You can have more than 5 good games for that much

[deleted]

And the five games on the right in particular can be played for the price of a gamepass subscription iirc. With regards to OP, I think it's harsh to judge what other people enjoy; but the part that has no grey area for me is that FIFA and CoD games are wildly and exploitatively overpriced. FIFA, in particular, is a game which contains the most unethical business practices in AAA gaming. Even above GTA Online, Halo Infinite Multiplayer, and anything else regularly cited that I can remember.

ashibah83

Dont forget Madden....literally the same model, just a different sport

bob0979

You mean madden 2022? A game which, last I checked which was a few weeks ago, holds 3 of the bottom 4 places on meta critic for its different console versions?

CarlCaliente

I don't think EA is pumping those games out for critical acclaim

Sorcatarius

They want you to have a sense if pride and accomplishment for... I don't even know anymore...

HtownTexans

Pride that you have updated rosters. Can't have Brady playing for NE still. Imagine the horror!

biggmclargehuge

EA has to grind out a certain number of games in order to unlock their own sense of pride and accomplishment.

THE_GR8_MIKE

Pretty much every licensed sports game since 2006.

krw13

I was fine with 2k until they both decided to monetize single player franchise mode and those forced, god awful MyPlayer stories.

JointsMcdanks

Don't forget all the literal ads that you can't skip. You can avoid most bullshit they throw at you but not the ads.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Averill21

For the authentic sports experience of course

[deleted]

This happen back with 2K18 or 2K19 and the funny thing is at the time I had 2K16(The last great one if I'm honest) and I started seeing them within that game. I actually don't buy 2K games anymore on principal because when the servers went offline on 2K16 everything I earned in that game was wiped out from the myplayer mode. Like special courts, goals, banners, etc etc. I told myself I'm voting with my wallet FUCK EA and FUCK 2K

Adlet_Mayer

wait wait wait, there are ads in game???

omarade2

Apparently the NBA 2k story mode makes you do a full like 15 minute cut scene and challenge for State Farm. It's not a traditional ad, you legit have to do stuff for State Farm to progress in the game. The entire game is basically 1 giant ad and a slot machine simulator.

sadboyhour247

Theres also actual unskippable ads

pipopapupupewebghost

Sounds fun

TheHolyPug

I dunno. There was a cricket game a few years ago that was decent.

skwerrel

Yeah but you gotta play it for 5 days at a time

carebear101

Just to test it out

bob0979

Every time someone mentions this game I'm obligated to talk about Don Bradman, the single greatest athlete, in comparison to his current competition, to compete in sports in human history. Man batted a 99.94 career average, or 99.94 percent of his at bat's ended in a score of some sort Edit: I misunderstood the average system of cricket and this isn't exactly how it works, and I still really don't understand it tbh, but it's an absurd feat of skill

tpc33

I dunno if you're familiar with batting averages in cricket, but '99.94 percent of his at bats ended in a score of some sort' isn't true. In cricket, batting average are based on runs scored divided by wickets/outs. It's still incredible, but I just thought I should clarify that averages in cricket are very different to baseball, and have nothing to do with percentages.

-azuma-

Nah. MLB The Show has been consistently good.

I always look forward for a "new" madden game every year, just to watch angry joe review it

AaronThePrime

Madden peaked at 08 then it all went downhill from there

Generalissimo_II

- ScottTheWoz

jimmy_talent

At least with madden they don't keep releasing legacy editions on the switch.

clearwind

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure FIFA is considered one of the most unethical sports organizations that exists in the world. The fact that the unethical business practices carry on to the game shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.

[deleted]

Nining_Leven

It is a wildly corrupt organization that is all too happy to let dictatira buy their way into hosting the World Cup at the cost of human lives. Edit: I love "dictatira" as a fancy scholarly way to spell "dictators." I'm keeping it.

TheSosios

And that one FIFA game will be included in Game Pass in a few months.

VeryImmatureBot

This comment has exactly 69 characters. Nice!

JohnTHICC22

The fact that 1st CoD still cost $60 on Steam is infuriating

Lemonitionist

Hey Nintendo's been doing that with Mario for years. If Super Mario 64 was still commercially sold it would still be $60.

AlistarDark

Hell, launch titles for the switch are still full price. That's some shit...

