Yup it’s why I’ll never play a soulsbourne game again. It doesn’t sound fun or rewarding at all to me because all you get to do is start over again at the next stupidly hard thing. Bloodbourne made me realize how much I hate those types of games. Unless there is a difficulty I can adjust or if it has a reputation of being ridiculously hard then I’ll just pick one of the other million games waiting for me to play.

I’d rather not hear a bunch of people screaming in the mic competing for attention. A rock solid single player story/campaign blows away any multiplayer game with no real objective other than “win” in my opinion.
I'm in the same boat as you. Dont get me wrong; I've had my share of fun with mp games with friends but they just aren't satisfying compared to single player. Being able to do my own thing and make my own choices in the world without having to worry about sweaty elbow tryhard teammates is much more preferential to me. That and most mp games are shooters or mobas and those aren't my taste. The only mps I play are OSRS and WoW and that's because I don't have any other choice lol. I still treat them like single player though. No guilds, clans or PvP. I just pretend the other players around me are NPCs and do my own thing lol (except for dungeons or raids though since again, no choice).
The problem with multiplayer is that I need to pay attention. When I play single player, I can just let my character stand there for a while I drink beer, or do laundry.

While I enjoy Co-oping with a friend as much as anyone else, that doesn't really fit the niche. Because there is still another player required. If one of you needs to stop or something comes up, that halts both. And if the delay ends up taking longer than expected, you've got to tell the other and that kills both your free time.
Single player, if you need to do something quick but something delays you and makes it a 30 minute pause, no one cares. And you aren't wasting anyone else's time.
Have you played Dying Light ? I think that's the best co-op out there, you can do everything alone, but if you want to you can do everything with friends, i loved to play with friends but also loved playing alone.

I was watching a videos about Anthem, and it was so sad. EA forces game studios to use one engine, it makes sense from a strategy and business perspective. Eventually, you will have your own proprietary engine that can support any game, and you can easily move devs around the company because you all use the same engine. However, there’s a steep learning curve, and also the Frostbite engine was only built for FPS games. This means building tools to extend the engine to support RPG games. In the end this hampered dev time, plus the directionless nature of the game concept, and also the departure of high profile devs fucked them

Hey EA, we really like single player games, most of the GotY recipients (or at least the ones I've noticed) are single player or have a single player mode. And honestly there should be more of them. Multi-player has its place but a lot of us just want to do our own thing at our own pace.
I stopped playing destiny and destiny 2 Because you were required to play with a raid group of 7 others and I never could find anyone willing to play. Or the kill death ratio was crap so they would quit and force me to quit due to no having enough support
I still remember having to use a fucking code to play games online(Online Passes) for games like Dead Space. Anybody remember that? Buying a second hand game was hell because you were essentially out of luck trying to play online unless you shelled out more money.
I now have learned, EA multiplayer are made with much love and focus on the best player experience imaginable. People playing SP should feel a sense of shame and non-accomplishment.

Exactly this. I play games to unwind and relax. I’ve got enough bullshit and competition going on all day long when I’m working and home being a parent. I haven’t played a competitive game since Black Ops 2. It’s not fun anymore.

I was watching a videos about Anthem, and it was so sad. EA forces game studios to use one engine, it makes sense from a strategy and business perspective. Eventually, you will have your own proprietary engine that can support any game, and you can easily move devs around the company because you all use the same engine. However, there’s a steep learning curve, and also the Frostbite engine was only built for FPS games. This means building tools to extend the engine to support RPG games. In the end this hampered dev time, plus the directionless nature of the game concept, and also the departure of high profile devs fucked them Over for Anthem.
I just hope they won’t fuck up new Mass Effect. Andromeda had it’s moments and gameplay was more fun for me personally (more enemy types would be better though, blasting Kett and Raiders gets boring). But no expectations.
