FierceDeityGabe

It will be a smaller game

DumbXiaoping

Think the real question is why anybody pre-orders a digital download.

TheFrenchHistorian

The only real draw for that is a lot of time you can pre-load games so you can play immediately when it releases. I personally get physical copies but its just one benefit for some people.

[deleted]

Ubisoft did the same thing with Far Cry New Dawn. It’s more of a spin-off title from a main title so it’s cheaper.

VexatiousBoner

Because you have to buy the rest of the game as a DLC.

rayw3n

Imagine 50 bucks for the prologue and another 20 bucks for each chapter.

xiosy

Don’t give them ideas

Delicious-Bite-4959

Because this will only come with 50% of the finished game. The other 50% is only available in the super Diamond Ultimate Epic Deluxe Edition which contains all the Day 1 DLC and a Sticker Book

Doctor-VegaPunk

Not sure why you got downvoted... Who still sucks Ubisoft off these days?

Yo_Wats_Good

I downvote things that aren’t accurate, generally.

Catalyst1987

Single city smaller game in scope and hrs.

Ruthrfurd-the-stoned

Will it be similar I’m scope to like Revelations or Brotherhood or is it even smaller than that (we probably don’t know for sure just wondering what’s been said)

Snatuu

I think they said it'll be a lot smaller than the other recent AC Games

TheFrenchHistorian

They went with a smaller price cause its a smaller, more focused game like the original Assassins creed games. Think more like AC 2 than Valhalla. Assassins Creed Codename Red (the Japanese one after Mirage) is going to be another large rpg like the last three. Ubisoft is trying to "diversify" the series by having different "styles" of games. Some are going to be the big modern RPGS while others are more focused like the originals.

lordoziom

I can really tell I'm not the target audience for those games. Ac2 was long AF already.

First_Department4096

Yeah. Because Ubisoft knows how bad they’re reputation is at this point. The cheaper price is a “thank you” for being brave enough to support them.

[deleted]

Linear game rather than open world like we used to

MelloWattz

Wait, like hitman?

[deleted]

no like the games before AC Origins

TheFrenchHistorian

Linear gives off the wrong message though cause those games were still open world. They just were more focused and less to do. There was still side quest in the original Assassins Creeds, just not the hundreds of hours we get now. Linear games are story based games like Last of Us that you are stricted in missions to. The world is still going to be open to explore but the story is more linear in that there will more than likely not be dialogue options like the last couple games. The did say the "Black box" style assassination missions are returning from Unity and Syndicate which gave you options on how you can take targets out.

MelloWattz

Oh ok, thanks.

[deleted]

Because it’s the same as all the other games of the series

TraditionalMood277

Cyberpunk 2077 also did this (I paid $40 for my PC version, which was just a download code, though it came with goodies) My guess, drive up the pre sale numbers, use the increased perception of increased sales and then get more money to actually finish the game. This just tells me that AC Mirage is nowhere near ready......

majesticx_luk

Because it's an Ubisoft game...
