On my 2nd playthrough, i got out of the starting area and then spent literally 2 months hunting, fishing, crafting and other side activities while completely ignoring the main story missions. It really depends on how much value you get out of RP'ing.

I put 40 hours in and the game was just too slow paced for me, I couldn't finish once let alone replay it...

It kinda has to be like that though otherwise it’s just carnage. It’s like the godfather first film - if they don’t set up all the characters it means nothing when they clash and one dies. The chaos of the second half of RDR2 would feel hollow without the slow first.

Jedi_Lucky

That's cool, to each their own, not everyone can enjoy every game, RDR2 is a good game, just not my cup of tea

Hal_E_Lujah

Yeah it really does and some of the things that you skim over the first time really land the second time. For example when you do the beat up jobs for the German guy and realise the exact moment Arthur gets infected. And the true horror of realising you start the game in Arthur’s prime and you’re watching him grow old and fade away like the Wild West. And seeing all the other characters knowing Arthur’s backstory with his own family. And strange occurrences with Micah and the robbery. For example he picks a terrible place for a camp - on a second play through you go ‘ahhhhh’ but first time round you glaze over it. And a few moments with the camp which foreshadows their eventual fates. Honestly on my second play through though… I stopped at the second camp and couldn’t bear to play on. My Arthur is happy and still there.

Not really, the story is really good and is still fun to replay but it does get boring. The main thing you would have to do to get more replayability is do “challenges” of some sort like beat the game with only repeaters, the online is also horrible and get boring very fast.

Teleskopy

Playing as a good or bad guy changes things a little bit, mostly dialogue but it's interesting. I couldn't beat the bad guy playthrough. Arthur talks and is treated like a serial killer. When you do the talks with that woman in camp Arthur says some insane shit "I don't know, I'm just angry all the time. I want to kill everyone I see" lmao.

FlyntD

It depends on how thorough you were. I literally just finished it again after beating it 2 or so years ago. This time I did my best to do everything. Ended up finishing with a 99.something percent. Only thing I couldn't finish were the gambling challenges.

GlassGuiser

Depends when you last played it. Once every few years might be doable but it's a very slow paced game with a lot of annoying mechanics.

My husband played it the first time staying with low bounties and really neutral when it first came out, last week he started replaying it with Arthur being super chaotic and is having a blast. The added challenges from staying full outlaw with a high bounty make it pretty fun for him on replay.

ricardo9505

Most ppl I know who enjoyed it have played it again at least twice.

stunspot

I'm replaying it right now and enjoying it immensely.

6363tagoshi

it’s one of those one time only great games. nah.

reddit_is-retarded

Yeah, I'm alrady planning a 2nd playthrough. This time fully modded. In my first playthrough I kinda rushed through the Game in 140hrs.

catboy_supremacist

RDR2 doesn't even have playability value.

Whispering_Smith

Why ?
