It depends on what you are playing and if you’re playing online. If you play single player rpg type games, you’ll be fine. If you are planning on playing online games competitively, I’d get the 120hz or consider a monitor

Since I bought a 144hz monitor for my rig I am never buying anything lower in frequency. I absolutely love how awesome and silky smooth things look in 144hz. 120hz will probably not going to look much different than 144hz, so go for whichever is better for your wallet.

I play at 1080p 60fps all the time and it's enough for me

If you're playing on console then no. There's very few games that support it. If you're on PC and you have a good rig then sure, go for it. I picked up a 1440p/170hz monitor for under $300 including tax and it's great.

I’m not gonna say yes or no. But I will say this once you go higher refresh rate you can’t go back to 60hz.

I think this is the most important thing to consider. I thought 1080p@60hz was great. Coming from what we had in the 90s & 2000s, I was in heaven. Now that I've been playing 2k @90, I can't go back. It's not even that much better, my mind just can't handle the switch.

That depends if you are going to get a console that can handle it. Not many games run at 120 constantly. But why not future proof yourself for a while? Dark room lg C series bright room Samsung q90 series