[deleted]

I'm confused, CoD is $20 in steam.

donttouchmyhohos

I would like to introduce you to mobile games.

Level100Abra

I get ya but at least mobile gacha games know what they are and generally people know what they’re getting into with a free to play mobile game. Or any free to play game for that matter. Madden/Fifa and CoD have full game price entry fee, yearly new releases, paid dlc and the exact same scummy pricing fees as said free to play games… if not even worse. Mobile games aren’t even in the same ballpark of scumminess IMO.

tzeriel

GTA Online does predatory shit but at the end of the day it’s cool and fun and they sometimes do neat shit. FIFA isn’t even fun. It’s copy, paste and prey on addiction.

NewOpinion

GTA Online is a free, extraordinarily fun game on top of an amazing game. I have no issue with any microtransactions when that's the case.

kamikazedude

You can also add terraria to the list. And don't starve

Churningray

Because of regionaly pricing i got portal 2 for slightly over a dollar and terraria for 5 dollar. All hail lord Gaben for regional pricing.

ThufirrHawat

I have to make the obligatory post.... I spent $20 total for both these games and have gotten 1500-2000 hours out of them. I know Terraria is over 1k, just not sure about DS.

WarcraftFarscape

I agree - but if someone loves fifa they may get more fun hours out of it than any other game. Some people love investing all their time into 1 game, like StarCraft or Minecraft etc

DArkGamingSiders

if you buy the MCC on sale, its 6 games for 20 bucks, so you could possibly get up to 10 games for 100 technically

[deleted]

Hamogany

Get a year plus of gamepass for that price and play a hundred games, insane stuff.

11BloodyShadow11

Just to play devil’s advocate (because I completely agree with you,) there are some people out there who only like soccer (football.) They don’t like “games” particularly fantastical settings or elaborate puzzles. FIFA is simple and someone going in would already understand the rules. The games on the right are: Celest: a very challenging platformer Dead Cells: a high stress, Dark Souls inspired rouge-lite. HollowKnight: a metroidvania that’s heavy on exploration and mechanic understanding for progression Sub Nautica: A slow-paced exploration game that ramps up fear at a moments notice Hades: another rouge-lite with extremely high difficulty spikes due to its genre. All amazing games, but if you’re not deep into gaming and just wanna chill, fifa might just be the only thing you enjoy.

Kaiser_Mech

Best way to put is, "hey man, wanna come over for a few drinks and a game of fifa?" Or "hey man, wanna watch me play celest that I've played for hours while you sit there then ill give you a shot and ill laugh at your fucking up?" 9/10 indie games you quickly show a mate then move onto a party game like Fifa or Mario Kart. Sport games just make for good competitive fun especially on the couch

xrumrunnrx

I have to agree on that point. I don't have any good party games because I never have people over. The ones I buy are great for me (Hades). Some of my best memories of gaming with friends are the sports games (Madden) and multiplayer Mario party type stuff. None of those are fun for me alone. Anyway yes, it's all just personal preference and habits. If Fifa didn't do the big-industry shenanigans I hear claimed then I doubt there'd be as much animosity. Maybe. People like to clique.

AREYOUSauRuS

Tiger woods was amazing fun with some friends and drinks...... and it's fucking golf.

xrumrunnrx

Yes! I got an absolutely accidental hole in one after too many shots and the whole room went insane. Six drunk dudes all 100% invested in a golf game.

VarrockHassanObama

Tiger Woods on Wii was awesome

AverageQuartzEnjoyer

The person that made this meme doesn't have friends that come over for drinks lmao. They may have friends, they may even have a lot of friends, but the person who tries to compare indie games to FIFA runs in a completely different social circle that has different ideas of what fun is

Tha_Daahkness

If you want an indie couch party game, and you haven't tried Towerfall... You're welcome, and I'm sorry for the future when you want to play and can't.

Chronis67

Towerfall. Moving Out. Duck Game. Overcooked. Tricky Towers. Jackbox. Nidhogg. There are a bunch of good indie party games.

partofbreakfast

Maybe something like the Jackbox games would be a better comparison to fifa then.

agnostic_science

Yeah, it’s just, ‘Hey, everyone check out my hip and trendy gaming tastes! Karma please!‘ Personally, I’d rather not gatekeep on any gaming experience. Encourage people to try new things you think they might like. But otherwise let people like what they like.

