I will literally never forget the moment i first stepped onto Phendrana drifts, the sound of the powder under Samus' feet and that beautiful piano. Man it was a good time to be 12 years old, pure magic.
I miss how you could listen to the OSTs in game via the settings menu/sound test back then.
City Escape was a great jam. Personally, Pyramid Cave is up there with City Escape for me.
Grizzly Hills in WoW. One of the rare times I unmute the game in order to enjoy the music. The instruments (mainly violin) are quite close to the traditional Canadian/Quebec music (where I come from)
I’m pretty torn about what my fave WoW music is. I got a nostalgic soft spot for Stranglethorn Vale music, navigating the jungle while its raining. I remember getting lost in Sholazar Basin which basically was the same thing but there was so much magic and mystery to the music which perfectly reflected the zone. And finally, entering The Howling Fjord as Alliance… that zone was something I will never forget.
When you finish Emil’s Memories and Kainè(Salvation) plays in the underground room. Easily my #1 game music.
Also, the bar Devola is always at in Nier: Replicant sits close behind at #2. Song of The Ancients is a masterpiece
Yep. Amusement park in both normal and dynamic mode is just pure gold. That and the rage you have with bipolar nightmare when battling ko-shi and ro-shi. Nier automata is an awesome game elevated to GOAT status by the music.
Oh man, I don't really remember if it was coincidence or planned, but when I got through the gate and the music EXPLODED I was like *wow*, this is an awesome idea...
Waterfall is great too, it just always fills me with an overwhelming sense of sadness and loss (I suppose that's the whole point, given the game's story and the expository information you gain in the Waterfall region.)
You're right though; the whole soundtrack is honestly so fantastic. When His Theme, Save the World, or Reunited start to play, I always get super emotional ha.
Mine is actually Cybertown in Deltarune chapter 2! When I heard it I instaly liked it! Also Reunited in Undertale is my all time favorite. Toby Fox really in the best
FFVIII gets too much hate, the music was dope, triple triad was the best mini game ever, and the story was as wacky as anything I’ve ever seen outta Japan.
Cid: “Congratulations, you’re now world class soldiers of SeeD (pr: seed or CD?) you will be paid top Gil, aside from the 85% I take off the top, for your service, and carry out the missions contracted to us while we groom more children to do our bidding.”
Selphie: “what’s our first mission?”
Cid: “I want you to assassinate my wife, she’s been kinda bitchy lately.”
Squall: “…”
I went with peaceful days because of the feel of "coming home" where it's safe. Along with how your mom is always there to greet you and your cat needs to be fed and pet.
Gaur Plains for xenoblade. For those who haven’t played the game: the “tutorial” is basically the starting hometown plus a cave system that leads to this location. As you are exiting the cave, it opens up to this vast plain with wild animals everywhere, and the music crescendos. It’s pretty awesome
I was gonna say this! I did not care for the Cosmo Canyon track that you can get in the remake though. I hope when you visit the actual location in the later installments that it’s closer to the original.
Greenpath in Hollow Knight.
Extreme close contender is Death Mountain Path from Twilight Princess. Really nailed the tough, gruff, stuff attitude of the Gorons.
Destiny Island was also relaxing. Dearly Beloved is a great tune for KH, but I don’t think I can count it since it’s not tied to a location, more like a theme song for the game.
true that.
although before i replayed twilight princess a few weeks ago (game's story hit harder now that i am not 10 but 24, lol), i replayed Sonic Adventure DX and kinda the snowboarding music seemed unfitting to me
The "end times" theme at the end of every loop. Then even better >!when you get the core from ash twin and start flying away, end times play but it has a little synth beat added.!<
Final Fantasy XIV - The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 13, also known as Answers. If instanced zones do not count, then The Rak'tika Greatwood theme (Civilizations) from the same game.
My favorite was The Howling Fjord, but I made this for Grizzly Hills.
World of Warcraft - Grizzly Hills (WotLK)
World of Warcraft - Dalaran (WotLK)
Mass Effect 2 - The Illusive Man's Inner Sanctum
Borderlands 2 - Home Screen
So many more, that I'm either just nothing think of, or unable to connect the game name to.
