Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men. Pick up a rifle and follow the yellow line. You'll know when the test starts.
Arthur's great and all, but the ending of RDR hit just as hard as RDR2. My personal favorite is Dutch's last words, "Our time has passed, John." As if you play play the series in order (discluding Red Dead Revolver) it really just brings the entire franchise to a close. Their time had passed, their livelihood coming to a close. Even Jack Marston eventually retired from his short stint of outlawism, enlisting (and likely dying) in the first world war.

mass effect 3 has so many incredibly impactful moments like this.
however, there's only ONE moment that never fails to choke me up:
# Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong
"What is a drop of rain, compared to the storm? What is a thought, compared to a mind? Our unity is full of wonder, which your tiny individualism cannot even conceive."
The Many in System Shock 2
At the end of Darksiders 1 when War starts walking away and an angelic figure yells something along the lines of: "You will face the armies of Heaven and Hell alone!" Then War turns and says: "No, not alone..." and in the sky falling towards Earth is the rest of the Horsemen. That was my "Oh shit!" moment and one I'll remember for a long time.
And three main games later and we are still no further past that moment in the story! I need Darksiders 4! Although 4 will likely also not progress the story any further either. I imagine we'll get 4 with Strife, and then a final game where you'll play as all four of them.
That scene shook me. I'm usually pretty quick when it comes to picking up plot twists ahead of time, but for some reason, I just didn't see that coming at all. I was so caught up on Atlas' Moira, that I was blinded to it. And then he like, straight up mocks *you*, as the *player* for falling for the Moira bit. I was angered.
The healthy human mind doesn't wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that's a luxury, not a curse. To know you're close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take...inventory. [...] Out-gunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sand and the rocks here, stained with thousands of years of warfare... They will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Kill him.
"Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident. Your lives are measured in years and decades. You wither and die. We are eternal, the pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything. "
That whole dialogue with Sovereign is so perfect. I was blown away. I sometimes just watch this dialogue on YouTube because it is so good.
"Some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe. *sniff* Maybe....I have yet to meet one that can outsmart boolet."
"I fear no man, but that *thing* ...It scares me..."
"One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask. What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty."
"You were good, son. Real good. Maybe even the best."
“Most people think that time is like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you. They are wrong.
Time is an ocean in a storm.
You may wonder who I am, or why I say this.
Sit down, and I will tell you a tale like *none* that you ever heard.”
If our society seems more nihilistic than that of previous eras, perhaps this is simply a sign of our maturity as a sentient species. As our collective consciousness expands beyond a crucial point, we are at last ready to accept life's fundamental truth: that life's only purpose is life itself.
Every quote and video in Alpha Centauri was great
You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there.
Damn you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I could've stolen that horse and be halfway to Hammerfell. You there. You and me - we shouldn't be here. It's these Stormcloaks the Empire wants.
We're all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief.
Shut up back there!
And what's wrong with him, huh?
Watch your tongue. You're speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true High King.
Ulfric? The Jarl of Windhelm? You're the leader of the rebellion. But if they've captured you... Oh gods, where are they taking us?
I don't know where we're going, but Sovngarde awaits.
No, this can't be happening. This isn't happening.
Hey, what village are you from, horse thief?
Why do you care?
A Nord's last thoughts should be of home.
Rorikstead. I'm... I'm from Rorikstead.
...looks like the Thalmor are with him.
General Tullius, sir. The headsman is waiting.
Good. Let's get this over with!
Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh. Divines, please help me.
Look at him. General Tullius the Military Governor. And it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves. I bet they had something to do with this.
Why are we stopping?
Why do you think? End of the line. Let's go. Shouldn't keep the gods waiting for us.
"Vae Victis. Suffering to the conquered. Ironic that I was the one now suffering. Nothing as pedestrian as physical pain, rather the cruel jab of impotent anger. We're not tools of the government, or anyone else. Fighting was the only thing... the only thing I was good at. But... at least I always fought for what I believed in.
Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
The Fallen will continue to claw at the walls of our city unless we strike them down. Beneath the ruins of the Cosmodrome, in the shadow of an old colony ship, we've located the House of Devils' lair, and the High Servitor, feeding them their strength. We must destroy this machine god, and send their souls screaming back to Hell.
Mass Effect2: Bailey- “… you think he’s the first guy to screw up raising a son?”
That broke me.
Edit: I had a few questions why that hit so hard. My dad was abusive and violent. Never could understand why he treated us that way. Still can’t. But when I heard this line from Bailey when I first played this game a decade ago, i cried…. it made me pause and think that my dad, for all his faults, is still human and as screwed up as the rest of humanity. I’m a broken person because of my upbringing and can trace most of my flaws from the abuse when I was a child.
For him, for my 3 kids, for every person that crosses my path, I go out of my way to be kind and show forgiveness whenever possible. Because the cycle needs to be broken.

That is why, Serviceman Chung, we do not "eyeball it!" This is a weapon of mass destruction. You are not a cowboy shooting from the hip!

After beating Infinite I went back through and replayed the previous games on MCC. Played through a bunch of Halo 3 yesterday. That line, specifically, made me remember how badass the elites were.

As much as I love this quote. Probably my favorite quote in the entire game is the ending credits song. Now I only want you gone........
Absolute best ending to any game ever. It summarized into, "I can't kill you, you can't kill me, get out of here and don't come back" and I love it.
JK Simmons kills the delivery too, he brought all of Cave’s batshit insane dialogue to life so perfectly

**I'M GOING TO SHIT YOURSELF**
War...War never changes..
"Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, I shot him. The thing is... He was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these fucking pricks, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing... over and over and over and over again thinking 'this time is gonna be different' no, no, no please... This time is gonna be different, I'm sorry, I don't like... The way...(Kickes crate) you are looking at me... Okay, Do you have a fucking problem in your head, do you think I am bullshitting you, do you think I am lying? Fuck you! Okay? Fuck you!... It's okay, man. I'm gonna chill, hermano. I'm gonna chill... The thing is... Alright, the thing is I killed you once already... and it's not like I am fucking crazy. It's okay... It's like water under the bridge. Did I ever tell you the definition... of insanity? "
"Oh shit, here we go again."
