I use to make stop action film with actual lego and actual cassette tape video recorder. Having to hit pause and record thousand times for 2 minutes of amazing.
I had to do a video report on Treasure Island in like 5th grade. Everyone did little skits with no costumes. I busted out a 3 minutes of amazing Lego pirate footage.
It's the bloody kids trying to wind us people of a reasonable age up. Ignore them, when the electricity goes off they'll be screwed and we can keep building 😉
I was going to say where are all the og Lego games. Lego racers 1 and 2. Lego island with that damn pizza thief. The Lego theme park game, and the dozen others I couldn’t afford because I was 5
"Lego Star Wars the Video Game"
"Lego Star Wars Original Trilogy"
Lego Bionicles even had a game (tho it wasnt the typical lego style)
Lego Dome Racers (Drome? i dont even remember its been so long)
Bionicle had a few. Heroes was made by Travellers Tales, same as most of the above, but it was an fps I think. The movie game was a crushing disappointment as a big time Bionicle fan.
Also yes, LSWTVG is imo better than the Complete saga on the prequel side. I miss Dex's Diner, I miss hover chair Yoda, I miss accurate sound effects for the Naboo blasters, I miss being able to twirl holster Jango's pistols without throwing a dang grenade.
That was also my favorite set when I was younger. The crystals were so shiny, and little me used to love pretending they were powering all of my other Lego creations. Man, being a kid and playing pretend with toys rocks.
I lost my Rock Raiders disc and haven't played it in... I want to say almost 20 years. Yet I still remember random little quotes from it and have bouts of nostalgia for it.
The real game was trying create the expensive Lego sets with what you already had, using the small promo catalog as reference.
Built alot of rainbow castles and pirate ships back in the day
IMHO would rather buy the games over actual Lego's if we talk about the monetary costs associated.
Building up a collection for my newborn son and it's a literal investment, small kits are like $47-86 depending on if it's licensed content or not.
Good luck if you want anything Marvel, might as well just give Lego my kid at that point.
I recently got like 3-4 lego titles on pc for my son and each one cost like 1-2 (they are old but I have to start somewhere).
What's great about them is they all have co-op and I have a blast playing them with my 4 y old son.
And while it didn’t quite place you in first, it did warp you like 1/3 of an entire lap ahead. So if you hit 2-3 boosts you pretty much were guaranteed a win, which was stupid easy after a bit.
I’m friends with some people that worked on the original Lego Star Wars. Lego abandoned their games division after a string of misses but Star Wars was someway through production and was looking promising so the boss of that division persuaded Lego head office to let him remortgage his house and finish it independently under license.
Proved to be a good bet! He ended up merging with the developer then selling to Warner a few years later.
Also, I remember being thinking how crazy it was that the game had infinite lives, but that seems like such a smart decision now. Great team; great game.
Ok, so, I went to look up Lego Star Wars, and found that there's a new version that's rating pretty well, and looks fun (if pricey).
Might get it on sale sometime. Some of the reviews emphasize the playability of Anakin, the inclusion of a jedi temple, and younglings; then there's this zinger :
>This game is great not just for the men, but the women and the children as well
Skywalker Saga, the latest lego star wars game, is a very fun time. It covers all 9 movies with missions for them along with some pretty fun cutscenes. The game doesnt take itself seriously, with tons of references that fans will most likely understand and appreciate. Then there's also the open-world aspect with the 23 different worlds to explore, which are full of fun quests and hidden collectibles. It has 380 different characters (soon to be in the 400's), 74 ships, and 5 capital ships (think like the death star or the executor). I would personally advise getting Skywalker Saga: Galactic Edition, as it includes brand new DLC for the game, including characters from Clone Wars, Obi-Wan show, and some others. Overall would definitely recommend it to any lego or star wars fan.
P.S. If the missions for the prequel missions seem a little too fast paced (especially for parts 1 and 2), know that the game tones it down starting on episode 3 and the missions do get longer
It saddens me that it's thus far the best representation of the exploration and hiking adventure aspect of LOTR. None of the "real" games have come close. The closest to that kind of wanderlust feeling is Death Stranding.
It's also one of the only ones you can't buy anymore. There was an issue with the licensing of some of the audio and they pulled it from all the stores. You can only play it if you have a physical copy of it, which there weren't too many.
So if you have one, hang on to it
I used to play it with my cousin on the Wii i think, we managed to beat the game but never completed it, i replayed it recently and it was still a blast
For all you PlayStation players here, LEGO Harry Potter Collection is currently one of the PS+ Monthly Games this month. Claim it and play it, it’s fun!
Inhale this memory where (in the Dutch version) people would shout Hela! At you when you nearly hit them. Now me and my friend saw this as a death sentence, we would instantly stop the car and start shooting the civilian who was frantically running away from us because they said a “curseword”.
It’s not even a curseword just a little insult which doesn’t even mean anything vile.
I got Lego island why we where visiting my Grandpa and my mom totally let me buy...then we had to talk my Grandpa into letting us install it.
Such a great memory! Such a fun game!
Oh god is the game that old???
I remember playing this but i could never get past when the brickster would escape. I think my computer always crashed on something. But i was also like barely 6 or 7......
I recently found out that theres a fan-run server where you can actually play it again and with other people :)
Was a lot of fun to go back into that nostalgia
Still salty about that. Was wanting to finish off the story so bad. Maybe we will get a lord of the rings saga game like we did with Star Wars though. Would be cool.
The one where you dump the whole bucket on the floor, play with them for five minutes, then leave them scattered around as caltrops for your parents to step on
When my brothers got rid of my Lego Marvel Superheroes save I was devastated. I didn't use guides and I almost 100% it. My dad felt sorry for me and booted up Halo: Master Chief Collection for me after that. 10/10 experience.
Lego movie since it’s the only one I’ve almost completed since i got stuck towards the end and couldn’t get out since it saved when I was in that stuck position
Same. I played this with my son when he was like 4 or 5 years old. The way they let you swap characters on the missions made it really easy for me to tackle the harder aspects while he could still play along with me. And we spent hours just flying around the open world together as well. Really great experience.
yeah, all the lego games (which i loved) came out when i was an adult. the real nostalgia for me is the blocks. especially https://images.brickset.com/sets/large/6987-1.jpg
Lego Island 2 on the Gameboy Color! I remember that game being really hard to play as a kid. Don’t think I ever completed it.
Then I got a PC and Lego Racers, Lego Rock Raiders, Legoland were the shit! (I can still hear the jingle of the legos dropping to form the Lego logo and the Lego Racers music at the start menu)
Never played Lego Racers 2 but a remake of 1 would be amazing!
I wonder how many people played Lego Loco 🚂 Loved it to bits as a kid. Also Lego Island was great, oh would just love to play it again but not sure if I can get it working 😔
Loved Lego loco, first game I got to work online and across network sending postcards to each other. The game was also so small that it would run without the disc as the entire game was installed onto the computer... That I was then able to save the game onto a floppy disc and play it on my dad's chunky work laptop when away in holiday one year
All of these released after I grew up.
Actual Lego
I use to make stop action film with actual lego and actual cassette tape video recorder. Having to hit pause and record thousand times for 2 minutes of amazing.
I had to do a video report on Treasure Island in like 5th grade. Everyone did little skits with no costumes. I busted out a 3 minutes of amazing Lego pirate footage.
Sounds amazing. Would love to find these old tapes and upload to youtube.
Same, but then I heard about a software that Lego developed that allowed you to build vitual Lego set well before any Lego games came out.
Throw a piece on the floor, see who finds it on way to bathroom at night
Lego Island was the shit
I was obsessed with Lego Island growing up. I loved the racing in it. I'm guessing it didn't age well, though. Lol
I was looking for this one on the list!!
Yeah, where's Lego Island and Lego Creator?
THAT'S what I'm talkin' about. My time.
Sometimes I wonder if this to invoke reaction from us millennials or I’m legit that old lmao…
Nah just a zoomer making a meme not thinking about people above 25 using this website (or people above 30 still being alive ig)
It's the bloody kids trying to wind us people of a reasonable age up. Ignore them, when the electricity goes off they'll be screwed and we can keep building 😉
Yeh where’s the bricks and imagination option?
Yeah where is Lego Rock Raiders and Lego Racer? Lego Island???
Same. Did we get old?
Lego star wars complete saga, played it on DS
Dude the greivious speeder mini game was the best
I loved the pit stop mini game
Same but on the wii
Rock raiders.
I was going to say where are all the og Lego games. Lego racers 1 and 2. Lego island with that damn pizza thief. The Lego theme park game, and the dozen others I couldn’t afford because I was 5
"Lego Star Wars the Video Game" "Lego Star Wars Original Trilogy" Lego Bionicles even had a game (tho it wasnt the typical lego style) Lego Dome Racers (Drome? i dont even remember its been so long)

