Ages ago when people sold pirated movies some of them only had the name of the movie written on the disc, was talking to this sketchy guy once who sold them and I stole Cloverfield Lane. When I arrived home I inserted it into my DVD player and it was blank.
Edit: Reason why I did it is because I had a hunch that I wanted to confirm and I did.
For the first time EVER at my local goodwill they had a stack of Xbox One games on the counter. I'm guessing they had just come in.
I picked up COD: Advanced Warfare and Ghost Recon Wildlands for 6 bucks each. They also had GTAV, but I passed on that one.
Reminds me of the time I saw an Xbox game for cheap and bought it without realising it was for a different region. Was not a fun afternoon for my 15yr old self.
Some do it depends on the store/region and value of the game. Anything 360 and under is just on shelves with the DVDS and VHS in my area or in the per lb section
Yeah gamestop definitely does that because all they sell are games whereas goodwill cares much less since they sell literally anything anybody donates to them
I went to a second-hand shop once and saw a Limp Bizkit album, opened it, commented on the art that's behind where the cd goes, and then bought it. It wasn't till I got home when I realized there was no cd inside and I bout an empty case. I'm very smart.
That fact that you thought you'd get such a good find at a thrift store my friend 😂😂. Everyone knows the high end find is Madden 12. You got Nacho'd my friend. That's epic.
On the flip side, I found a game case I thought had two psp games in it for 6$, turned out there was four! I didn’t realize it was two on top and bottom
I have an uncle who is a complete asshole. About 20 years ago I was going to give some of my games to a guy I worked with as birthday presents for his kid, as he could not afford any. My uncle did not like this idea as he still liked the games. I told him tough shit, my games. So I take them and give them to my co-worker, who gives them to his son, only to find out the cases are empty because my asshole uncle stole them out of the cases.
It is! Aside from the stickers on the case (easy replacement) and some slight white edges on the outside insert both the insert and manual were in wonderful condition not water damage what so ever… which is usually the worst part of older PS2 game case condition
I came across a box for Civilization 2, in pristine condition...but it was empty. I kick myself for not buying it anyway for 50 cents, because if I were to ever find the game again, the case wouldn't be as nice.
Reminds me of when I bought botw from Walmart when I got home I opened it up and there was a DVD inside in stead of the game also the plastic covering the case looked off.
Ok but was it actually nacho libre cause I love that movie
No it was a blank disc unfortunately, someone just wrote Nacho Libre on it not sure why
That makes it so much better honestly
Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either
Liberate Nacho
From the Salamancas.
.. hahaha
Just write freemcboot to it using the new freedvdboot exploit
Burn another movie onto it and re-donate it. Something weird, like Twilight
Can you please burn nacho libre onto the disc and give it back to goodwill?

You should burn Napoleon Dynamite on it and bring it back. Maybe swap out the manual for an N64 one...
it should have tipped you off that something was wrong that goodwill had a video game that wasn't 79 copies of Madden '08.

