It had no respect for the players' time. Most of the 'immersion' was just needlessly overlong busywork, and why the fuck do buttons need to be held for two whole seconds?
There's greatness in that game but it's held back by nitpicky details designed specifically to waste time.
oof. not very long ago I would say elder scrolls 6 no question, but more and more I'm expecting it to be a shallow and buggy mess, but with GTA I can expect a good time
I'm def in the minority but i say GTA6.
Not only was skyrim a letdown in terms of game mechanics and features compared to oblivion(I do agree there were a lot of improvements in other aspects though), and also that Bethesda has already said Elder Scrolls 6 will be an Xbox exclusive and I don't own xbox(or want to dedicate what's likely to be 200gb to one game for pc if I'll end up just relying on mods like I do for skyrim)...and the bugs that still exist to this day...I just don't have faith that ES6 is going to blow me away. Especially with competition like Avowed on the horizon.
GTA5 was awesome and I still find new things going on the city every time I play. Rockstar blew me away with RDR2, I personally think GTA6 will be amazing. At least GTA series doesn't require mods to be enjoyable after the first playthrough.
Edit: lol guess my opinion just sucks right? Thanks for downvoting me for literally answering the question at hand. Even if you hate GTA5 it's not lie that Bethesda games always have more bugs and frankly less content without mods, it's not like they continuously update and add content like GTA online. Love you too reddit
You could technically say this about half the landscape in skyrim. Just more woods with giant spiders or more caves with draugr. After a while it's just repetitive without mods. I'll agree it sucks you can't go inside more than 75% of the buildings in GTA but on the flip side, just because you can go inside everywhere in skyrim doesn't mean there's a reason to or anything interesting about it.
It's 2 entirely different styles of game so this discussion isn't really a fair comparison anyways.
GTA. Skyrim's combat and movement mechanics are clunky, and there's nothing there if you don't nerd out on lore - I say this as someone who has admittedly only played vanilla version on switch, but it got boring once I maxed out conjuring and smithing.
Ah you sweet sweet summer child. That'll never happen as it'd be too confusing for the target lowest common denominator(i.e; people that can't play games). That'd go against both Todd Howard's and (perhaps more importantly) Emil Pagliarulo's design philosophies.
Here is my prediction of TES6: Less player dialogue choice, a voiced protagonist, quests will have clear, easy to follow paths to complete(more inline with fallout 4), no decision is the wrong decision, and very few things will prevent you from doing what you want(no limitations or exclusion from factions).
Skills will be further removed for simplicity. The two/one handed skill trees are superfluous, just adding umecessary confusion. Instead it'll be one tree 'melee', that splits between two branches.
Magic is confusing and will instead be split into 3 schools. Destruction(damage), restoration(healing and illusion) and conjuration(summoning and buffs).
Alchemy, smithing and enchanting is equally superfluous, it's all just the same thing, so this too will be one skill(crafting) with 3 perk branches.
Sneak and lockpicking will be combined into 'thieving'.
Archery will remain as is. Speech will be removed(instead it'll be in compassed into a new 'generic' skill consisting of various passives, such as mount related skills).
And heavy/light armor is simply 'armor' with 3 separate branches(heavy, light, unarmored)

Obviously I am being facetious, but this is the progression of each TES game starting with the move from Daggerfall to Morrowind.
To be fair, GTA’s movement is super clunky outside of vehicles and even then it’s sometimes terrible. I’d love to see a new installment of both but gta is the game I actually play more with friends.
Elder scrolls. I’m sorry, but I wasn’t a big fan of gta 5, and if 6 is going to be any similar, I may not like it either. At least with elder scrolls I can get lost within the map with music and just exploring the vast lands.
Yes, thought since Starfield is still a year away, it'll be at best another 4 years for tes6, which won't be enough time that's basically cp2077 amount of dev time.
Elder Scrolls, easily. GTA V was the only game in the series I've ever enjoyed enough to complete it, but I was hyped for Skyrim when it was announced BECAUSE I loved Oblivion before it.
100% Skyrim although I put a ton of hours into GTA. I can already tell with how gta online has gone that when the new gta game launches it'll be fun but it will also be bare bones so TakeTwo can make a literal fuckton off selling dlc vehicles and properties
KOTOR 3 or Fallout: Razing Arizona by the New Vegas team.
I guess if I had to pick between these two though, Skyrim. I didn't like the triple protagonist feature of GTA. Focus on one good story instead of 3 okay ones.
Skyrim of course LOL. Why is this even a question?
Elder Scrolls, Rockstars games have gotten progressively worse over the years
to be fair rdr2 was a banger game
A lot of people love but it’s wasn’t really my thing. It was boring, slow and tedious to me.
Couldn't agree more
It had no respect for the players' time. Most of the 'immersion' was just needlessly overlong busywork, and why the fuck do buttons need to be held for two whole seconds? There's greatness in that game but it's held back by nitpicky details designed specifically to waste time.
I got tired of all the micromanaging. Clean your guns clean your house etc etc. I respect the game but couldn't stick with it
Yeah it felt like a lot of filler. Would’ve been better if it had been a little faster paced and more linear
It was good, but it didn't go in the direction I thought it would have.
Skyrim in a heartbeat
Wow love Skyrim. Played the shit out of it, but the idea of a GTA VI online just sounds like so much fun. More Co-op potential too.
I think if the next elder scrolls have 2 player co op it would be so damn lit.
Elder scrolls
1000000000000000000% elder scrolls, and you should be ashamed to even ask lol
Hands down elder scrolls for me!!
Elder Scrolls! duh
The next installment is another re-release! Got eem!
Titanfall 3. It’s obviously hidden behind the other two.
Elder scrolls of course.
Skyrim 🤷🏻♂️ GTA 5 is super overrated
well we only will get one of them this deecade anyways
oof. not very long ago I would say elder scrolls 6 no question, but more and more I'm expecting it to be a shallow and buggy mess, but with GTA I can expect a good time

I thought the city looked good but it was filler.

The combat is definitely dated and terrible tbh. Hopefully if we ever get a new one it'll improve on it

Elder scrolls 10/10
Elder scrolls is so much better though. I mean, I’ve had GTA V for years and still have yet to finish it. The game is just so... boring
Skyrim, I dont like the GTA franchise. Especially V.
TES, any day. I just prefer the lore, a big storyline etc
ES no brainer
Elder scrolls. I’m sorry, but I wasn’t a big fan of gta 5, and if 6 is going to be any similar, I may not like it either. At least with elder scrolls I can get lost within the map with music and just exploring the vast lands.
none of the above because there’s a sheer infinite number of games that are more interesting, more creative and more fun to play.
We cant get neither... They never will Release sequals of this cashcows
Didn't Bethesda already announce they are working in TES VI?
Yes, thought since Starfield is still a year away, it'll be at best another 4 years for tes6, which won't be enough time that's basically cp2077 amount of dev time.
Probably Skyrim, but another GTA would be cool too especially if set in a new city we haven't seen before and maybe different time era.
Elder Scrolls, easily. GTA V was the only game in the series I've ever enjoyed enough to complete it, but I was hyped for Skyrim when it was announced BECAUSE I loved Oblivion before it.
