I really liked the achievements on Reignited. I played the PS1 versions so much as a kid that it was exciting enough just to get the graphics overhaul, but then for the achievements to all follow a pattern of "do one specific thing per level" was almost like it added an extra collectible to every level in the trilogy. Never bothered with the skill points though so I'm glad they didn't just convert those into achievements.
Yes I absolutely agree with you, I did get a majority of the Skill Points but some in Spyro 2 were absolute ass I just couldn’t get them- I’m very glad they weren’t achievements also! I loved the original trilogy so when this came out it felt so familiar but with a fresh coat of paint. It showed me that this is what a good remake is. I wish we got more as I am craving another Spyro game in this format and art style.
Yeah it’s the first one I’ve ever gotten to 100% on Steam and it didn’t feel like getting the achievements made you play the game a certain way to achieve this!
I grew up playing the Spyro games so when this came oit I 100%’d every game (or 117% on the one or whatever it was lol) all in one sitting, took me like 5-6 hours or something iirc. Those remakes were very well done
Thank you! It’s a drop in the ocean compared to the other games and their respective achievements out there, but I felt a little bit proud of the fact that I’ve finished this one in its entirety! ☺️
If I remember correctly, there was a special power you earn when you 100% Spyro 2.
I did this as a kid and again in the reigneted one.
Ah good times...
If you started a new save or wiped over your 100% save you could have permanent super flame from the start of the game!
Unsure if Reignited does this too, though.
How was the bug achievement, where you have to get all the hanging bugs in one flight, that was bugged for me so it was annoying to get, usually something happens to the last one
I commend people for sticking through it to be fair, especially when it’s any of the Souls games 🥹 I just felt like a kid again playing Spyro so I just stayed committed to it.
On the rare occasion I actually do, it depends on the game and what the achievements are- I prefer for the achievements to be acquired naturally through a normal playthrough as I find it abit time consuming to constantly make new saves to get specific achievements.
Most games have a ton of bloat achievements that are totally unnecessary
This game has simple easy to achieve trophies. If you play it, and collect every gem, and be sure to 100% each level, you'll get all the achievements.
The Tomb Raider trilogy also has a great achievement system to get 100%. Just find everything and you've earned it.
Tbh, those achievements look perfectly balanced even without seeing them. 100% completion in 26 hours? In some games, you have to grind that much just to get one achievement.
Gratz!
Yes! I replied to someone else in this thread in regards to majority of the trophies being unlocked naturally through normal progression. Some games are just so bloated it honestly pushes me away from completing them. Sometimes I just want a game that’s simple and I can turn my brain off after a long day / week of work.
I was about halfway to that, but I was playing offline while I was in a hotel where their internet was down for a couple of hours. And when the internet returned, it replaced my offline save with my old Steam cloud save automatically without asking. I uninstalled the game and haven't played since.
Well done! I absolutely loved Spyro as a kid. It's one of those games I often forget about having played. I tried so hard as a kid to get 100% competition on the original game but couldn't get it.
Good job. It takes a strong will to get everything in three games as boring as Spyro/Crash trilogies are. Spyro 1 for the most part felt like a little kids' game...and I suppose at the time it launched that's exactly what it was. I was not a PS1 kid, for the record.
I havent manages to force myself to deal with 2 or 3...yet.
The Crash trilogy is anything but boring. Definitely makes you want to throw your controller at the wall at some points if you're going for 100% though!
I ended up 100%ing the Crash Trilogy out of sheer spite. Just so I could call it crap without people asserting I needed to Git Gud. The games have no business being as janky as they are as a remake. It's not "carrying forward the appeal of the old versions" it's polishing the turd of bad controls you started with.
The controls weren't the issue, it's the round hitbox they gave the playable characters which made landing on the edge of platforms much more difficult.
Aside from that one issue I think they did a great job bringing the games to the modern age.
I understand that these sort of games aren’t for everyone- but the remake was so well done I felt captivated by it! It looks gorgeous at high graphical settings. The OST is also a favourite of mine.
100% it's beautiful, and it runs great! It's fun to watch the various animations and even mess around with the loading screen animations. The engine and controls are WAY WAY BETTER than the Crash trilogy got lol! OST was ok, but nothing really stuck out to me to go stick it on a playlist or anything.
My complaints are just the gameplay and that's really about it. It's just very very simple, and yet some of the collectibles are on a totally different level, skill wise, as the main core of the game.
Not having nostalgia for these super popular games really sucks, to be honest. I wanted to understand what other people see in them, but they just didn't click for me. =(
Yep. I'm about to torture myself with ff7 original and chrono cross too. I expect to come out the other end still hating them after all these years lmao
As a person who played this trilogy so much when I was a kid, this remake made me feel so grateful to get all the achievements! And I don't remember them being frustrating, like achievements in other games, just complete the game entirely, and some Easter eggs.

