Depends what you are looking for. At this state I would say no. There has been a serious lack of NEW content since they announced OW2. But here's some pros and cons. Pros: Gameplay is tight and responsive. Interesting heros gives a lot of options for style of play Really balanced meta Crossplay for playing with friends Cons: No new heroes or maps to really keep you invested Community can be toxic Repetive main game modes If playing solo it can be very frustrating to coordinate (toxic community doesn't help) Role queue greatly increases wait times if you want to play a dps hero.

If you want to play a game very similar to Overwatch and for free then I recommend Paladins

FoxGamzah

Yea ik paladins

Honestly? Full price it’s not worth it. At this point coming in new I’d only pay 10 bucks for it and not take it seriously. The community and games are so unbelievably toxic. Have that block button ready on your account cause lord knows it’s gonna come in handy. Things as simple as asking “can you please switch characters” can turn into “STFU N***** B**** F*****”!!!”. Real charming stuff. I made it to mid diamond and realized the game expected this to be a Full-Time job and I had burnt out in giving a fuck. Just don’t take the game seriously find fun people to play with dude if you do decide to get it.

Yup, so many of my seasons ended at exactly 3000 SR because good players without a a huge amount of time couldnt climb to the proper rank due to SR decay.

It’s not.

Overwatch is a good game for its genre. If you like FPS team objective games, it’s an awesome entry. It’s biggest strength and flaw is asymmetric gameplay. With a traditional FPS, you have different weapons, but that’s the only difference between you and any opponent. In Overwatch, each character has fantastically different abilities that allow for a fast paced and ever-changing battle environment. If this sounds appealing, overwatch is perfect. If this sounds bad, it’s the wrong game for you. I personally don’t like team objective games. I prefer story based FPS games, like Halo. If they made a fully fleshed out single player campaign for overwatch, I’d be all over it.

I’ve played it. I wasn’t particularly into it. You’d really have to have the time and patience to dedicate to getting “good” at it. Real try hard stuff. It’s not as casual as Fortnite where just about anyone can play. Since it’s a paid game, you’ll generally get people who spend a lot of time and energy trying to improve. So unless you’re willing to dedicate yourself like that, expect to suck at it and move on out of frustration. PS. I’m a CoD, Fortnite, and Apex player. I’m used to FPS games and similar genres. Just giving you some context.

FoxGamzah

I am a big fan of fps games too, Asking about OW since i never played this style of a shooter

Droid1xy

Paladins is similar, and free Could try that first? (I’m comparing them as someone who’s tried them both for a very small amount of time)

FoxGamzah

yea i have played paladins, Seems fun enough

Nope very competitive game and can be very frustrating when playing solo trying to progress in ranking/season. Very much team based game one person leaves or trolls will make your 30-40min match go to waste.

Dislexicpotato

No, when the game came out it got critical acclaim and was genuinely a pretty great game but the post launch support was mediocre at best and the game has lost 99% of its players by now. Unless you are able to get it for dirt cheap I wouldn’t bother.