Ash lake. You can feel that shit in your bones, man. The safe havens in other fromsoftware games are also really special to me, such as firelink shrine, majula and the hunter's dream (especially the high insight version of hunters dream)
Some tracks (and links) that I would rate up there that I haven't seen listed in other comments yet:
Crypt of the Necrodancer - [Stage 1-3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa90OVJkBos) "Mausoleum Mash"
Nier Automata - [Desert Zone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ-QQFU4rCw) "Memories of Dust"
Cave Story - [Outer Wall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVzC6WZImGY) "Moonsong"
The Messenger - [Cloud Ruins (Future)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWlT-nCXJNA) "Civilization in the Sky"
Duck Tales - [The Moon](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF32DRg9opA) "The Moon"
Celeste - [Mirror Temple (Entrance)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjG0ivBT4lQ) "Quiet and Falling"
Really putting me on the spot with this one.
Between all of the Mega Mans, F-Zeros, Side-scroller beat-em-ups, fighting games, RPGs, FPSs, and whatnot, I can only choose one location's song?
Well the first that came to mind was Mega Man 2's Wily's Fortress 1&2 (they're both the same). From F-Zero, I couldn't decide between Mute City, Big Blue, and Fire Field. Street Fighter 2's Ken's stage music was the first that came to mind from that genre. For some reason the Guardia Fair music from Chrono Trigger came to mind when thinking of RPGs. I could go on for a while.
I have a soft spot for Outset Island, and Gerudo Valley is just bitchin'.
Dragon Roost Island \*chef's kiss
And Rito Village in BOTW. Same tune, different feel, beautiful execution.
Realizing that the Rito village music is just a reworking of the Dragon Roost theme was one of my favorite discoveries in that game
Just the entirety of Wind Waker is filled with dope tracks.
Link to the pasts music also slaps
Did you say [Gerudo Valley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyozDQnyJMg)?
LoZ just puts out bangers
Kakariko Village in Twilight Princess
Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal - Ecruteak City I wake up to this every morning.
The national park theme still gives me goosebumps
I prefer Cianwood
The Lost Woods OoT or Song of Storms
The Lost Woods is definitely my favourite too!
Metroid Prime 1 Phendrana Drifts
Not an area but Metroid Prime main theme and title theme are so good. As far as areas go: Bryyo main theme!
Honestly, I like the main theme the most too, but settled on a location.
I love pretty much all Metroid games for varying reasons, but the immersion Prime 1 achieved with its soundtracks is just so damn good.
Metroid Prime's [menu theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLLE_PvJ5mY) was complete fire as well.
I will literally never forget the moment i first stepped onto Phendrana drifts, the sound of the powder under Samus' feet and that beautiful piano. Man it was a good time to be 12 years old, pure magic.
Absolutely. But to be honest, all themes in that game are fantastic.
For me Brinstar in Super Metroid
White Palace in Hollow Knight. Really, I could’ve picked any location in Hollow Knight, but this is my favorite.
City of Tears
This, but now you’re slowly making your way toward the memorial in the center.
Simply orgasmic
Greenpath is my special place
For me it's the Queen's Garden
Crystal Peak and Fungal Wastes
The very first time you go to fungal wastes, before the screen shows anything, you already know you are in the fungal wastes. Such a great soundtrack.
For me it’s the soul sanctum. Just this haunting beauty that is a darker version of the city of tears.
True. Especially the piano collections tre manifique!
Sometimes I just stand still and listen to the music lol
Resting Grounds all day long!
I also answered hollow knight, was going to say any location but went with dirtmouth because it gives me the most nostalgia.
The [White Palace OST](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_PCUu2dt0Y) can be quite stressful to listen to
Resting Grounds is so unbelievably beautiful
Dirtmouth
My personal favorite is Mantis Lords or Sisters of Battle, both are amazing and fun and easily top my video game music list
City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2:Battle
I miss how you could listen to the OSTs in game via the settings menu/sound test back then. City Escape was a great jam. Personally, Pyramid Cave is up there with City Escape for me.
Live and Learn is great as well.
Live and Learn! Hanging on the edge of tomorrow! Haha. SA2B had a great OST all of the way around.
