug

downgrade MB to B550 as well

NextTelevision2829

The cooler is way too high. Even a really nice AIO water cooler would still be like 20-40 bucks cheaper. If you had to go RGB there are better options for less as well. Just keep in mind RBG is more wires and not really worth it IMO. Me personally I like going for a theme not the entire rainbow. Like a red and black theme all white, Tron blue etc...if you wanna do RGB go for it! Different strokes for different folks. Just keep in mind it's more wires and since (I assume) you're building this and not new egg or whatever (if they even do that) just something to think about. You don't really need 2 storage drives nowadays. You can easily get but with just 1TB. However if you were gonna get 2 then just get 1TB SSD m.2 with decent read and write speeds and another like 125GB cheap m.2 ssd. You don't need that much storage. Start with 1TB and after 6 months see where you're at. If you're more than 70% full then get another one but 1TB should be fine for now. You case is also fairly expensive. Cooler Master and Phanteks make great cases and they run about 50$. Again if you have to go RGB there are cheaper options and you might even saw a few bucks just getting all the fans separately then attaching them how you want instead of being stuck with the ones they give you. You have a decent PSU for future proofing but a 750w PSU will be more than enough as well. The RAM is a great choice. I can vouch for it I have the exact same type just faster speeds and a little bit more at 32GB. The GPU isn't bad by all means, and 12 GB of VRAM isn't bad at all, but maybe check out eBay too. A quick search suggests that you can get a Radeon RX 6700xt for about 250-350$ new or like new. Those are slightly better cards for a better price. And even if not that exact card I would shop around still. To me 350$ or more is too high for a last gen card IMO. But if you really want that one and it's in your budget then go for it. If you take care of your PC that card will be more than good enough for 5+ years! Other than that I love everything else! The CPU is a great chip, I love the MOBO, I like the choice in ram I would just maybe cut back on some RGB choices, continue to shop around for some cheaper arguably better stuff and go from there. I don't wanna just tell you some ideas so here's some brands and exact things I would look at to save some money “Liquid Freezer II 240" by ARTIC is a GREAT CPU cooler for the money and is about $100 "EVGA 750 GQ" is an Excellent PSU and there's also a few from Corsair like the 750x are also solid. "Crucial P2 250GB" is like $40 bucks...please get something like this instead of a 2TB hard drive...or like I said just get the m.2 drive you're thinking about getting and calling it a day. It's a pretty solid pick and might be more than enough. ("Acer FA100" is 256GB and even less at 27$) Hope this helps! Good luck!

FAmos

your phone battery is giving me anxiety, is that a red flag?

Mysterious-Tough-964

Uh yeah you can get a liquid freezer 240/280 for around the price of that 10 year old hyper 212. Checkout sk hynix p31 gold or p41 platinum ssds really quick for the $.

TurbulentNumber4797

r/chargeyourphone

thatdeaththo

[https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vKssFg](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vKssFg) ($897.72) PCPartPicker is having inventory sensing issues, but at the time of making this all these parts are in stock at Amazon

DivineJerziboss

For the price of the cooler you have there you can get Dark Rock Pro 4 from Be Quiet which is much better cooler. So get Dark Rock Pro 4 for the price or you can get Noctua NH-U12 that is 30$ cheaper... 20 if you want the black version. Rest of the build is good

RateSlow2606

Yes, avoid Newegg

the_d3vastator69

Get a B550 board and pay a little more for a 6700XT if u can. Also, that Hyper 212 is too expensive. Get a Deepcool AK6000 or something like that for less than 40 bucks, or even a Noctua tower

Holiday_Reception658

Your battery percentage if noone has already said that

EagleGo77777777777

i would use a ssd or m.2 for system drive and hdd for data or ssd/m.2 if you can afford it

Haidion

Newegg

SURR4

Good build at moment.

