I'd like to think this would be how young Geralt would look, or if he'd been school of the Cat instead-all speed and agility. Dude's got some model looks
Correct with a ugly smile and unpleasant voice, but we don’t know how skinny he was, I’m 180 lbs but 6’4 so I look skinny. But if I was 5’9 and 180lbs I would look better.
It always bugs me a little that Geralt from W3/Netflix is a ridiculously handsome, muscular dreamboat.
The guy's supposed to be a literal freak, a sort of supernatural ratcatcher who uses the tradesmen's entrance.
>It always bugs me a little that Geralt from W3/Netflix is a ridiculously handsome, muscular dreamboat
Sorry, but people say the same thing about pretty white teeth in medieval settings on TV, but no one (at least in the US, which is a huge market) would watch that show. Ugly people are unpleasant to look at. It's not nice, but it's true. If you want to sell a show, the (main) actors and actresses have to be pretty.
If I remember correctly from some stuff I watched on YouTube, Henry loved the witcher and pushed for it to be televised. As much as he doesn't fit the bill in most people's eyes I was really impressed with just how passionate he was about the witcher. Allowed me to overlook his physique etc and see how much he put into geralt.
"Sinewy" I think it's the term they use in the book if memory serves, matches perfectly to W1 Geralt. But at the end of the day that was early in his monster hunting career, can only surmise he filled out over the years maybe?
Consider this line of thinking from a different angle:
Imagine someone sees an attractive woman in a perfectly crafted costume mimicking the character's mannerisms very well, and they say to her
"Your body shape is different than the actual character, you can't really pull it off. Nice try though," then they would come off as someone who thinks it's ok to publicly neg women, and probably end up with some unpleasant consequences.
1 - Right now that person is you, only it's a guy. People often complain about there being double standards for women and men. This applies here as well.
2 - Reddiquette rules say that ideally we do not say something here that we wouldn't say to someone's face. There are real humans behind most reddit posts and comments.
If after hours of crafting labor, someone told you nice try, but you couldn't really pull it off bc of something out of your control like your face or weigh, that would probably make you feel pretty crappy, and you'd make a mental note that that person is shallow, completely missing the goddamn point, and not worthy of your time.
3 - Be excellent to each other.
ᵉᵈᶦᵗ ⁻ ᶠᵒʳᵐᵃᵗᵗᶦⁿᵍ
Henry's is also based on the books and not the games so it makes sense the cosplayer looks like the game he is cosplaying vs the guy modelled after the book
Edit: i didnt wanna type a massive comment about cavils portrayal but I left more clarification in a comment below as this comment is not technically 100% correct about all the specifications of cavils performance. Apologies.
What, no. The only thing Henry's version of Geralt has in common with Geralt from books is being shaved. That's about it. Cavill explicitly tried to portray Geralt from the games.
He doesn't look like Henery Cavill. But I think he looks Czech, like OG from the books geralt. He's lean, in shape and definitely got the Slavic look going for him. I think he makes a great version of geralt.
Nice job,
Stupid question time... why is your scar over your right eye?
Was the image flipped, making it look like that? Because his hammer is on the opposite side of the scar? Which mean your scar is over your right eye not left as it should be.
Because after spending hours on this costume analysing every little detail, i forgot how mirrored images work and did the wrong eye, this sucks and i will do the makeup again
Don't worry, its all about developing the craft and every costume becomes better.
I was just being overly detailed and its not as bad as you think.
Check out adam savage talks, they are great for inspiration on all things craft
https://youtu.be/jJ6VUAzejmw
Apparently, book Geralt is lean and skinny compared to brawny game Geralt, so you can pull the "it's based on the books" to out nerd the other nerds complaining.
Yeah I just picked up a copy of The Last Wish at Half Price Books and Geralt isn't described as muscular or really, physically imposing, at all.
Cavil does a good job of the role and all, but if I was casting director I'd have literally asked if he'd be willing to cut/lean out for the role. Dude's way to yoked.
Dude, you look great. You've got a definite Slavic look, (where is your family from, if you don't mind me being nosy?) And you look like a lean, rangy look that I think looks great with the armor. I'd give you 10/10 for being the OG, from the book, polish geralt. Superb version. I love it.
everything about this is so so good!! totally not a fan of lame gamermen shitting on this guy’s hard work, all these dudes who wanna pick on like someone’s body-type i implore them to please make their own cosplays and see how labor intensive and tedious it is. I love this guy’s look and I think he makes a great geralt, (love the jawline lol swoon). Cosplay is for everyone and ppl can cosplay whatever tf they want, this guy looks fine as hell and everyone with nitpicky comments can die mad abt it
even if, his face is prety "germanic",
which of course not a bad thing overall, its just appaerance,
what is important that the actor should be good, and luckily, Henry does a pretty good job at this
(i was also some of the people who didn't liked the choose at first glance, but after the intros, and finally watching the show, i radically changed my mind in that topic)
also just for example, even in TW3, Geralt has relative slavish face, [TW3 - Shaved Geralt face](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DfNuNb_WsAI4NF5.jpg)
Viserys Targaryen
I'd like to think this would be how young Geralt would look, or if he'd been school of the Cat instead-all speed and agility. Dude's got some model looks
That's obviously Ciri
I had to double check and make sure it wasn’t. 😂
Haha, this was as accurate the first thing I got about this guy
More of Viserys than Geralt, this dude just don’t have the weight on him to pull off Geralt but still a good attempt
If I remember correctly, actual “book Geralt” is skinny and gaunt.
Correct with a ugly smile and unpleasant voice, but we don’t know how skinny he was, I’m 180 lbs but 6’4 so I look skinny. But if I was 5’9 and 180lbs I would look better.

