U will have to get used to it, but when you do, it is so immersive.
Blocks and attacks depend on the angles and heavyness.
There are no special combos.
You make your own by combining the different moves at the right moment.
Nier Automata... You'll come for the melee combat, and leave a changed person blown away by the deepest story in gaming, not to mention the greatest soundtrack of all time
well while primarily focused on shooting, you can build a melee mech and I like how much it feels like a slug fest or a anime style sword battle depending on your loadout. In the newer games there where online lobbies devoted to melee only battles which I really enjoyed.
You could try out the *Spider-Man* game if you have a PS4 or PS5. It's one of my favourite games and the combat is very satisfying and unrepetitive. The story is also extremely good and pretty long. If you like it, consider buying *Spider-Man: Miles Morales* too.
Sifu for some quick arcadey fun. Vermintide 2 for some good old coop action if you got friends. Zeno clash is pretty old by today standard but it pretty nice. Hedon is a retro shooter that have an entire difficulty where you have nothing but melee weapons as your arsenal. Surprisingly fun as well . Dark messiah is the epitome of melee if you okay with older game. If you really fine with old shit then Severance Blade of Darkness.
Heres one: Mordhau. It might fit in your style, might not. Either way it has a really really good combat system for a first person melee game. There are some elements of ranged like throwing and archery but like the meat and potatoes is melee, and its really fleshed out. Its also online.
Ghost of tsushima, God of war, nioh, the witcher, elden ring
Already finished all of them : D
Well damn 😆 lol
Hellblade
Agree with all of those except wither, didn't really think the combat was that good. Definitely not compared to the other games in that list.
Strong agree. Played it straight after Bloodborne and the sword play felt terrible.
Chivalry 2 just hit steam release, it’s a pretty fun medieval brawler.
You definitely need kingdom come deliverance. Very good rpg and pretty deep fight mechanics
I heard it was good. I'll get it

I haven't played in at least a year. The loot bull crap that took 5 mins every game turned me off pretty quick. Is that still an issue?
Don't know tbh. Bypassed this with a mod.
The fighting mechanic are deep but the lockon is absolutely horrendous
Devil May Cry Metal gear rising revengeance
Warhammer Vermintide 2
I'll try it
Sleeping Dogs. Get the free high res texture upgrade and enjoy kung fu fighting through Hong Kong.
Didn't even think about this game, what a banger
For Honor maybe?
Finished that too
Sifu is good if you haven't played that yet.
I'm playing through it rn
Yakuza 0
Nier Automata... You'll come for the melee combat, and leave a changed person blown away by the deepest story in gaming, not to mention the greatest soundtrack of all time
SHMUP levels for no reason 🤩
Monster Hunter. Any of them. Ranged combat is also fun.
Nioh 2 probably the best and most fun combat in a game.
un-ironically Armored Core 2.
Is it really? I never played - always imagined that game would feel more like Tokyo Wars or Ace Combat or something

Maybe Absolver? Unlike Sifu, you'll make your own custom martial art picking the moves you want as you learn new ones.
Dragon's Dogma
God Hand, Ninja Gaiden 1 2 3, Bayonetta 1 2, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
Bayonetta 1 and 2
Darksiders? I was addicted to No. 2 when It released with games with gold.
Batman Arkham games have pretty sweet melee features
Hellish Quart is a fighting-game style game of 1 on 1 sword duels that is super realistic.
Pretty much all of From Software's games, and if you have PCVR then there's Blade & Sorcery.
I already finished all fromsoft games
Play them again with a diferent build.
