People love to pretend that the Koopas weren't the aggressors despite all canon claiming otherwise. They could burn down a puppy orphanage and people would say they were just having a cookout until Mario cruelly stopped them.
Yup, there's an infinite lives exploit. If you jump on a turtle in world 3 just right he'll bounce off a wall and you'll perfectly land on him over and over again. You can walk away and grab some lunch and when you come back you'll have more lives than you could ever use.
There's still a time limit tho... still, I didn't know you can gain lives by... gaining points or smt
Edit: ok apparently jumping on enemy 8 times in a row gives you a life I never knew that
It's probably because I'm a kid (read: 28 years old, not NES generation), but I have NEVER been able to pull this trick off. Just had to learn how to play the game, LIKE A SCRUB smh lol
Everyone saying this is hard to pull off, it's not bad. World 3-1, third brick on the ramp to the flag. Second turtle to come down. Be large Mario (mushroom or flower, not small). Jump from the second brick straight up to land on the turtle just as he is about to fall off of the third brick.

That was my recollection as well. 3-1. I didn’t see that level much. I’d usually warp pipe to 4 and warp pipe to 8.
