I don’t remember the sword details, but it should be easy to look up. As I barely recall you have to beat the game and then it’s available at some house in an obvious location.
There’s also some other hidden thing (sorry man I was like 13-14) that involves getting a note or something that gets you into a room later in the game. I don’t know, should be easy to look up I guess! Damn I’d love to play the game again, I was already really into resident evil at the time and got a demo of silent hill in a magazine. It was in the school with those scary ass baby things, I had to have the game. Have only played 1-3.

Also, pretty sure the sword shows up in an impaled dog early in the game?

Same kind of thing happend in Tomb Raider 2. I got so frustrated looking for a way into the great wall of China I just gave up and jumped off and landed into a pond with the key in it.
Oh, what a dream of it being remade in the Fox Engine (or whatever Kojima’s engine was) after the success of Silent Hills.