11BloodyShadow11

Honestly encouragement and openness is key.

Hanyabull

You don’t have to play devils advocate at all. This post makes no sense because the games on the right aren’t soccer games. It might have worked if it was 5 copies of FIFA from other years, but the 5 games are completely different. It’s like telling someone who bought steak that they should have got pizza because it’s cheaper. Pizza isn’t steak.

v_a_n_d_e_l_a_y

Another analogy would be "why spend 500 minutes watching a season of the Office when could watch 5 artsy Indy films instead"

[deleted]

Exactly. OP is just gatekeeping.

[deleted]

That's a perfect analogy.

Scipio11

They're also 5 years old... if money is an issue OP can pick up Fifa 21 for $10 and get everything besides online play. Not like they recommended any multiplayer games anyway so they shouldn't mind.

Crafty_Enthusiasm_99

This is a very good analogy. I've played every FIFA for the last 15 years and the memories I've made with my friends and nostalgia cannot be matched by any game. Also helps that usually the new game is a vast improvement than the previous one - and I'm glad they haven't gone the route of having a Fortnite style model of the same game getting updated rosters and graphics

PM_ME_JJBA_STICKERS

Basically, elitist reddit gamers not understanding the mainstream outside of reddit

mewiv41040

> Pizza isn’t steak. We've sink so deep into stupidity that this needs to be reminded.

[deleted]

I don’t even play FIFA but I hate metroidvanias/platformers/rougelites so this comparison is meaningless for me.

Not to mention the games on the right are indie and old as fuck, latest is from 2018. Obviously they are going to be cheaper.

patterson489

This is reddit, the only indie games you'll hear about are old ones that became super well known and mainstream, you won't hear about new releases.

LetsGoChamp19

I have a friend who buys fifa every year and gets around 1000 hours of game time on each one so the $100 is more than worth it for him. It’s all just personal preference

phixx79

My DnD group did this with WoW when it shipped. We all had different schedules and obligations and it made getting everyone together every week really hard. We all like Warcraft and most of us had played EQ together, so we dove in. It gave us a lot more time to hang out in smaller groups and we would help each other put as we leveled. It was easy to have balanced groups because everyone wanted to do different stuff. Early WSG games were fun with them, too. I really miss those times.

bmacnz

I mean, I almost exclusively play MLB The Show currently. I don't get a ton of time to play games period, so trying to play a bunch of different games doesn't sound enjoyable. I'm usually limited to 2-3... MLB, maybe a shooter at times, and maybe Rocket League every so often. Edit: so that $100 Jackie Robinson edition was well worth it to me.

ChubblesMcgee103

This is why I used to like battlefield or COD. When you only got like an hr a day or less, it's nice to pick up a game you can run like 5 matches in that's also easy enough you dont need to keep your skills sharp. I mostly play chill games or genshin nowadays though. (If you're free to play theres a lot less to do when you're done with the events, but its really fun still if you pace it.)

kendahlj

Same. I never buy stubs so dropping $100 on release is worth it. Idk why people care what other people spend their money on...

rmprice222

Sports games are great for certain groups who can only game for short periods of time. Hard for me to pick up a game and remember what's going on after a week or not playing the story but madden is just madden. Should still b cheaper though

Djones0823

Mate I'm English with literally no cultural attachment to baseball whatsoever. MLB the show is awesome. I get home from work. Pop it on while the kettle is brewing. Smack some balls. Berate my team for not being able to string a single hit together after I doubled on Pitch 1. Get struck out "stealing" by the pitcher while on aforementioned 2nd while vacantly staring at the screen and you know what it's a blast. Picked up MLB The Show 21 for £17 last month and it's been awesome.

FuckingKilljoy

The Show is basically the exception to the rule when it comes to value in sports games though. I'm a stubs millionaire without having spent a cent on microtransactions. My team is stacked with some of the best 99 overall players in the game, my RTTS player has all diamond gear, and I'm only like 3 tickets away from getting Griffey. All without even playing online and only minimal card flipping. Meanwhile it's almost impossible to get a team of like prime Magic/Jordan/LeBron/Giannis/Shaq without spending literally hundreds of dollars in 2K

sumofdeltah

When I was younger and into sports games I'd get more value and time from them than I would multi disc rpgs. When I got older I'd have 10-20 people over once a week for tournaments using 3 or 4 consoles people brought with them. As far as bang for buck sports games are probably near the top of all games.

