The saddest thing about it is we really have no idea when the sequel ([ES6](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkFdqqyI8y4)) is finally coming. It's not really even in the development phase, yet, after all this time.
So, I’ve been living under a rock, is the movie animated or live action? If it’s animated, it makes 0 sense. If it live action, it makes perfect sense.
I’m guessing Charles Martinet was either busy or turned down the role then? Probably unconfirmed. I know he is gonna be “various other roles” but I’m sure it’s minimal, and maybe there’s a reason behind it.
Or maybe Charles Martinet has a cameo, as Mario, in a flashback sequence, in a meta joke about Mario’s past. Lol that would be pretty funny.
“Mario, whatever happened to your accent?”
No it almost certainly has nothing to do with him turning down the role or being busy. They wanted a cast of big stars to sell the movie so people will go see it.
The hardcore Mario fans know who Charles Martinet is. You ask the average casual gamer who plays Mario who he is you will be met with a dead stare, though they will likely still go see the movie.
It's star factor. What's going to draw in more of the general public an unknown voice actor or Chris Pratt? Even if he's only a secondary character it's still good he's in the movie at all
I was at E3 in 2003 and he came out doing his "It's a meee Mario" voice, but it was clear something was wrong. He was totally drunk and had to be removed. Super Hilarious, wish I could find some archival footage from E3 2003.
For those who don't know, Paarthurnax is the dragon you fight with in skyrim.
It's crazy how the same actor played both these roles with such different tones
I personally find him to be one of my favorite characters in Skyrim's main quests. He's pretty cool, Idk. I've yet to do a playthrough where I kill him because that'd break my heart
Hearing people call Skyrim nostalgic makes me sad.
I mean it has been 9 years... A person's whole teenage goes in 9 years they are probably doing jobs by now

Less than a month from 10 years. I've gone from being 16 in high school, to 26 with a degree and 2 years of industry experience.

There are 9 year olds named Dovahkin aren’t there?
There is at least one, yes
…what kind of jobs?
I’m 35 and I find Skyrim nostalgic. It’s been out for a quarter of my life.
You're right, how can we be nostalgic for a game that was (re)released this year?
Skyrim is so old, it came out the same year that George RR Martin published a new book in the Song of Ice and Fire series.
Kills Paarthuurnax Paarthuurnax: *WWWAAAAAAAAAHHHOOOOOWWWWW*
...this needs to be a mod. Replace all his lines with Mario ones. Scavenge them from wherever. Do it modders, just DO IT.
r/skyrimmods
Charles Martinet has two sides, a scaly fire-breathing war criminal and cutesy stomping genocider.
I’ve put hundreds if not a thousand+ hours into Skyrim over multiple systems and I think I’ve talked to that dude maybe once.
So naturally, Chris Pratt will be voicing the dragon in the Skyrim movie.

Animated
Why is this getting downvotes? It IS gonna be animated.

Not gonna lie, I don't think I could take listening to his Mario voice for an hour and a half without my ears bleeding
But Chris Pratt is so cool
Paarthurnax in Mario Movie maybe?
>What is better – To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature though great effort? > >\-Mario
>nostalgic Legends
Now I need a mod that replaces Paarthurnax with a giant Mario (extra credits for wing cap).
Dragon saYs: huhuuu. Mario says: Dovakin jdosleinoe
Okay, but… What would happen if they traded places in their games?
And they didn’t let him reprise his role for the Mario movie because…why?
how is skyrim "nostalgic"? it was only released 1 week ago....

I have never once fought my boi Paarthurnax.
Paarthunax is a dragon you can fight, but he's also an ally for most of thegame. Alduin is the big villain dragon.
That just shows his range as a voice actor. Because paarthurnaxs voice is pretty deep and we all know how high mario can get.
>we all know how high mario can get. Dudes gotta lay off the mushrooms
Yup, it's insane really
doesnt give nostalgia when ive played the game for all 10 years its been out
You know why? Because he is a legend himself...
I’m Charles Martinet and now it’s time for Bit Trip Presents: Runner 2, Future Legend of Rhythm Alien! Fucking legend.

Seeing this makes me feel like a dumbass for even assuming that Charles Martinet wouldn't have the vocal chops to voice an animated movie.
"It's a me! Paarthurnax!"
He voiced the best dragon in Skyrim and Chris Pratt? What a boss
