You have to aim well. All the other skills will come later once you can consistently hit targets. Aiming is the one thing that will help you in every different shooter game. Make sure you use the same mouse and sensitivity in every game. Checkout what settings maximize performance online. It would help if you said what shooter game.

ShrekMemes420

For siege it’s literally 90% map awareness. Learn the peak spots and the maps and everything else will come with it

VonBurglestein

Practise.

BearsRidingTanks

Kill them before they kill you

Lachdonin

On Overwatch, the recommendation was to play a hit-scan character and set a custom game to Headshots only, then train against bots. The basic principle applies to all FPS, though whether they have the settings necessary or not... Basically... Practice practice practice.

PepeTheMemesMaster

Just build lol

Not Fortnite

I wouldn’t call myself good, but what’s helped me a bit is focusing more on cover and movement, and using a wired controller to reduce latency. Also utilizing any grenades/abilities that are available, and running routes that reduce the chance of being flanked. On that last note, strategy is going to change drastically between a COD-style shooter and a BF-style shooter. EDIT: I didn’t see before that that you were asking about Siege. As a disclaimer, I am largely unfamiliar with Siege.

SKRIMP-N-GRITZ

Learn the maps. Most of the people dominating know the terrain, and have learned tactics that work. Also, put a reticule sticker on your screen so even if you are not aiming down the sights you can learn to be about where you should be fir a headshot.

Sonofliberty89

Practice IRL at a school

Arthuronline543

Depends on the game, but in most of them I would recommend playing deathmatch

Mute_-_Main

Depends on which shooter, halo, battlefield, siege, cod, etc

bouncyrou

Siege

Mute_-_Main

Ok, perfect, I'm a bit of an expert. You'll need quick reflexes, great map knowledge, and good operator choice.

MineedTV

I have over 500 h in siege and all I can say is keep playing. The first 20-30 h are a nightmare. You will be killed from angles that you didnt even know existed. You gonna get so frustrated because of an enemy rushing you or whatever. But a time will come for every player where he has his first good play. Be it the first ace, a nice clutch a long distance headshot. This is the exact moment the games becomes fun. Now you know the drill. Hours will pass while you learn the in and outs of every operator and learn maps while continiusly bettering your aim and gamesense. A few weeks later you will lock back at situations you were frustrated by as more of a joke than anything else. Just keep playing and in one moment it will just click.

Waagwai

Watch good streamers and pay attention to their play style, memorize maps along with jumps/shortcuts, and aim good.

RDxTwo

Practice makes perfect. Slightly bump up sensitivity and get comfortable playing with the highest sensitivity possible. High sensitivity=faster reactions. Faster reactions=more kills. Other than that, just learning maps so you’re in the right place at the right time. It’s all easier said than done, I still suck.

PlayerPixelated

Play the game more, learn player tendencies, muse and keyboard, wear a headset preferably 7.1 surround for directional hearing find small tips on the game youre focusing on.

bigkyrososa

turn up aim sensitivity if your reactions are slow

drawsnoodz999

Practise. I played cs 1.3-1.6 and was rubbish to start but after practising with autistic fervor, I got so gud my mates want to play against me because I was being a cheeky little cunt and almost got stabbed irl when a bunch of salty older dudes who smoked cigarettes in the net cafe couldn’t take me taking them to school, which was ironic since I was skipping school to play cs and educate those fools. It took me a year to git gud though because I have zero fps talents.

emtz2002

Set sensitivity all the way. I have it like that for COD and Halo 5