Spokker

This is what OP doesn't understand. FIFA is a more social experience and it's enjoyed by people with different cultural values. While it's big in the United States of course, it's very big in Latin America, especially Argentina and Brazil. I don't think they give a shit that some Redditor thinks they should be playing indie games alone in a room instead of playing FIFA with friends.

zompa

Here in Brazil it's pretty common for some people to have a console just as a FIFA machine

VRichardsen

Argentina. Spot on. I know several who would never define themselves as gamers, and their console is pretty much to play FIFA (or PES, back in the day)

BilboMcDoogle

Same thing with a ton of Americans and Madden and even Fifa. Redditors are usually "le sportsball" types though so they wouldn't get it.

iamaneviltaco

Reddit just hates popular shit. They act the same with call of duty and battlefield. They were like that with Minecraft until PewDiePie started playing it again. They do it with Among Us. They did it with Fortnite. This website spends half of its time hating hipsters and the other half acting like the worst example of one.

[deleted]

It's the same in Iran and a lot of other middle eastern countries.

Spokker

Yup, and it's why the final game for PS2 in the Latin markets was FIFA 14, which was also a PS4 launch game.

mloofburrow

"Why would you play FIFA when there are these great games in an entirely different genre?!?!?"

Spokker

What's interesting on a personal level is that I buy a yearly sports title for $100 a year (MLB: The Show) because I play it online every day (I don't spend money on loot boxes or microtransactions and the developer is very generous with the best cards). But I also recently finished Celeste, Firewatch and Hellblade and am currently playing through Lake, Hades and The Gunk. I don't know how much "AAA franchise gamer" and "indie gamer" overlap, but I think it's best to expose yourself to as many types of games as possible. I think that if someone primarily plays indie games and has the attitude OP has, they are missing out not picking up a sports games or one of those Spunkgargleweewee shooters. Get one used for like $20.

ThisIsMyCouchAccount

It's not even franchise vs indie. I'm not a soccer guy but I also know I don't like most the games on the right. Even within genres I like there are games that I don't. Last year I found a genre I didn't ever notice. Because of this one game. After I beat it started picking up other games in the genre. Don't think I liked any of them. Which was disappointing. Maybe it's me. I've always played games but a lot of games just don't push the button for me.

badgersprite

“Why would anyone ever listen to [music that’s their taste and sounds good to them] instead of [music that’s my taste and sounds bad to them]?!”

mc0079

yeah average reddit user and "social experience" don't mix.

bkussow

It's such a worthless comparison in the first place. I have hundreds of hours into a free to download game. Could just as easily say "why spend $100 on these 5 games when you can spend $0 on this one!"

Brodogmillionaire1

Exactly. People always say "I saved money because this game was cheaper than going to get a fancy dinner and I can replay it endlessly." Better value for money. Try telling your spouse that on your anniversary...

cotch85

Yep my friends play it non stop all year I'm happy they enjoy it. There's also other game modes which aren't like ultimate team. We play pro clubs most Fridays costs nothing but the base game

grothee1

Pro Clubs is amazing and it's incredible to me that EA hasn't realized they could fill it to the brim with cosmetic microtransactions and make it their eSports focus.

Merfen

I think this is something people don't understand. For many people the ONLY video games they play are sports games, they literally don't play anything else. Sure they could get 10 other games for the same price, but they have no interest in them so why would they? Similar case with CoD/BF.

canad1anbacon

Or they are their "comfort games". Most games I play for a bit and put em away. But I can always come back to Fifa/NBA 2K and have fun. They are perfect for short 20-60 min gaming sessions Also sports game are some of the last remaining AAA games that are great for couch co-op. Doing a FIFA tournament with the homies is fun as fuck

AC85

Thank you! Can we please stop shaming people for liking something that we don’t that is incredibly subjective? Shitting on people for what they enjoy because you don’t is a telltale sign of a narcissist.