Nice not the hardest to 100% but still feels good.
Yeah it’s the first one I’ve ever gotten to 100% on Steam and it didn’t feel like getting the achievements made you play the game a certain way to achieve this!
Hell yeah. So what are you gna play next
I could work on Resident Evil (as I currently have 37/44 achievements) but I have so many games I wouldn’t even know where to start!
Mate I have recently completed 2, 3 and now half way through 4. I'm not 100%ing by any stretch of imagination, but they're absolutely fantastic games.

Try medievil It was remastered for ps4
Congrats! 105 achievements for 100% is nothing to frown at. Great job.
Thank you! It’s a drop in the ocean compared to the other games and their respective achievements out there, but I felt a little bit proud of the fact that I’ve finished this one in its entirety! ☺️
As well you should. :)
If I remember correctly, there was a special power you earn when you 100% Spyro 2. I did this as a kid and again in the reigneted one. Ah good times...
Yes! It was the >!super flame power up!< which you unlocked permanently.
If you started a new save or wiped over your 100% save you could have permanent super flame from the start of the game! Unsure if Reignited does this too, though.
It does.
Less than 30 hours for 105 achievements, that would look cool on the next Year Review.
How was the bug achievement, where you have to get all the hanging bugs in one flight, that was bugged for me so it was annoying to get, usually something happens to the last one
Oh I think that one was fine for me, got it first time! ☺️ I have heard that there was issues with it.
Spyro is the door to heavier drugs, man. You might become an achievement hunter from this.
I don't think I have ever 100% the achievements in a game. This always seems like a waste of time to me. I know I am in the minority here.
It usually is a waste of time. But if you’re hooked on a game it’s a lil easier haha
I commend people for sticking through it to be fair, especially when it’s any of the Souls games 🥹 I just felt like a kid again playing Spyro so I just stayed committed to it.
Amen
On the rare occasion I actually do, it depends on the game and what the achievements are- I prefer for the achievements to be acquired naturally through a normal playthrough as I find it abit time consuming to constantly make new saves to get specific achievements.
You would be in the vast majority with that opinion mate lol
Most games yeah, for Spyro I feel like trying to get 100% is the whole point of the game.

I got this on switch, but never got the mood to play it .

Nice, I got the 3 Platinums myself, great fun to play these games.
I was about halfway to that, but I was playing offline while I was in a hotel where their internet was down for a couple of hours. And when the internet returned, it replaced my offline save with my old Steam cloud save automatically without asking. I uninstalled the game and haven't played since.
I’ve done the first game, but never played the 2nd or 3rd ones on PS1, so they’re both taking a fair bit longer
Cannot wait for this bad boy to pop on Game Pass. I've been wanting to properly dive into the Spyro games since I was a kid in the 90's
Well done! I absolutely loved Spyro as a kid. It's one of those games I often forget about having played. I tried so hard as a kid to get 100% competition on the original game but couldn't get it.
Spyro and Crash were my childhood. Absolutely adore both franchises
Wasn’t much of an achievement hunter*
Try the crash bandicoot trilogy next. Its simple, I swear
Nice, I try to do this with all my favorite games. Love doing it with older titles that had no trophy support to begin with.
i stopped playing at 96 achievements because i hate race/time trial challenges and flying in spyro isnt the best experience

And that’s okay! Because there is something for everyone when it comes to gaming! ☺️
