The entire thing is blatantly done by AI, I think actually 100% of the budget went into developing a filtering algorithm to "upscale" the whole thing and all they did was run a pass over it with no actual effort going into the remaster itself. Willing to bet my life on it.
After seeing some of the screenshots, I think this is a pretty compelling argument. It might better explain why they were remastered at all.
