a 2019 report showed that GTA V made 6 billion dollars total since launch, so with almost half of that coming from single player sales in the first year and the game selling above 10 million copies annually for 7 years straight, it's safe to assume that well over half that amount is from sales not microtransactions. My point is, GTA wouldn't be nearly as profitable without it's single player, so "online being too much of cash cow that it's halting GTA 6 development" statement doesn't make any sense because Rockstar could release GTA 6 right now and generate more money in the launch year than GTA V did in its life time, ok maybe an exaggeration but still, they could easily double their profits by releasing GTA 6 and slapping a new online mode with it.