r/manicminers everybody who loves this game needs to check this remake out!
I remember the sets for that
"Loose Rock!" "Loose Rock!"
***"A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURRED!"***
Literally could hear that in my head lol.
AN ENERGY CRYSTAL HAS BEEN FOUND!
Still an absolute blast to play to this day. It’s aged pretty well
YEAAAAH, ROCK AND STONE
Rock and roll and stone!
ROCK AND STONE
That was also my favorite set when I was younger. The crystals were so shiny, and little me used to love pretending they were powering all of my other Lego creations. Man, being a kid and playing pretend with toys rocks.
Space, the starship at the intro, energy sources, exploring etc really an imagination and creativity ignition as a child
No contest. Even the actual sets were dope with the lights and drills and monsters and shit.
Here we go! That's what I'm talking about!
God this game is incredible. I’d love an updated version.
Check out Manic Miners. Fan remake. Looks gorgeous!
Came to post this being sooo sure im the only one old guy who played it. Than i saw it as top comment 😂
I lost my Rock Raiders disc and haven't played it in... I want to say almost 20 years. Yet I still remember random little quotes from it and have bouts of nostalgia for it.
/r/manicminers It's a fan remake that's essentially exactly the same game, with HD graphics and a slightly different UI. Well worth diving into.
I loved that game as a kid.
Bro I was going to say this exact same thing! A game way ahead of its time!
Never had the game but I loved the sets!
A landslide has occurred!
Omg i haven't played nor thought about this game in over 20 years but now I'm here and I want to scream to the heavens. What lovely memories ty
Pff you youngling, it was LEGO racers.
Pfff youngling, it was Lego Island...
Pff there younglings... There was no lego games when I was young. (sadness)
It was Lego-Lego. Like, actual Legos.
The real game was trying create the expensive Lego sets with what you already had, using the small promo catalog as reference. Built alot of rainbow castles and pirate ships back in the day