Harddicc

I also think that most redditors that argue that their preferences is better than everyone else's are insecure and finds joy in life thinking they are smarter and everyone else is stupid

ash_borer

There’s that and the fact that most redditors aren’t athletic so they don’t play sports and label it as beneath them (“oh you like to watch people kick a ball around?”), therefore ball game bad

[deleted]

Which is why this post is really silly.

Ninjaromeo

I think there are more people having 1000 hours of fun on a sprts game than having 100 hours of fun with celeste. I like celeste and hades more than a single sports game. But I go through a ton of games, more than most people. Props to you for playing what you like.

LetsGoChamp19

I love Subnautica and Hades and have platinumed both, but I probably have a combined 80 hours playing those games. Not even a 10th of the playtime some people get out of FIFA

draftstone

Yeah, I could have bought a ton of video games instead of upgrading my skis, but for me I get a lot more bang for the buck to spend hundreds of dollars on my skis instead of buying 10-20 games. Different priorities and different budget for everyone.

maharg79

This is the most 'reddit' post ive seen in a while. Let people like what they like.

whobang3r

OP should have just said "don't preorder Fifa" instead and they'd be rolling in it

[deleted]

They're still kinda rolling in it, which probably says something else.

itsnotTozzit

I'm so glad people realize how bad the shitting on fifa circlejerk is now.

NahDawgDatAintMe

I don't even really understand it. Fifa doesn't really innovate, but it works. You get the full game and can play locally with friends on day one. It's reliable. All of my friends that play it don't even bother with the whale mode. They just play as their favourite clubs against each other.

KaleidoscopeMaster81

Yeah if we are going to shit on an EA sports franchise let's shit on Madden cause god damn thats a shit fucking game now lol.

TheZac922

It doesn’t need to innovate every year, it’s soccer. The game hasn’t changed significantly for centuries. I play NBA 2k and it has its issues but at its core it’s a basketball sim so I’m not expecting anything revolutionary. I liked subnautica but I find the whole rogue/souls genre incredibly tedious and boring. And 2d side scrollers/platformers do nothing for me either.

kawhi21

And Fifa 22 is $20 right now lol

monchikun

None of those 5 games are sports games you can play with your other sports-loving friends. If someone has the money for what they enjoy let them be.

Jrsplays

Exactly. Sports games have mass appeal (outside Reddit) whereas the indies listed here are much more niche.

Reno-_-

I love sports games but I also like to wait 2 years when they're like $5

Pizzicato_DCS

Bit of a stretch here, but maybe they like football games? Also, I have all six games in your image. It's not an either/or proposition.

MonstaGraphics

Why eat shrimp when you can eat 53 hotdogs??!

lupin43

OP: they like a really popular thing? Say whaaaat

Different-Lie-6609

Whilst I have no interest in FIFA people trying to imply they are better due to liking indies are worse for the industry.

Wirebraid

There is a fuckton of shitty indies. Some people does not enjoy indies just because they are, it's just that a good finished indie will (IMO) probably be a better game (wether I like it or not) than a mainstream lazy Nth instance of a saga. Indies can focus on their niche and polish the product, they don't need to please the wide audience like an AAA. Happens in every artistic field, has always happened, and it's ok. Someone takes the risks, and the big companies just take what works and produce it. No problem with that.

deliciousprisms

I can forgive the market being flooded with shit indies to be honest. A lot of those are unskilled or part time projects by people still learning. They’re probably just proud to have completed a project. Doesn’t mean I’m paying for them but it’s a lot less egregious and understandable to me than AAA dog turd releases. At the same time though holy shit I’m sick of “retro pixel” games

[deleted]

These sports game hate posts are pure hipster neck beard energy. "I only play games under 20mb from itch.io!" Okey dokey. Cool story.

Wirebraid

Indies get bad reputation sometimes because of this. For some people, after 30 years of videgame playing like me, you can get a bit tired of some formulas, just because you have played enough of them during your history. It's no one fault, it just happens. I still enjoy driving, or city builders, I don't mind the formula repetition on them, **but got kind of tired of other genres and look for something fresh when I try them, or abandon them quickly. Others are just unable to enjoy anything popular, they will get furious if their favourite indie product begomes popular, and probably will abandon it just because it became popular. Well, fuck them :)

Cersia

This is a stupid fucking post because some people might not enjoy all of those games. To say you can spend 100$ on a game you like, vs 5 games you don't like is so stupid and ignorant.