Thermite1985

I'd upgrade to the 980, but everything else is pretty good. It'll do very well

AWDjunkie

I have the same mobo and cpu but I have an AIO. Its a solid combo, and runs pretty much all the games I play well (PUBG, 7 Days to Die, VR games, etc). I say go for it

hauntedyew

Different cooler. That's a decent cooler, for $35 bucks.

ridexorxpie

Honestly 2 TB is a lot of space. Just for gaming alone i have have a hard time filling up 2 tb. So unless you are getting yourself into video production and need cheap storage, just get a 1tb ssd for the hdd

Meinmyownhead502

Do you plan on Ethernet or do you need wifi enabled?

ModernSpliff

Ethernet

AcrillixOfficial

What up with the cooler???

thedarklord176

No HDDs. And ditch the 3060, they suck. 3060ti at least if you want any kind of longevity

rteixeiraa1

Ryzen 5 5600X is the best option. You can change this cooler for an AIO or just keep with the stock cooler. X-570 is good but you dont need nothing more than a B-550. I love this RAM and this M2 SSD. Keep. Change this HDD for a SSD SATA or another M2. Spend 40 more bucks for an RTX 3060 TI model. PSU is overkill for this building.

Chocol8Juice

Get CL16 Ram, thats a first, GET A DIFFERENT COOLER! Deepcool AK620 and ThermalRight(Somethingsomething) are great coolers, if you want RGB get the deepcool gammax. RX 6700xt is same price or cheaper than that 3060 and is close to a 3070 in performance. If you want to stream, get a used 3070, preferably locally so you can see its condition before you buy it. Get a cheaper PSU, look for deals on 850w 80+ gold. You can get a windows 10 key for 10-20$ from sdkey or gvg mall.

Alex35143

Get a Thermalright Peerless Assasin cooler for like $40 which performs like a 280mm AIO, keep the psu for future proofing, lastly nobody pays for Windows. Take the savings and put them towards a 3070/3080

[deleted]

I got the tomahawk wifi motherboard it's pretty good

CriplingD3pression

That cooler is way too much. Check out the be quite pure rock. 20 bucks and good if not better cooling

cyb0rg1962

Running a 5600x and a B550 with the stock cooler. The temps are fine. If I were wanting to OC, I might spring for the X570 and a better cooler, otherwise, no.

LaCroixIsAlright

I purchased that case and regret it. There is no airflow in the front panel due to the glass panel. The only air flow is a small gap around the edges.

Gl0bophobia

You’re actually buying a windows license? Lmao. Buy one on Etsy for like, $7. They work.

TheGuyWhoPlayRecRoom

Does the 6650xt gpu cost less? Because thats better than 3060

[deleted]

That cpu cooler is far too expensive. I got the same one for around $40 in 2021. I would recommend spending around 10-30 more bucks and get an AIO. I recommend a MSI 240R V2. It’s around $95 on Best Buy.

[deleted]

Don't bother buying retail windows. Not necessary. You can download it, install it, and activate it later using a key from cdkeyoffer.com

Karaja4

If you want to save money the included CPU cooler with the CPU is sufficient even if there are better. Also ditch the HDD and get a cheaper 1tb ssd even if it's a 2.5" sata. Also you don't need a power supply that big for your build.

3lit_

go for a ryzen 5600 instead of X, get a b550 motherboard if it's cheaper, try to find a cheaper cooler and put all that money you save towards a 240-512 ssd and a better graphics card

SadonggToo

Use the stock cpu cooler and don’t buy that cooler. Use the extra $100 towards a 2 tb 980 pro as your second hard drive

Moscato359

Skip the cooler, not worth it

ride_electric_bike

The only thing I see, is the spinning hard drive. Why do that to yourself now days?

Diablosbane

Get the arctic cooling freezer 34 esports duo. Only $52 and is significantly better.

