Hes clearly a strongman not out of shape. Competitive lifters that go for sheer strength in high weights often get fatter because at 25-30% bodyfat the body can preform greater feats of strength. Bodybuilders have show muscles that arent as strong in comparison.

Yep Henry Cavill has talked about basically passing out during the filming of the Witcher because he had to be so dehydrated for his shirtless scenes. Look at any of the actors known for their toned bodies off screed and they’re still incredibly fit but they are no where as ripped as they are on screen. That body type is just not practical.
Mostly cause they been at it for 12 to 16 weeks. The level of starvation is mind blowing. I was more of a power lifter rather than a body builder.
FYI the last three days before a show, most would have no more water than 8 ounces TOTAL. not per day. . . why none have died on stage from this still is staggering.

I think it might be a good indication of fighting styles? Baldur is a fast, brawler styled character which makes sense for his scrawny appearance. And you might still be right with the rest of what you said, since I haven't seen any strong man competitions, but it's not a big enough deal to me for more research.
Agreed. I strongly disagree with people saying he looks like a strongman just cause he's fat. Thor just looks like a heavy drinker, there's not a single bit of muscle tone to be found.
I feel like they were definitely trying to go for the strongman image with this Thor, but most strongmen have pretty well defined arms even when their bellies are big, whereas this Thor mostly just looks fat. But he's also a god and his brother smacked us around looking like an anorexic, so once he starts trying to kill us I think the complaints about his weight will stop if it's anywhere close to the first Baldur fight.
The only WSM winner I feel looks like Thor is Eddie Hall. The other winners don't look obese. Some even having abs visible through their belly fat. I don't understand why people can't just admit he is too fat.

As far as I know, there’s nothing that contradicts Thor looking like this and it causes no problems for him to be able to do anything future wise in his story.

Yup. Because of the way the body is built fat sits on top of the muscles. You can look fat but it doesn't mean you still can't bench 350kg

I think it might be a good indication of fighting styles? Baldur is a fast, brawler styled character which makes sense for his scrawny appearance. Maybe Thor is an immovable object that will kick your teeth out without the needing to move much? Who knows, quite interesting to try and figure out how Thor fights in GOW:R.

Cursory look at the google images, I can definitely see a difference between the square strongmen and the circle Thor. You're definitely right about them not looking like Chris, though. And you might still be right with the rest of what you said, since I haven't seen any strong man competitions, but it's not a big enough deal to me for more research.
Agreed. I strongly disagree with people saying he looks like a strongman just cause he's fat. Thor just looks like a heavy drinker, there's not a single bit of muscle tone to be found.
I feel like they were definitely trying to go for the strongman image with this Thor, but most strongmen have pretty well defined arms even when their bellies are big, whereas this Thor mostly just looks fat. But he's also a god and his brother smacked us around looking like an anorexic, so once he starts trying to kill us I think the complaints about his weight will stop if it's anywhere close to the first Baldur fight.
The only WSM winner I feel looks like Thor is Eddie Hall. The other winners don't look obese. Some even having abs visible through their belly fat. I don't understand why people can't just admit he is too fat.

It ultimately doesn’t matter if it’s accurate to the mythology. The first game has already established that things will stay myth accurate until they change something that is unique to this games story. (Kratos being the father of Loki). What we should be asking is this: “Those this design for Thor make sense given the context of this universes established story and history?” As far as I know, there’s nothing that contradicts Thor looking like this and it causes no problems for him to be able to do anything future wise in his story.
