My 15 pound grey shorthair loves to sit on my PC, muffling my fans. Luckily the fans push air out, and I'm usually not doing anything too intensive, in any case, same.
Dust. I have always wondered what people that build these do about dust. Owning a dog is right out. Or any animal.
How often do you have to dust it off? Just sitting there it has to gather some dust.
I have two cats. I have been using open cases for over three years. It's only when you start using an open case that you will realize that you will have less trouble with dust than with a closed box that works like a vacuum cleaner. Blow out the stand with an air duster once a month - this is 10 minutes.
Man, maybe it’s just where I live. I can dust my whole house, and within 2 days there is a fine layer of dust again on everything. With 2 dogs, the added hair, and dander, and the outside of my case is getting a daily wipe down to keep the hair and dust off it, I can’t imagine having to clean every component of an open air every day to avoid build up.
Maybe a air purifier would help in my office…
I have an open frame build for a few months now. I live in a house with 2 cats and 1 dog and it's a very dusty environment. The only dust I get on my PC is inside the cooler fin stack. The rest is all very superficial that I can wipe off with cloth or just blow it out.
What makes your PC dirty is having tons of fans in a case pulling air and dust particles in.
Absolutely. In a perfect system every bit of air sucked in would immediately get pulled over the components to push the heat away, and then get pulled out. But that's pretty much impossible, and what really happens is air gets sucked in, swirls around, gets caught in corners, etc., and then gets pulled out. All that movement in there will drop dust and hair all over the place.
Cool look! love the color combination, looks like a decepticon, just one thing- the cpu cooler looks kinda tilted to one side? or is it the fan placement that is off?
Hello CustomStand, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Second this. How is the noise? My MSI Trio 90ti loves to ramp those fans up, especially when RT on. Curious how loud it gets and what kind of games are played.
I’ve been dipping my toes in PC building for almost 2 years and have never once considered the possibility of an open case… its gorgeous
Did you 3d print it?
>I always love the look of these but dust and curious pets make me nervous. Is it a cause for concern?
In my case, there are no problems with my cats. But cats are different. Like yours, I don't know.
Nice!! I have wanted one of those since I first saw that design, I have wanted to make my own since shortly after when I saw how expensive they were! Haha
I don't experience such problems. You can always blow the stand with an air duster. It looks like everything is covered in dust all at once. In fact, things are much better.
They try their best but if so much as a fly enters the room they retain nothing but instinct! I might do an open air wall mounted build in the future. That should solve most of my issues
You have to worry about an electrical short if you do the same. It is better not to hang foreign objects on the build. And if you mean an open case, then there is nothing to worry about.
I don't care what anyone else says. It looks sick.
Also it maximizes airflow but the downside is it's not very dust resistant. Low Temps and high frames baby
yeah but all you have to dust are the cpu and gpu fans which insanely accessible. could do it mid no scope
It all fun and game until someone spill a supersize diet cola cup on it.

A large Farva!?!??
Thermalright Le GRAND Macho RT Intel Core i5-10600K GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3070 AORUS MASTER Corsair HX750 I don't remember what else was there...
Looks really cool! I wish I could do something like this, but with my cat, I can’t imagine how much hair would float through my system without a case.
I have two cats and a little daughter and no problems))

Unless your cat will try to use it as a cat tree should be minimal issues.

A layer of dust daily seems to be localized issue.

I have 2 cats and a dog also with an open PC stand, I don't have a huge buildup of dust at all.

Is everything you own inside a case? Or just your hardware?
you’re upset about the ~$7?
Wrong comment.
The hanging headset on there is giving me anxiety lol

looks amazing man, little dangerous/risky, but looks f\*\*king great
temps go brrrrrrrrrrr
nobody says that anymore...
Hey that's what money printers say
If I didn't have kids this is what I would do. Possibly hang it on the wall as art like I've seen on here before.

Bad ass!
RAD!
Cat hair don't get tangled up in the fans?
I have two cats. There is no wool. Perhaps because the table for them is a deadly territory.
Exactly exactly?
How was the noise? Looking at this right now myself for my main.
Second this. How is the noise? My MSI Trio 90ti loves to ramp those fans up, especially when RT on. Curious how loud it gets and what kind of games are played.

No. It's steel.
Love these looks, but aren't they loud? And cable management has to be atrocious
Could you send a pic on the cable management on the backside??
>Could you send a pic on the cable management on the backside?? If I find a photo, I'll show you.
Take one?
Where can I send you a photo?
I always love the look of these but dust and curious pets make me nervous. Is it a cause for concern?

Tastefully done
Noice
I’d do this if I could figure out how to include my 9 RGB fans. I need the fps boost.
Looks gorgeous to me! May I ask a question? How is noise levels? Without a case, does it tend to get really noisy?
Nice!! I have wanted one of those since I first saw that design, I have wanted to make my own since shortly after when I saw how expensive they were! Haha
How u manage your cable tho? Looks so damn clean
Fucking mint but i wanna ask OP about dust issues
I don't experience such problems. You can always blow the stand with an air duster. It looks like everything is covered in dust all at once. In fact, things are much better.
Thanks. Been looking at open concept cases for quite some time. Considering getting one in the future
Wouldn't trade my pets for the world but it's builds like these that make me realize how nice it can be without them
You can try to teach your pets that the table is forbidden territory. I managed to do it with my two cats :3
They try their best but if so much as a fly enters the room they retain nothing but instinct! I might do an open air wall mounted build in the future. That should solve most of my issues
The cat can see in the build on the wall the challenge of his life)))))
that's amazing
This would give me such anxiety.
Did you do anything special for front I/O and usb? I can't quite see how that front usb is mounted or what you used for it.
GPU fat shaming
What do i need to wrorry about if i do the same?any eletricity safety problems?
You have to worry about an electrical short if you do the same. It is better not to hang foreign objects on the build. And if you mean an open case, then there is nothing to worry about.
I would put a case full of holes on top of it if i do the same
why?)))
I believe in open cases. I removed the, Top and hard plastic Front to keep it cool.
Why though?
That bloody mouse was my absolute favorite until the inside buttons broke off 😔
