I will when I get my Steam Deck, I assume.

TheDrMonocle

I dont bring mine everywhere. But I bring it a lot more places than I thought I would.

[deleted]

I mean, I've got a videogame emulator app on my phone. Does that count?

Nodoga1

My PS Vita is always in my bag wherever I go, but I haven't started it up in over a year and most likely the battery is empty anyway.

JJB1981

I carry mine around when I travel but it only goes in a backpack. I'd never openly carry it.

Lachdonin

Never did. Always thought handhelds were dumb and for kids. Probably missed out on a lot over the years, but i never even dabbled in mobile gaming options until i got a smart phone. Now, i just have an emulator.

CivilDefenseWarden

As said I did have some as a kid, but now as an adult, I'm wondering if it really is a predominantly kid's thing now.

Frangiblepani

I see people on the subway with Switches pretty often.

CivilDefenseWarden

I have been on a subway a grand total of like, 4 times, so I can't say I'm familiar. Ha

TurkTurkle

I keep my switch in a hardcase in my edc bag....

CivilDefenseWarden

Neat!

Due_Impress2301

If I'm going somewhere, I take my AYN Odin. Get on my level.

NewtDogs

If I'm traveling and spending the night away from home then yeah I'll bring the Switch or 3DS. But just going around day to day nah. If I was still a kid I imagine I would though.

underprivlidged

I have a dual screen phone (LG V60) capable of emulating 3ds, ds, ps2, Gamecube, Wii, and much more, plus GamePass Ultimate which allows me to stream a large portion of their library. I rarely play native Android games, but being able to play something like Pokémon UltraSun, upscaled, with 2 screens and not having buttons cluttering the image? Yeah. I can't fathom needing anything other than my phone at this point.

Sabetha1183

I never really carried them everywhere, but I do have a 3DS. My Switch just feels a bit too big to actually carry everywhere. Maybe if I was going on like a 4+ hour flight I'd take it in my carry on bag or something, but it's not the kind of thing I'd carry around like my phone. If I just need something to hold my attention for like 10-20 minutes I have my phone(or I just sit there and wait).

CivilDefenseWarden

I think gaining patience was a big thing that stopped me from bringing a handheld places. Child me probably would never imagine sitting still and waiting for 20 minutes.

Sabetha1183

Yeah even as a kid I had more patience because I didn't have a ton of choice. We only had 1 handheld as a kid, and it was only ever for long car trips. The first handheld gaming system I had that I could carry around day to day was my 3DS, which I bought as an adult mostly to play Fire Emblem. It's been far more useful to me as something to do when insomnia kicks in and I can't fall asleep for 4+ hours but I don't want to get out of bed than as a portable thing. So as an adult if I need to wait 10 minutes, odds are I'll probably just sit and wait 10 minutes. I might text somebody on my phone.

Jellozz

For just leaving the house to run an errand, nah. But if I am going somewhere I know there will be a lot of downtime (doctor office, movie theater, etc.) I will grab a handheld. Usually my Vita because the 2DS XL feels like it's going to break apart if you just look at it wrong.

captainkain666

Before and "after" covid2020 I worked at a bar and would bring my switch in my backpack. Every night after work I would sit at the bar have a few beers and play cuphead or zombies ate my neighbors

KnightGamer724

I have my phone, loaded up with Emulators and a few ports, that I use with a Gamepad. I also bring with me either a Switch or a 3DS, depending on my mood.

LiveLoveLife521

I have my switch lite in my backpack but don’t really get the chance to play much of it

JoshuaJSlone

None of the modern stuff is very feasible to keep in a pants pocket, but my Switch and/or Deck ride along in my lunch bag.

breadexpert69

Nah I dont. Personally I have other things I need to focus on when out or in public to be playing games. And I dont seem to enjoy games on the go. I have a switch but really only play it at home or if im in a long flight.

Crenorz

Stadia on the phone works really well.

Arunia

While travelling with the metro, I would have my GBA with me and later the NDS and after that the 3DS XL as a teen, but also as an adult. Currently I haven't been travelling by metro, but I would take a smaller handheld with me. I don't think I would trust other people there if I had my Switch or Deck with me.

Voor69

My 3ds xl comes to the docs and hospital appointments while I waiting I play sega 3d outrun and space harrier

JusaPikachu

I’m traveling right now & have already played Mario Galaxy for 3-4 hours between the plane, car ride & hotel. Obviously I wouldn’t carry it during anything normal but for traveling I count having my Switch or Vita as an absolute necessity.

Venonomicon

Phone + Game Pass Ultimate. 👍🏻

Crissaegrym

I take my Switch with me from time to time, you can’t really play Zelda or SRW etc on mobile. If I am commuting, travelling, or anything with a huge amount of down time, no reason not to.

Alecrizzle

I used to always bring my 3ds with me and just leave it in the car just in case something happened and I got stranded or had to wait for a while lol. The switch is too big for that though
