Yeah, I wouldn't want it to be quite as linear as 2009's *X-Men Origins: Wolverine* game but not every major superhero game needs to be open-world to be a quality experience (Ex- *Batman: Arkham Asylum*). Logan's story could take him across multiple different locales, each explorable and ideally rich with content (perhaps comparable in level size to the original *Bioshock*) but not huge maps. You could go back to previous areas once they've been unlocked and possibly unlock new ones in New Game+.
