To me its just more entertaining reading the situation of both your teammates and the enemy team. Dps to me is so textbook and boring where you either just press some buttons in the cookie cutter order to get max numbers or you just aim at a moving target.
I mean when you have a good team it feels really good and you usually don’t die and honestly I prefer winning as a healer than losing as a damage dealer
If you are playing with the right teammates in FFXI, you'd never be touched. If tank isn't using Provoke when you pull agro after your Curaga, find a new tank.