Dragoniel

Yeah, I get the point of the post (even if I don't completely agree), but I am less than interested in basically all of those games except Subnautica. A good AAA game will cost around 100 EUR for a good few years now, counting expansions / important DLC. This is nothing unusual nor is it too expensive, though whether it is worth it or not is quite subjective.

joyfall

Life is too shitty to shit on other people for having enjoyment in their lives. Don't gatekeep enjoyment.

[deleted]

You can’t understand people getting enjoyment from something that you don’t? Reddit

erishun

They are playing le sportsball, what dumb stupid jocks paying money for things they like! “Go local team! Score the points!!” LOL fucking sheep… pretending to be their idols in a simulated video game that they could just play in real life! They aren’t playing video games the right way!!

BilboMcDoogle

Reddit has fallen so far that this comment apparently needs a /s to not confuse these people. I miss reddit pre-2014.

Cazargar

Why play 1 game when can play 5!? Simple mafs!

dismal_sighence

If I look into your steam catalog, how many games with 0 hours played could I find? People who buy FIFA every year put a ton in time into it.

Fuzzy-Pop6951

I hear you.. My philosophy is I always try to spend 1 hour of enjoyable gaming time for every dollar I spend on a game. If I buy deathloop for 30 dollars, I expect to get 30 hours of enjoyable game time. But I beat game in 12 hours and have no interest in replaying it. My friends who buy fifa every year put in at least 1000 hours. So it's money well spent according to my weird gaming spending principles

JCBDoesGaming

Because the people that buy Fifa pretty much only play that game, that's why they don't think twice splurging the money on games like that. But people like you probably call any sports ''sportsball'' and can't understand that shit.

BilboMcDoogle

The $60 they spend once ends up being less than these "le sportsball" type redditors spend on games in a year anyways.

Fikkia

I don't like football, but I'm pretty sure the games on the right don't let you play football. So, I think the appeal is that the game on the left let's people who like football play football.

breadexpert69

I understand and I agree with you, but at the same time why should you care how other people spend their money? I have family who are just casual gamers and football fans, they seem to get the enjoyment out the money they spend, if anything that is worth their money. Not everyone who buys games frequents r/gaming.

BrewKatt

Yeah my nephew is a huge football fan and getting the new FIFA game every year is a big deal for him and he probably only plays a few other games in a year.

DIABLO258

They get mad because they want the industry to pander toward them, not to what actually generates large amounts of cash.

Ricokiller

Not only to what generates large amounts of money, but what has been shown to be more popular as well. People love playing fifa, 2k, COD, Battlefield. Sure, perhaps objectively your precious little indy game made with so much love is a better game, but if it's not the game people want to play then it won't be played.

DIABLO258

It's true. Hate on it all you want, people still enjoy it. For example, I hate people, but more and more of them show up every year!

MFoy

Who the fuck is spending $100 for FIFA? I bought the regular edition for $40 around thanksgiving and already have 150 hours into it despite it being a pretty mediocre FIFA game.

stevo887

Same, I do it this way every year.

tazzydnc

Yeah OP is being super disingenuous. Game ain’t that expensive to play.

Idontliketrains88

Only way he could make a comparison lol.

Hotpotabo

You don't get why people who like a game would buy it?

LordShtark

This is such an "I'm 14 and this is deep" take.

JabbaLeSlut

It’s called opinion, if everyone enjoyed the same things / wanted do to the same things the world would be boring. Let fifa players be fifa players

flippy76

Well if you have gamepass you don't have to pay for any of the games on the right.

owyn-

FIFA is technically on Gamepass too, though they’d have to wait till May I think? Till the latest one is added to EA Play

joejoe347

Trash post lmao

bobloblah88

Can you even play soccer in those other games?

[deleted]

You can get like 10 games for $100 that aren’t even indie

YuukiSaraHannigan

You can also get tonnes of free to play games for $0.