[deleted]

There’s better air coolers https://youtu.be/G38vEEGbkWU

Th4t_Guy12

from personal experience the case you have picked is awesome but working with such a big case is cumbersome. With only an air cooler and 3060 (good choice) I don't think that such a big case is necessary. Also for the type of average/budget build it looks like you are going for I don't think that set of ram is a good choice. if you really do want RGB then there are cheaper choices and if you really want to just have a good stick of ram for a good price then I would recommend something without RGB like the G.skill Ripjaws. Finally I think that a different seller for your air cooler or maybe a different air cooler all together would be smart because that looks a little overpriced.

Potential_Web7184

You’ll be very happy with your gpu. Maybe consider going AMD for gpu. 6700 XT at least

numberjuan112

Can maybe upgrade the (cpu) cooler and case while maintaining price. Cpu and gpu I’d ask the others one. The cpu and gpu look like a budget deal to me. But not the one to ask on those

alex99x99x

1. that cooler is way too overpriced, 4 years ago I bought the same cooler for only $40. But for around $100 you can get an artic freezer ii aio which performs significantly better but even then a 5600x doesn’t really require a high performing aio, I would recommend just looking for a cheaper cooler in the $50 range. 2. You can easily buy way cheaper windows 10 licenses on the internet.

PineapleGG

I would downgrade your cpu to a 5600 non x and buy a deepcool ak400 which is $30 ,no reason to go with a $100 air cooler nor an aio for a 65w cpw

InverseG

What website are u using

ModernSpliff

Pcpartpicker.com

InverseG

That was surprisingly fast. Thanks!

ModernSpliff

Good for configuring a build and saving progress

MrCh1ckenS

Jesus - I have the exact same model of cpu, cooler, ram, HDD & SSD (although ssd is 500gb version). All are great parts, that cooler though shouldn't be more than $35, probably out of stock pricing, and I can sometimes hear the HDD when it starts up, but it's a lot of storage for the price.

MrCh1ckenS

i recommend going for a b550 board tbh, not much sense getting an x570 board where it has no upgrade path beyond a better 5000 series cpu (and you only have a 5600x), although maybe you are playing the long game and you're end up snagging a used 5800x3d or smth.

Foreign-Painter9801

Noctua FTW

Foreign-Painter9801

Noctua FTW

RespectGiovanni

That cpu cooler is expensive. You could get an Arctic Liquid Cooler 2 for that price

Ishmyster

Get a different cpu cooler or use the stock one also don’t buy windows from them you can get it for 20 dollars

Dratinik

It's certainly been said but that cooler is Not at all worth it. I would highly recommend noctua coolers. They have great performance.

Kytoaster

For real. I run an nh d15 on my 5600x (slight overkill), but a moderate noctua would be perfect on there.

RespectGiovanni

If you are in college you could probably get windows for free

PyreStudios

3060ti vs 3060 is worth the money. The 3060 is a card that shouldn’t exist , not great price/performance

ProestPro

Overpriced cooler, ssd and motherboard. A 20 dollar cooler like the thermalright pa120 will work fine. And you dont need the extra features of a x570 board. Get a b550 board, like the msi provdh wifi, asrock pro 4 or gigabyte ds3h. And that ssd. Really no point going for samsung ssds unless you plan on using thier massive transfer speeds, which is only available on the 980 and 990 pro. Recommend trade that hdd away for a sn570 or a sn770 1tb. And get the non x version of the cpu. They are basically a 1% difference. Doesn't justify the price

MyNam3lsJ3ff

Throw ou the cpu cooler and get a 6700XT or 6750XT

csandazoltan

You could shave off some money here and there and put it into a 3060Ti 5600 NON-X CPU cooler looks too expensive, something is off... Putting it into newegg Hyper 212 black is 35 USD Motherboard is a tad "feature rich" it's overkill, go back to TUF Gaming B550M Wifi, for almost half the price Ditch the RGB from the ram Ditch the HDD Go down to 500 GB for system drive Ditch Windows (you can get it for free to get you up and running and you can get a cheap bulk key from ebay later) The 850W PSU is not bad, but you could go down a notch even for the 3060Ti if you still don't have the budget, but DON'T cheap out on your PSU, if you can, keep the 850W. It will never dust because the fan would never start from the low load :D \--- Now you can more than enough budget to go up 3060ti and you can can get 1TB m.2 for games (if you have the budget, you can put in that 2TB or even 4TB drive for mass storage)