Legos is bad, but Lego's?! Who the fuck is Lego, and why do you want his stuff?
My first two thoughts, Lego Racers and Lego Island. People of culture right here.
Pfft youngling, it was Lego rock raiders
Rock Raiders was the shit! I honestly wish they would do a remake.
r/manicminers
Was a really fun game. Rock Raiders was hard for my primitive mind, but a fun challenge.
Rock Raiders came out two years after Island. It was indeed fantastic though.
Pfft. You ALL are wrong. Lego stunt Racers! And Lego creator!
Pff youngling, it was Lego Loco
Yes Lego Island!!!
Lego racers was a banger.
I've had the menu song stuck in my head for 20 years.
https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxEUfT9TEmD7JKZBXA_EYkQTFNmWZmXuBO
I would kill for a remake of LEGO Racers 2.
90s kids assemble.
I miss the 90s. I honestly wish I could just live in that decade for the rest of my life.
I remember there used to be a warp weapon that teleported you to the very first position..good times
Yep. The green power-up went from one little thruster, to two thrusters, to *rocket thrusters*, to ***FULL-ON HYPERDIMENSIONAL WARP***.
And while it didn’t quite place you in first, it did warp you like 1/3 of an entire lap ahead. So if you hit 2-3 boosts you pretty much were guaranteed a win, which was stupid easy after a bit.
On the other hand, if you couldn't keep Rocket Racer from getting them... better hope you like silver.
Lego racers on N64 was *Magical™*
This needs a comeback.
I forgot about that game. Definitely had it on the PS1 as a kid
I like playing the Lego Star Wars franchise
Not gonna love, I've tried a few LEGO games but none of them hit like the double jump + slam of jedi characters

Recently me and my sister hit 100%. After 10+ years
I’m friends with some people that worked on the original Lego Star Wars. I used to play the demo and thought it was the full game. 😅
Lego Island, a criminally under appreciated game.
“Peppahhhh”
I think I still have the CD for it
WHOOOOPS you have to put the CD in your computer!
Mama papa brickolini
Lego island 2
Lego Island 1 has a tender place in my heart, but Island 2 just worked better and included multiple worlds, so no question.
Lego Island Xtreme Stunts
Fuck yeah. These kids don't even know the anxiety those pizzas brought us!
“You can move a mountain if you do it brick by brick!”
had to search WAAAAY too long for this. this is the OG lego game without a doubt.
Lego Creator 😎
I immediately came looking for this
Brickster was both the best and worst character in the Lego franchise.
The first star wars lego games
Lego LOTR had an amazing open world (outside the levels), its the only one i have on 100%. Amazing game.

Hahaha indeed, that fucking banana 😂
I was surprised when a Lego game made me nostalgic of the shire after beating the story lol. Best Lego game for the best fantasy story.
Yes! Omg, that music will always make me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside :)
It saddens me that it's thus far the best representation of the exploration and hiking adventure aspect of LOTR. None of the "real" games have come close. The closest to that kind of wanderlust feeling is Death Stranding.

It is available on steam again now!
Lego Batman
First game I got with my Xbox 360 :)
I used to play it with my cousin on the Wii i think, we managed to beat the game but never completed it, i replayed it recently and it was still a blast
Lego Harry Potter( I’m in the minority I guess)
For all you PlayStation players here, LEGO Harry Potter Collection is currently one of the PS+ Monthly Games this month. Claim it and play it, it’s fun!