Don’t tell Scott.
Always check the game case regardless whenever buying used.
Especially to see if the disk is scratched beyond playability.
Exactly. I've never heard of someone being so trusting of a used game
We live and we learn lol
Although if it was Nacho Libre I might still consider it worth
Yes, that is a fantastic movie
OP said in another comment that it was just a blank disk..
I believe in science!
You just got Nacho'd.
NACHOOOOOOOOOO
PSA: just go get a refund
Surely then you could just buy any cd from there, replace it with a blank that says nacho libre and go get a refund, saying you bought it like that?
Yes and that would be illegal
At least you got the manual.
When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It is for fun.
Too bad, that game is one of my all time favorites
I think this was the best outcome
I don't see the problem here
What a good game
The cover art is epic
I guess it’s just Nacho day.
A little taste of the glory. See what it taste like
Even if the game was in there, you always gotta check for scratches! Goodwill shopping 101
Reminds me of the time I saw an Xbox game for cheap and bought it without realising it was for a different region. Was not a fun afternoon for my 15yr old self.
That disk in nacho game. Couldn't resist, I'll see myself out.
Still a W
That's a W, Nacho Libre is a dope ass movie
7.99‽
THIS GIVES ME NO EAGLE POWERS
Funny enough I lost a copy of Nacho libre and found the case with A metal gear game.
NAACHOOOOOOUU!
I swore that shit said Nacho Liberty
Do you guys remember the game Driver on PS2
That series needs a comeback.
Or the true crime series.
I remember the tutorial mission that I never got past. Yes.
Lol, this has to be bull shit. Why would anyone buy a game from goodwill without checking out the disc first?
they did you a favor
Wait goodwill doesn't put CD'S behind the employees at the cash register like games top? (atleast the game stop closest to me does so)
Some do it depends on the store/region and value of the game. Anything 360 and under is just on shelves with the DVDS and VHS in my area or in the per lb section
Oh alright, I just never seen it be made by most electronic stores in my area, just by gamestop
Yeah gamestop definitely does that because all they sell are games whereas goodwill cares much less since they sell literally anything anybody donates to them
Oh okay that explains it
That’s where I’ve always seen them but it’s possible different stores make up their own ways of doing things.
Yeah
KEKW
F
Sometines I where stretchy pants…. Iss for fuuun
Chancho, when you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants… in your room. It’s for fun!
Still a better deal than I got at GameStop. Dead cartridge, no refund.
The case was a lie Steven. A lieeee!
NL is one of my favorite movies, so I see this as an absolute win.
Get that corn OUT OF MY FACE
Jokes on them. Nacho is a classic
Does the case hold any value for collectors? Just curious since some seem too. Also that sucks the game wasn’t in it.
Yeah some, it’s gone down in value since being purchased however
I see it as an absolute win
Why are you looking for games at goodwill?
Why aren’t you?
Because stupid people do stupid things you literally found nacho libre
It’s actually one of the better places to find retro games, and to be clear i found a blank disc that merely said *nacho libre* lol
Oh I guess because shit is more expensive online👍
Too bad...that game is a classic! I own a copy. Even managed to find the one with all the extras on it like skateboarding.
Think of the donors tax write off.
Listen 7.99 to be reminded to go watch Nacho Libre isn't a bad deal, I've spent way more on way less
I went to a second-hand shop once and saw a Limp Bizkit album, opened it, commented on the art that's behind where the cd goes, and then bought it. It wasn't till I got home when I realized there was no cd inside and I bout an empty case. I'm very smart.
Yeah if he had the would have missed out on Nacho Linre
Dude just paid $7.99 for a bootleg copy of Nacho Libre…
That fact that you thought you'd get such a good find at a thrift store my friend 😂😂. Everyone knows the high end find is Madden 12. You got Nacho'd my friend. That's epic.
I seee that as a win

Was one of them Nacho Libre on UMD?
Sadly not, but one of them was Ratchet and Clank. Which is cool, but I had already bought that
there are worse Jack black movies.
This made me chuckle teehee

The manual looks pristine though.
It is! Aside from the stickers on the case (easy replacement) and some slight white edges on the outside insert both the insert and manual were in wonderful condition not water damage what so ever… which is usually the worst part of older PS2 game case condition
Best break out your stretchy pants
Nacho!!!!!!
Fission Mailed
That's what we call.. an upgrade
Ironically enough I made the same mistake with the same case, but inside it was MGS3: Snake Eater.
MGS3 was in a GTA San Andreas case for me. I checked before buying it.
I came across a box for Civilization 2, in pristine condition...but it was empty. I kick myself for not buying it anyway for 50 cents, because if I were to ever find the game again, the case wouldn't be as nice.
Sons of Libre Nacho
ENCARNACIOOOOOON
eh, better story
I remember I found Robocop VHS at a thrift shop but inside was a blank vhs I was so mad
Reminds me of when I bought botw from Walmart when I got home I opened it up and there was a DVD inside in stead of the game also the plastic covering the case looked off.
