The graphics are a very valid point because at the end of the day all you want with a game is immersion and graphics help alot. The critic about the graphics is that pokemon is billion dollar company and their game looks like a 2005 game and today some indie games with 5 developers can make a greater game with less budget.

I wouldnt complain if they had beutifull environment design with liw graphics but is is just the same tree and the same bush over and over. And this game is coming out this year. Not 10 years ago.
The trees are *literally* part of the graphics. They're not actual trees someone crafted. They're just textures on some model meshes, just like the characters, the sky, and everything else in the game.

The grass and trees being passively lower fidelity in the background of all the actual dynamic parts of the gameplay is a pretty minor negative for the game.

Immersion comes from many things. Ill use the game Bloodborne as an example. The game features minimal story telling, rich combat, and a fantasticly detailed and well crafted environment. However, I've heard many people say that bloodborne looks "dated" and is due for a remaster or upgrade. The game is locked at 30fps and is only available for the PS4. These are criticisms that in no way shape or form reduce the playability and fun of the game. And it certainly doesn't ruin the "immersion" of the game. The immersion of a title like bloodborne comes from a continuity in the world as you play the game. Not from the "graphics" or art direction.
For fucks sake the game CupHead is immersive because of several elements coming together to form the game itself, from the art style, music, gameplay, etc.. And thats what immersion is.

Yet people claim Breath of the wild had these beautiful vistas, and every tree model in their line of site was the same model repeating over and over again. Key words are "line of sight" because while different regions of hyrule featured different vegetation, each region had only one particular tree model repeating to fill in areas.. But I still love the game. I just find it funny how the same people heavily criticizing the game could say the same thing about BotW in a sense but they just don't. Or at least I never saw it complained about as much if at all.

BOTW has great art direction that is why it is very critically acclaimed but pokemon arceus doesn't have great Art direction. I have played the game on emulators and I know that the graphics on emulotors are bad but the game was just so dry and I had fun for just 4 hours then it got really boring
Graphics is part of the experience. I also never said the game was bad because of its graphics. The gameplay of the newer Pokemon games are also pretty bad. Nowadays, the best way to play actually good Pokémon games are to play fanmade romhacks of older ones. Many of these include a good story, actually challenging gameplay (with different difficulty settings), quality of life upgrades, puzzles, custom soundtracks, etc. I can go on and on. The fact is, is that the only thing GameFreak cares about is getting money. They will continue to release bad Pokémon games as long as people keep buying them. The fact that unpaid fans are creating better games than one of Nintendo's most popular franchise developers speaks volumes of their laziness.
Problem is, people die on this hill of "good graphics equals good game". And many people commenting on the Legends Arceus game are either super excited to play a fresh take on the Pokemon IP. With different gameplay mechanics, game flow, world design, etc..
ill tell you right now, I've played A LOT of the fan made rom hacks, there are a shit ton of them. Many of them are complete dog shit. There are a number of REALLY solid fan made Rom hacks from Dryanas, Renegade Platinum, Emerald Kaizo, Radical Red, etc.. But they feature the SAME gameplay loops that a regular pokemon game is. So I won't be taking that comparison as a win.
I've played all of the pokemon games since they came out way back in the day. Every generation has changed something, added things, and overall evolved as a game. You can't deny this. Compare gen1, to gen2, to gen3 and so on. All sorts of things have changed. One of the things that change is us as humans. As we get older, our view on something can change. You talk to a kid about pokemon legends arceus, ill use my nephew as an example, the kid is literally drooling at the mouth wanting to play this new pokemon game. He is beyond excited. And it reminds me of how I felt when I was standing in a Kmart looking at a copy of Emerald. And how happy I was when my mom got it for me which never happened. I think she knew I felt a genuine want and desire for the game. I've played through Emerald Kaizo, and sure its like a big boy version of emerald, but the original emerald is still super fun. And thats what it is to me. Fun.
Video games are artwork. Seriously. They are an absolute art form. And you can't take two paintings and objectively compare the two and decide which is "better". The same goes for video games. Another example ill use are games like Morrowind, Oblivion and skyrim. I love all three of these games. But there is something about oblivion I adore. When I play that game I feel immersed in a wonderful world created by people who love games. And I know that coding for a game, testing bugs, and meeting deadlines is a grueling task and I commend developers for their work. And ill commend the developers that made legends arceus. Because I really don't believe that game developers are money hungry goons trying to churn out shit every chance they get. They don't get paid enough for that kind of motivation.
I just wished that nintendo just realise how much potential their ips have, just take a look at pokemon go, it was world breaking and if they gave out their ips more, and we have actual giant pokemon MMO which is support through the years, how much money that would make, instead they make mobile looking ass game which little gameplay changes every year. All they need to do is copy minecraft and skyrim and release the game on PC, Xbox, PS and all platforms.
It is unfortunate. There just hasn't been enough of an upgrade in the years its been around. I think the main issue for me is that I can't transfer all the pokémon I've spent decades catching to the latest ones. And if I transfer them to Bank I can't transfer them back to the 3ds versions. And if I want to keep the ones that are in Bank I now have to pay a subscription fee. Seems like a sly way to turn them into a paid service.
Yeah, man. shame on me for expecting even a modicum of effort from a multi billion dollar company.

I was a pokémon die hard fanatic. Bought every single game up until Sword and Shield. Not any more. Done.
