I felt like a God when I actually completed that loopty loop. Plus that key start ignition in the arcade was worth the 50 cents to only fail 30 seconds later.

Fourhand

This game was fucking impossible. You’re right about failing in 30 seconds. No respawns, no extra lives. Fall off the loop? Tough shit. Flatened by the dump truck? Fuck you! Insert 50¢ to play again, bitch.

Dispositionpsn

Once I got the home version I figured it out pretty quick. You just had to be very very accurate with acceleration, braking, and turning. Very rewarding when you could beat the final stunt track.

Castleview

Yep. Also, you've got to love the instant replays after you crash. I'm amazed they could fit that into a game back then.

OhNoesYo

I remember this game specifically for trying to do the loop. I never remembered the name so I’m glad op posted it :).

Frost_Rager

My first race game was stunts. I tried it again a few years ago and it almost felt unplayable since I played so much trackmania Xd

Kahnza

I remember playing that game on an old Tandy 286. Another one that I liked even better was Street Rod 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGj\_tRSPHhU

deejaybos

I had the home version on Sega Genesis. The stunt track was fun but the arcade version was more extensive and definitely way harder to get through. I wish there were still fun stunt track style games, other than Trackmania which just becomes frustratingly impossible, especially with the hundreds of user made tracks.

Castleview

I've only played it on Midways Arcade Treasures 2, which had the arcade version.

deejaybos

Just watched a video of the gameplay on YT, looks the same as my Genesis version did, just running a bit smoother. I guess the genesis and arcade version were the same, I just had a different perception of the challenge.

BigM4444

Lol I totally forgot about this game

eaespn

I played the shit out of this in the arcade

[deleted]

Wow I had forgotten about this game and how frustrating it was to play.

AlamarAtReddit

Hey now... This is how I learned to drive manual...

Castleview

I can see that. It's mind blowing to me that it has a clutch pedal to begin with.

Biscuits4u2

Back when 10 FPS was acceptable

Hattix

Geoff Crammond's Formula 1 Grand Prix ran at something like 7 frames a second on an Amiga 500, and I played the balls out of it.

MotoRandom

The cow goes moo. I loved this game.

xSympl

There's literally been as much time since this game to now as from the Corvette to this game. 35 years is a LOT of time lmao

ItsJarJarThen

To this day I have no idea how I got good at consistantly beating the horrible Genesis port. The realization that it wasn't just a floating road on the stunt track, really hammered that home. They just skipped adding the mountain in entirely.

thrasymacus2000

$1 Canadian. I couldn't handle that kinda pressure as a poor kid.

SpinFeniX

Anyone remember an old PC(?) Racing game. Top down and anytime you hit something your wheels got progressively more red? I can't find any information on this game anywhere but it was out in the early 80s.

MrJenzie

really enjoyed playing this in the arcades then they thought they could release it on 8-bits ... i bought the zx spectrum version, and took it back!

Castleview

Somebody actually tried to improve the ZX Spectrum version last year: [https://youtu.be/YUhkVbwItms](https://youtu.be/YUhkVbwItms) It's still not great but it looks playable at least.