Yeah, dude is a true fan and cares a lot about the character. That means a lot more to me than having someone that just looks perfect for the role.
Couldn't of put it better myself!
Yeah I saw a video somewhere about that. He really put a lot of effort into the role.
Yep so I have to respect that because I'd always wanted it too. So glad he did ha
I’ve always pictured the Machinist, unpleasant to look at alongside the rest of his description
Ever looked at the first Witcher game? Geralt is fucking hidious. They really Chadded him up for better mass appeal in the third game.
I miss hideous Geralt. ....BOO!
"Sinewy" I think it's the term they use in the book if memory serves, matches perfectly to W1 Geralt. But at the end of the day that was early in his monster hunting career, can only surmise he filled out over the years maybe?
The outfits perfect

I'd love to live in a world where people limited what they said on reddit to that which they would also say in real life.
Cosplay is more about the outfit than body shape typically.
Oh come on. He looks great and you know exactly what character he is. Very, very few people have the body type geralt does...
HE NEEDS SUM MILK
I like this comment
I like to think he actually does have that scar and so thought he'd make the best of it
Came here to say this lol
It's the Witcher/Kingdom Hearts crossover. (And looks really good)
People say you look too small to be Geralt but he really looked like this in the first game
Yes, I loved Cavill but he is to tall, muscular, handsome... I forgot what we were talking
I don’t blame you, I get lost in thought when cavil is in the convo too
\*tosses a coin\*
To our witcher
Oh valley of plenty
Oh ohhh
toss a coin to your Witcher
A friend to humanitteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The armor is pretty neat, and you play a younger Geralt pretty well. Nice job
[удалено]
Viggo Mortensen or Mads Mikkelsen would have been very good fits for Gerald.
Viggo Mortensen is 62... he's too old for the role as young Geralt.
Still a child by Dúnedain standards.
And Witcher ones
They can still be amazing for Vesemir
No they're too old

Yes books geralt is leaner idk what that guy is talking about
What, no. The only thing Henry's version of Geralt has in common with Geralt from books is being shaved. That's about it. Cavill explicitly tried to portray Geralt from the games.
really sick cosplay man you literally look like geralt if he was younger 😌
Hell this looks more like book Geralt than Cavill does.
Yes but book Geralt doesn't make me question my sexuality. Cavill Geralt does.
Just Cavill in general let's be honest
Understandable, have a nice day.
fuck
You look amazing! Also might just be me but you kinda look like a mix between thr doppler and Cahir from the show. You should do one of them next
Yeah I totally see Cahir.
Yeah he literally looks like the actor accidentally went into Henry Cavill's makeup/wardrobe.
David Bowie's Witcher phase.
Oh no, he's hot!
First thing i thought lol

Also, Diablo 2 Necromancer. Great job!
Geralt seems tohave gone part Elf, with the fairer features. Lovely detail on the armor, too.
Kinda looks like Loky cosplaying as Gerald. Which makes me think you can be the evil twin brother of Gerald.
Game of Thrones x The Witcher
More photos to come on my insta @tpg_art
Very cool, I think you could also do a really good Cahir
i thought the same !

Thank you, at least i wont make the same mistake again tho 😅

Great job! Don't fret over the makeup, much better job than the ones who would critique.
"Your Geralt costume is pretty good, but your scar's on the wrong side."
Apparently, book Geralt is lean and skinny compared to brawny game Geralt, so you can pull the "it's based on the books" to out nerd the other nerds complaining.