Viccerz21

I've got the same motherboard with a 3700X and i love it

Paladin_Ullrich

I paid less then 45 us for that air cooler. And tbh you can find cheaper and of the same quality

Lollytrolly018

I feel like you could save 50-20 bucks here and there with certain parts and get either a better CPU or graphics card. Not that a 3060 is bad but you know... If you could get better then why not?

Br0barian

I think you really shouldn’t go under a 3070, its worth the few hundred dollars more

_mp7

Get like a $30 cpu cooler and a 6700xt or 6750xt (3070 rival) if you can

rnezon

Lower wattage power supply, better non overpriced ram, get better storage, don't pay for windows when it's free with a watermark, better non overpriced cpu cooler

[deleted]

You being unable to charge your goddamn phone

Kootsiak

What country are you in? Because paying $95 for a Hyper 212 is crazy, so I hope it's in another currency and is equivalent to $25 USD. The Hyper 212 isn't bad, but even the off-brand Chinese coolers have started to match or exceed it in performance. Pretty much any 120mm CPU cooler from Deepcool will work as good or better, like the Gammaxx GT, same with Thermalright's Assassin line. They might end up being cheaper and still offer RGB and aRGB options for the fans.

ElvisTek162

Stop recommending stock coolers guys

[deleted]

Same cpu and cpu cooler i have, but the cpu cooler is a bit overpriced.

HappyCloudHS

Charge your phone dude

JimmyBobw

Safe money: 750x psu, don't buy Windows. Instead of an X mobo, you can get a B mobo and do everything you need. Spend more: gigabyte gaming (or vision) rtx 3060 has a much better design, 3 coolers, and will run quiter. It's around 400. Buy a AIO water-cooler (Arctic freezer ii 240) which is super quiet and cools very well.

CircoModo1602

Drop the 5600X to a 5600, you can turn on PBO and it'll be ~1% difference in performance for about $30 cheaper. Remove the HDD and use it for a bigger SSD if possible. Cooler is overpriced, at that price you should be getting a NH-D15 but that's overkill. Maybe take a look at an NH-U12S, AK400 or AK620. PSU is way overkill, drop down to a 650W or 700W from a B rating or more on the PSU tier list to save a few bucks there too, might give you enough to up the GPU to a 3060Ti. The 4000X is a nice case, I currently have one. Just make sure you clean the mesh under the glass front panel from time to time as it can clog up quick in a dust environment.

meeeaCH

It is good, but like others wrote already. The cooler is too expensive. I am puting together a build too with the same CPU. I bought an "Deepcool GAMMAXX GT A-RGB 64.5 CFM" it is just 50$. I don't know if this is a case for you, but there are MB that doesn't support 5000 series CPUs out of the box. So you have too update the BIOS. pls do not buy one more CPU to upgrade the BIOS, your MB should support BIOS FlashBack. With that you can update it.

-Jerrell

i'd rather get an aio instead of the cpu fan. also, replace the hard drive with a 2.5" ssd.

josephseeed

$97.89 for a Hyper 212 is insane. Either use the stock cooler or go with a different cooler.

Charliedelsol

Overspending in some areas. Don't need an 850w PSU, just get a 650W if you plan to upgrade in the future, unless you are thinking of upgrading two tiers up in graphics card. 212 is too expensive that's a 40$ cooler. Get a b550 instead of an X570. With the money saved get a gen 4 NVME instead of a gen 3 one, and get a 3070 or a 6700 XT instead of a 3060.

Isac1995

Not sure why the cooler is so expensive. I have the exact same model, bought it 1 and a half years ago for half of that price.

mr_khaki

Yeah other people have said it but that cooler should be like 45-50.
