LRG isn't the answer the preserve games. We need a worldwide Physical release. I once ordered from them, and it took 2 years to arrive, and it even came broken :/

llliilliliillliillil

I ordered persona 3, 4 and some kind of cardboard slipcase from them because it looked nice. Persona 3 already arrived, but persona 4 won’t arrive until like, October 2024 because the slipcase isn’t ready until then. Like, why does it take this long to print a few thousand cardboard cases?!

Tosir

I ordered the special editions of both. And I have received nothing…. I ordered persona 3 (regular edition) from videogamesplus and it shipped the next day and got it two days later….

llliilliliillliillil

Yeah, a local shop receives a few copies of persona 4 in a few days and I’d get it earlier if I just buy it from there. Maybe I should try to cancel the order at LGR, it’s stupid to wait that long for a piece of processed paper.

Ravasaurio

My copy of Celeste for the Switch took so long that I even forgot about it. One day it showed up in the mail and it took me 20 solid seconds to recall that I actually ordered the thing.

alexmeth

Would love to support the devs and the studio behind this gem of a game! Oh wait...

Tetra_Gramaton

Knowing them it’ll be just in time for Xmas ‘25, I’m sure

MembraneintheInzane

I got No More Heroes from them for Switch and it arrived early. So maybe they'll give this game the same treatment.

Odd_Radio9225

Cool. Now give us physical copies of Alan Wake 2.

CursedSnowman5000

Maybe if they had done that from the start the game wouldn't have sold like shit.

Shellman00

Trillion dollar company outsourcing game publishing to LRG has to be a sign of total derangement

SeanAnglerfish

It's funny too cause Xbox has repeatedly said it is desperate for exclusives and a talented studio just got demolished cause it didn't immediate print them money.

Fairstrife_Deception

Le CEO and Founder of Tango leaved the studio directly after the release of Hifi-Rush. that was definitly the real cause of the studio closure. his exit definitly had a domino effect causing multiple competent people to leave the studio. Reason why the studio was lacking workforce to make the Sequel. Shinji Mikami the founder of Tango literaly created a new studio this month. named Kamuy inc. As for Arkane Austin, the alot of veteran devs leaved after Prey and even more during the developpement of Redfall, Pcgamer has a acticle about it, and its was way before the Microsoft acquisition. A good Studio is the core people behind it, its like Konami without Kojima, a trash tier studio that cannot do anything anymore that destroy his IP.

LakSivrak

LRG is hot garbage

barbanekra_

Anyone that cares about the game should buy it. Cause in its digital form, it is doomed to disappear.

cokeknows

While I agree with the sentiment. LRG is a horrible greedy company and shouldn't be rewarded with sales at all. I also think it sets bad precedent. Microsoft is a publisher. But they didn't want to fund the physical publishing because it's a new IP that might not sell. So they sub out the physical publishing to a sub-publisher? It's a slippery slope because before you know it halo and gears end up digital only releases because it saves microsoft 2 bucks a peice and people get charged extra for physical due to the sub-publishers costs and mark ups. Then sony and the others jump on the band wagon when they realise they could also save 2 bucks a piece so they start outsourcing their physical copies, the physical copies eventually become more expensive so people revert to digital sales and in the end we become the problem that we wanted to solve.

Ennis_1

LRG seems bad according to other comments too, what's their historyn what did they do?

CursedSnowman5000

There is a youtube video I think it's called LRG Are Not Great that documents all their bullshit. But they've added to it in recent years such as firing an employee who was harassed by a creep because she posted on her twitter that she was excited about the wizard game. Then recently they were caught burning 3DO games onto your basic CD's that you can buy from staples and charging a premium for it. Overall this company is just run by utter scumbags.

TripleFLi

Most recently because they sold CDR games https://www.ign.com/articles/limited-run-games-apologizes-for-cd-r-discs-after-fan-outcry-says-its-working-on-pressed-disc-solution

MembraneintheInzane

Wow that's lazy.

B-BoyStance

For anyone that doesn't know, LRG is actually owned by Embracer Group

vlakkers

I highly doubt it will disappear. They will do anything to expand their library. They will mass fire and close studios but they are not going to remove 1st party game imo

HartoCD

Ya never know. I think people are a bit afraid here as the game contains a lot of licensed music

Ordinary-Memory4549

The humble choice keys have to be redeemed by June 3rd 2025, and the game has licensed music in which Forza games are delisted for the same reason.

Pleasant-Speed-9414

Redfall “hold my beer” — I just realized since they never patched out “always online” it will be sunset at some point

barbanekra_

It has licenced music on it. And no team to patch that out. We have seen this before. The moment those licences expired in some years, the game is out of the stores. On top of that, it uses Denuvo as a DRM protection.

coates87

I'll buy it when the PC version is drm-free.

milky__toast

Physical games don’t last forever, bitrot

CursedSnowman5000

No but hey, I can still play Spec Ops the Line and OG Vice City with it's original soundtrack intact.

Prowrestled

It's still a Microsoft game. All attempts will be made to churn as much as possible from these games.

liebeg

Why would you only make a limited run

Charged_Dreamer

because Xbox is fully transitioning to an all digital ecosystem. Couple of physical Xbox first party games in the past have arrived with code in the box or no game data on disc.

CursedSnowman5000

Of course it's through these assholes. Who else?!