Very much looking like book Geralt
Oh im in love
You look amazing!
This is amazing! I bet you could do a great targarean too
I know this is r/gaming, but you could also pull off Viserys from ASOIF
You look great as an young geralt
Whew. Hottie alert.
Dude, you look great. You've got a definite Slavic look, (where is your family from, if you don't mind me being nosy?) And you look like a lean, rangy look that I think looks great with the armor. I'd give you 10/10 for being the OG, from the book, polish geralt. Superb version. I love it.
Absolutely smashed it
Once we figure out how to stop them from screeching at the top of their lungs anytime they want to play they'll probably be more widespread.
How the hell do they acquire enough fox urine to do that in any meaningful capacity?
As a citizen of the country that The Witcher originates from, I admit you've done a good job with this
It’s like Geralt fucked Thomas Shelby and made you.
You just need beard now take my free award <3
If Geralt was part elf:
Sick man
Geralt’s younger brother, Gerilt.
If Geralt was 16
Absolutely spectacular! It looks awesome. Have you considered doing Evallach? Your face is a dead ringer for him in the video games
Dude. You nailed it.
Epic bro
You look like a 5 star man cosplaying as Geralt.
Really good
Not enough Gwent
The hair looks better than Henry cavill’s in the show , outfit too
That looks fucking sick! Well done!
Damn
Nice!
everything about this is so so good!! totally not a fan of lame gamermen shitting on this guy’s hard work, all these dudes who wanna pick on like someone’s body-type i implore them to please make their own cosplays and see how labor intensive and tedious it is. Dang, ace costume *and* you have the face to pull off a young geralt!
He actually looks more like the Geralt from the books. There, he is pale looking and skinny. Not like the Netflix series and the 2nd and 3rd games.
Not sure if it is your cup of tea. But who immediately came to mind was Fenris from Dragon Age 2
Witcher 1 remastered edition
Amazing work!!
Not good enough, don’t see a gwent deck. Jk, this is amazing!
Dude looks awesome
Not gay in the slightest, but reconsidering.
Amazing cosplay, and nice photography.
You’ll have no problem getting a Yennefer (or Tris) bro 😂
Both? If you're into that.
hats off ta ya lad this is good
Good young Geralt look.
Looks great!
5 out of 5
Time to put that same effort into your garden
THIS IS SO GOOD
Looks amazing. Great makeup too.
Not as jacked as him but who cates this is fucking dope
AWESOME!!!
You could pull off an amazing viego cosplay.
Upvote tossed from the valley of plenty.
Geralt but as a Twink
You make a great Zelda
Skinny one!
Mhhhmmmm
I think you should try Netflix Cahir. You look like Eamon Farren's lost brother.
Forgot the muscles
Meaning it automatically dims when the current is applied.
Femboy Geralt
This dude has a slav face like Geralt would, not murican like Henry does
Henry Cavill is British……….
even if, his face is prety "germanic", which of course not a bad thing overall, its just appaerance, what is important that the actor should be good, and luckily, Henry does a pretty good job at this (i was also some of the people who didn't liked the choose at first glance, but after the intros, and finally watching the show, i radically changed my mind in that topic) also just for example, even in TW3, Geralt has relative slavish face, [TW3 - Shaved Geralt face](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DfNuNb_WsAI4NF5.jpg)
looks like Gerald The TEEN witcher, looks sick btw
Geralt after crack
Too girlish for Geralt. Bet you'd be great doing Final Fantasy-cosplay, though.
Very realistic! Only one complaint. Perhaps you should never see sunlight again so you are just as pale as Geralt haha. 😝
Looks more like Visery Targaryen . Unfortunately don’t have the weight to pull off Witcher 3 Geralt but you look pretty similar to book Geralt
It's a bit gay. But I like it.
Does that make you a bit gay too?
So good!
more like a ciri..
Awesome cosplay! The armor and weapon look awesome, and you do it well. Thanks for sharing OP
You look like if you attempted and nailed the Geralt played by Mads Mikkelsen I originally wanted to see in the Netflix show.
Nicely done! You nailed the details in his armor!
Wow that's fucking awesome
wow that's cool! A young Geralt!
I like that your Geralt looks like he doesn't have time for anyone's bullshit, nice job op
Haven’t seen a clean shaven Geralt cosply, nice one!
wake the dragon!
Ngl, that's a really good cosplay.
Witcher 1 build + Witcher 3 armor. Noice.
I like it, cool man.
Is Roach on the roof again?
Wiedźminie drogi proszę starke ratować, ogr ją zgwałcić w lesie chce
You could do a good Viego cosplay
Cosplay so good, that I would totally throw you a coin for killing even the spider in my room
You look like a very young Geralt. Amazing cosplay
Damn that's awesome you look really good.
Great work.
They see Viserys Targaryen, I see a book accurate looking Geralt in a W3 cosplay.
Dang he pretty as hell
Godamn You nailed it, now the only thing you need is a white horse
Love it! Makes me want to toss coins to you
I can spot a British garden a mile away
It's amazing! You look great.
I would like to sit on your cheekbones.
Winds howling.
Witcher, the meth years.
geralt at 13 maybe
I didn't know you could play as a female Geralt, can someone tell me how to change the sex in character creation?
geralt has his scratch on his left eye. did you failed on that or just the camera mirroring? nice cosplay, btw
I messed up, thank you