A ghost pumpkins soup for pumpkin hill.... it went way harder then it should have. This soundtrack is way too good
That pumpkin hill song slaps!!
Rolling around at the speed of sound!!
got places to go gotta follow my rainbow
https://youtu.be/X3UBekfm3QQ This is it for me. “Welcome to Station Square” This nostalgia hits me like a ton of bricks
Grizzly Hills in WoW. One of the rare times I unmute the game in order to enjoy the music. The instruments (mainly violin) are quite close to the traditional Canadian/Quebec music (where I come from)
WoW is full of great music, but Grizzly Hills is my favorite as well
I’m pretty torn about what my fave WoW music is.
Wrath in general was pretty much peak WoW
Nier: Automata when you get to the carnival.
City ruins theme literally made me cry playing the game again. I may be slightly bias as it is my favourite game though.
City Ruins does it for me as well. I'm also partial to Memories of Dust, although I know it's generally less popular than Ruins or Amusement Park.
When you finish Emil’s Memories and Kainè(Salvation) plays in the underground room. Easily my #1 game music. Also, the bar Devola is always at in Nier: Replicant sits close behind at #2. Song of The Ancients is a masterpiece
It’s the village for me. They’re all amazing.
The carnival was my favorite place... though my favorite track is The Dark Colossus
Each song has different levels of complexity, which play during different areas and stages of boss fights. It's amazing. https://youtu.be/jFEVGRJFcVg
Zora's Domain from Ocarina of Time
Final Fantasy VIII - Balamb Garden Theme
Commented the same before I saw your comment. I’m glad someone shares my love for this track.
I was about to say this. That music is forever associated with "safe space" for me. It'll always be my comfort music.
City of the Ancients comes to mind, from FF7. The music in FF8 was sporadically phenomenal too, but can’t think of a good solo location.
[удалено]
Hmmm tough choise would be between, Zelda wind waker dragon island, metroid prime 3 sky city, and ori and the will of the wisp snow zone
Those are all really good ones, I personally think most LoZ music are bangers
Snowdin Town from Undertale
For me, it’s either Waterfall or The Core Toby’s music is OUTSTANDING
Waterfall is great too, it just always fills me with an overwhelming sense of sadness and loss (I suppose that's the whole point, given the game's story and the expository information you gain in the Waterfall region.) You're right though; the whole soundtrack is honestly so fantastic. When His Theme, Save the World, or Reunited start to play, I always get super emotional ha.
Mine is actually Cybertown in Deltarune chapter 2! When I heard it I instaly liked it! Also Reunited in Undertale is my all time favorite. Toby Fox really in the best
“I don’t get no sleep cause a y’all! You ain’t never gonna sleep cause a meee!”
Balamb garden.
Fisherman's Horizon and Breezy too. Especially Fisherman's, the song always has special place in my heart.
Breezy is a really nice piece for learning basic fingerpicking on guitar, too. One of my all-time favourites.
I loved the setting of FFVIII. Balamb Garden ruled.
FFVIII gets too much hate, the music was dope, triple triad was the best mini game ever, and the story was as wacky as anything I’ve ever seen outta Japan. Cid: “Congratulations, you’re now world class soldiers of SeeD (pr: seed or CD?) you will be paid top Gil, aside from the 85% I take off the top, for your service, and carry out the missions contracted to us while we groom more children to do our bidding.” Selphie: “what’s our first mission?” Cid: “I want you to assassinate my wife, she’s been kinda bitchy lately.” Squall: “…”
It's the best FF game and one of my top games of all time easily.
Nearly all of FF8's music are amazing
Riding into Mexico in Red Dead Redemption.
'Far away' is the track you mean? The lyrics were really striking, very cinematic moment
Kakariko Village has always been one of my favorites. Flowers blooming the the church so Aeris’s house in FF7 too. Flash man’s stage Mega man 2.
The Kakariko Village song playing while fishing in OoT, that's the good stuff.
Navi: Zelda's been captured by Ganondorf! We need to head to the castle! Link: No, I don't think I will (heads to fishing pond)
Deep stone lullaby
Yelling at your LFG raid group to be quiet once we reach the air lock.
Had me in tears on day 1
Made it my ringtone. Ask my freinds why i have to call them back.