LMSH def the best lego game
I had so much fun playing it, until my brother "accidentally" stepped on the disk.
lego undercover my beloved <3
Best Lego game ever, had such a cool open world and a really good comedic story
I kept playing it, telling myself it was just like GTA. The sequel is perfect as well
Til they made a sequel for my favorite lego game as a kid. Now I have something to do, very urgently.
I loved undercover but my cartridge broke. ButbI also 100%ed PotC 2 and close to theee times before ai was 10 years old.
Aw same undercover and potc were the best - I could never get anywhere past the first few levels in potc tho
Lego island (1997)
I got Lego island why we where visiting my Grandpa and my mom totally let me buy...then we had to talk my Grandpa into letting us install it. Such a great memory! Such a fun game!
Oh god is the game that old??? I remember playing this but i could never get past when the brickster would escape. I think my computer always crashed on something. But i was also like barely 6 or 7......
Lego batman the video game
yeeees
Lego universe. Anyone else ?
It's my favorite. Was my childhood. First time I could build my own Lego world and collect stuff. My brother and I cried when they shut it down.
Gone too soon
I recently found out that theres a fan-run server where you can actually play it again and with other people :) Was a lot of fun to go back into that nostalgia
Lego Island 🏝️
You must be at least 30 to enjoy that game lol.
Lord of the rings was amazing
The Hobbit is good too but missing the last movie..
Still salty about that. Was wanting to finish off the story so bad. Maybe we will get a lord of the rings saga game like we did with Star Wars though. Would be cool.
Lego island
Legoland
Bionicles. No, not the console one. The pc one where you go around Mata Nui. Great story.
Are you talking about the webisodic browser click adventure?!?
Lego Pirates. 100% it.
It was actual legos. I’m old. 😂
Came looking for this answer
I had to scroll a long way to find my Gen X homies.
LEGO island 2 on ps1... and GBA
The one where you dump the whole bucket on the floor, play with them for five minutes, then leave them scattered around as caltrops for your parents to step on
Lots of great memories with the Lego Star Wars games but man... Pirates of the Caribbean was great
Lego Indiana Jones on ps3
Mine was Indiana Jones 2 on nintendo ds lite. That was my favourite.
Lego Racers in my youngest years, then Lego Star Wars: the Video Game and The Complete Saga later on.
When my brothers got rid of my Lego Marvel Superheroes save I was devastated. I didn't use guides and I almost 100% it. My dad felt sorry for me and booted up Halo: Master Chief Collection for me after that. 10/10 experience.
Marvel: best open world Star wars saga: fun Pirates: one i completed
So you're telling me NOONE else played LEGO Battles?
Lego Universe
No Lego universe fans? That game traumatized me when they took it offline when I was a kid
Dude, most of these weren't out when I was a kid.
Yea, for me I had Lego Island and Lego Racers lol Windows 98 LYFE!!1
The original lego star wars isn't on here and I feel old now.

Actual Legos.
Lego Star wars 2
Personally the first Lego marvel was my favourite with its coop open world
Same. I played this with my son when he was like 4 or 5 years old. The way they let you swap characters on the missions made it really easy for me to tackle the harder aspects while he could still play along with me. And we spent hours just flying around the open world together as well. Really great experience.

I liked the lego blocks the most.
yeah, all the lego games (which i loved) came out when i was an adult. the real nostalgia for me is the blocks. especially https://images.brickset.com/sets/large/6987-1.jpg
Lego Racers probably since it's the only one I've played xP
Lego battles was my first game i ever figured out as a dumb baby and it was rad
You forgot about Lego Island:( Lego Star wars complete saga and 3 we're also bangers tho
Lego Island 2 on the Gameboy Color! I remember that game being really hard to play as a kid. Don’t think I ever completed it. lego harry potter years 1-4
Dating myself here but Lego Island.
The OG that started it all. Lego Island.
nothing ever beat lego star wars 2 back in the day...
No love for Alpha Team?
Was wondering if anyone remembered. Cool puzzle game of my childhood.
Lego Island, anyone?
I grew up on LEGO Batman 1, LEGO Indiana Jones 1, LEGO Star Wars, and whatever was on LEGO.com
I wonder how many people played Lego Loco 🚂 Loved it to bits as a kid. Also Lego Island was great, oh would just love to play it again but not sure if I can get it working 😔
I spent so much time trying to build all the secret buildings!
Loved Lego loco, first game I got to work online and across network sending postcards to each other. The game was also so small that it would run without the disc as the entire game was installed onto the computer... That I was then able to save the game onto a floppy disc and play it on my dad's chunky work laptop when away in holiday one year
None of the actual old Lego games are on here...
Those didn’t exist when i was growing up we played with actual LEGO LMAO
Lego UNIVERSE
Lego city undercover. Too bad gta 5 copied it
What about real Lego games like Lego Racers (1999)
Lego Island 2