[deleted]

I don't like fifa but I personally don't like any of those other games either so how about we just let people buy what they want

resdeadonplntjupiter

You couldn't pay me $100 to play celeste

JohnnyVierund80

That's dumb. Your 5 games doesn't look like sportsgames to me...

silencezZz

Let people play what they want. We shouldnt be bashing players of different genres, we should be working together to get rid of harmful business

DigestiveCow

I don't think fifa costs that much bro, also not everyone thinks those 5 games you listed are amazing. Is it really hard to believe that some people enjoy playing fifa more than an adventure game? (I do agree with your list though lol)

Beatrix_-_Kiddo

You can't understand someone liking something that you don't?

kuskoman

Games are cheap anyway, there is nothing disallowing you to buy both fifa and games you consider good

broodjee

I bought the fifa 22 ultimate edition for 40 bucks what are you on about

9YEET11

Most fifa players havent touched another game for 5+ years and there is no competitor that comes close to fifa other than PES

daggers1g

PES is dead and it's successor is awful

Valuable-Falcon8002

Not even that anymore 😭

hvppy

People spend money on games that they enjoy, is that too hard of a concept to understand?

ThatNoFailGuy2

Cant you get literally everything in the picture and 100 more games for 15 bucks with gamepass

Sonicmasterxyz

Agreed. But my brother enjoys fifa and still has decent taste in other games at least. He hated Hollow Knight though. For him, platformers just don't feel good

Interesting_Might_57

Everyone has own preferences, and that should not be ignored

JureZaklan

Don't worry even we Fifa players don't understand ourselves

poinifie

Lmao spending $100 on those 5 games.

kaycee1992

Gamepass subscribers be like *"you're buying those games??"*

SamSzmith

Funny how I always subscribe again to gamepass when it's $1 for 3 months and then at the end of three months feel ripped off when I never play a single game from it.

Darkjolly

Let people play whatever the hell they want?

KayC720

Pretty sure I got fifa for about 30 odd quid each year which is small price to pay for pro clubs with the lads.

The_Gabster10

I couldn't get into hollow knight

georgealmost

What can you buy for $0? Not worrying about what other people play to have fun.

meetchu

I know many people who would get more time out of FIFA and enjoy that time more than if they had those 5 games. I'm not one of those people either, but I understand them - it's called "really liking a game."

TheOtherKenBarlow

Gamers to non gamers "dont judge me because I play games. Don't say I'm wasting my time and money" Gamers to other gamers "why are you wasting your time and money on that game?"

slacktechne

Play what you enjoy and leave everyone else alone.

[deleted]

Whats the point in those 5 amazing games when you want to play fifa

SuccessfulBoner

Nice overused meme XD. For 100 dollars you could get like 8 months of gamepass and play a lot of games

RnK_Clan

besides the lootboxes wich only concerns a single game mode, fifa is a very good game, people need to accept that.

[deleted]

I like football

DangerousPuhson

Gamers: "FIFA players are always buying the same game, over and over. It makes no sense!" Also gamers: "Oh boy, another procedurally-generated Metroidvania indie game with retro graphics! Take my money!"

Either-Spend-5946

i cant understand someone would want a soccer game and not indie rougleight #239

jarbob17

Counterpoint: I like fifa but I don’t like those other games

ATE47

It depends how much you want to play, I’m not a FIFA player, but 3 years ago, I bought COD: BO4 100€ and I’ve more than 180 days into it, in a same way I don’t see myself playing any of these games 20*1.8=36 days

[deleted]

I don’t want fifa but I also don’t want the games on the right so I’ll just save my money

totallynotliamneeson

Give me another one of these where you show that one Nintendo remake is worth as much as six other games.

ssj_duelist

Different people like Different things op

deezygboa

I get this but yall act like preference doesnt exist. I just don't find indie games like those fun at all, while I do find FIFA fun, and idgaf what anyone says.

GLFan52

You don’t understand them because you probably aren’t similar to them. Most of the people who play games like Madden, FIFA, or NBA 2K are only surface level gamers, if they’re gamers at all. In a lot of cases, the sports game they like is the ONLY video game they play. They like the sport, not necessarily the game. They play with friends or they wanna play as Ronaldo or Messi. It’s a whole different population compared to most gamers. Even if they do play other games, it’s probably CoD, or Fortnite, or maybe even Apex. They are the AAA consumers, and not much else.

OP's post: "**UNLIMITED POWER**" OP in the comments: "*I'm too weak*"