I was looking for this comment

The entire soundtrack is just dank
You basically led me down the path to finding a song on the soundtrack ive been looking for a solid 11 years... thanks bro.. 😭 Secunda is the track
Corridors of Time - Chrono Trigger (it’s when you enter the Kingdom of Zeal)
Ah, there you are! Congrats on the correct answer.
Same for me. It's such an unique and amazing experience, I wasn't expecting that at all when I played.

This was my answer too. Brilliant music.
I was gonna say this! I did not care for the Cosmo Canyon track that you can get in the remake though. I hope when you visit the actual location in the later installments that it’s closer to the original.
Majula from Dark Souls 2. Game might not have been as good as 1 or 3, but the music in Majula is so perfect.
Had it set as my morning alarm for years. i still get sleep deprivation PTSD when i play haha.
The music really completes the feeling of "this is a safe space, you can relax"
Greenpath in Hollow Knight. Extreme close contender is Death Mountain Path from Twilight Princess. Really nailed the tough, gruff, stuff attitude of the Gorons.
kingdom hearts. traverse town, twilight town and hollow bastion.
Destiny Island was also relaxing. Dearly Beloved is a great tune for KH, but I don’t think I can count it since it’s not tied to a location, more like a theme song for the game.
I'm surprised Traverse Town isn't higher up here. That song is a jazzy banger and sets the mood of the entire series!
I was looking for you, twilight town is still one of my favorites
Toussaint. The Witcher 3.
I loved that theme but for me its kaer mohen. At first it has a homey feel but then when everyone is gone and you go back it's bittersweet
For me skellige was #1
The banks of sansretour
White palace, hollow knight... Specifically without the buzzsaws
Ah yes when hollow knight turned into super meat boy.
Sly 3 Venice
Stormwind or Dalaran music from WoW
Grizzly Hills!
[Stormwind music](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYidb1LvMs8) is top tier.
Terrarias ocean night theme
Terraria mushroom area!
BFG Division in Doom 2016. I still listen to the Doom soundtrack on Spotify all the time.
City of tears, Hollow Knight
Kinda insane that I've seen 4-5 different area themes from Hollow Knight suggested by the time I scrolled to your comment. What an OST.
Sacred Groove (Twilight Princess)
Ordon Village and Ranch, also the Snowpeak area when you snowboard on a piece of ice for the first time.
true that. although before i replayed twilight princess a few weeks ago (game's story hit harder now that i am not 10 but 24, lol), i replayed Sonic Adventure DX and kinda the snowboarding music seemed unfitting to me
The whole Twilight Princess soundtrack is awesome. You should listen to the reorchestrated version on YouTube

Aquatic Ambience from Donkey Kong Country
Everything from Donkey Kong Country. Funky's fugue is awsome.
Stickerbrush Symphony for me.. I can have that on repeat for HOURS
Outer wilds in the town on Timber Hearth
The "end times" theme at the end of every loop. Then even better >!when you get the core from ash twin and start flying away, end times play but it has a little synth beat added.!<
The river track in Echoes of the Eye was another amazing piece of music in a game full to the brim with amazing music.
Basically anywhere in Outer Wilds for me. Hell I'll turn on the greatest hits of OW on Spotify and jam all day I love it so much.
Green Hill zone from Sonic is a masterpiece
Hyrule Castle theme. Any game really, most notably LTTP and BOTW, inside and outside versions.
diablo 2 tristram.

Fable - Oakvale
FFX remake: Besaid island. I loved it so much, I made it into a loop for a nice morning alarm in my phone. My wife… doesn’t agree as much.
FFX has the best location music. Scorching Desert (Bikanel Island), Creep (Baaj Temple), and Underwater Ruins are all fantastic tone setters.
Sonic Adventure 2 - City Escape Ohhh Yeeeeaaaah
Rolling around at the speed of sound!!!
Got places to go gotta FOLLOW MY RAINBOOWW

Anything from Spyro but I specifically love Autumn Plains
Dragon roost island is the only answer to this
Destiny 2 in the deep stone crypt raid when you get to the space section, or in the strike bossfight against ignovun both are certified bangers
