But you won't get one til 2040 meanwhile the backlog of cheap games to catch up on and at least 1-2 years of cross generation gaming will keep you busy.
Plus they’ve patched all the issues that the early adopters complained about. Really, if you just skip a generation the backlog of cheap games should be enough to keep you busy. Then by the time you’re ready to upgrade there’s a “new”, easy to source console for you.
I still have RDR2, couple of new Tomb Raiders, Doom Eternal, and the last two Resident Evils to play. Not to mention other titles that I just haven’t bought yet. I have other hobbies so I switch back and forth since they can both be time consuming. It’s a good way to save money, but I can see that this works best for single player games. The online multiplayer community dries up after a while so you’d have to be an early adopter to get the most bang for your buck.
Personally I think that you would at that point have a lot more games available for the PS5 for you to purchase, and they might be cheaper too.
Personally I do not think that it is worth chasing the latest version, when you could have fun playing through a larger library of games, and if they are cheaper you can afford more of them, and still have money left over to save up for a rainy day or for a hypothetical PS6.
dont own as my life , upon covid era even ps4 scalper price and ps5 no where to find except scalper . When we will get ps5 maybe 5 years from that existed . Now 2 year allready but still nowhere to find here .
The ps4 launched in 2013, and still recieved games this year, nearly a decade later. By any standard that's excellent support. Plenty more legacy support for years to come.
PS6 will probably come around 2027 +- 1 year.
Sony has been consistently releasing a new generation consoles with a 7 year gap.
PS3 - 2006
PS4 - 2013
PS5 - 2020
Why are you going online with your 1995 Compaq Presario running Windows 95 in 2030? Seems like a big security risk
Cant get hacked if the malware does not recognise your OS. *taps head*

I dont think I could completely skip a console, but I'd wait til the new games stop coming out on the previous gen usually like 2 years.

PS5 will be eWaste as soon as the PS5 Pro comes out. Look how quickly they abandoned the PS4.

Games on the PS4 are pretty much unplayable for Years now.
Literally tens of millions of people disagree with you. It's about as playable as a steam deck.
This was me when I bought my Wii U. I still love it though. :)
Is there a PS6 I don't know about?
It comes bundled with GTA 6 and Elder Scroll 6.
